Clearly defined purpose and consecutive effort in the affairs of life will inevitable result in the attaining of a due measure of success, but in following out the career of one who has attained success by his own efforts there comes into view the intrinsic individuality which made such accomplishment possible, and thus there is granted an objective incentive and inspiration. The qualities which have made Claude F. Lacy the sparkling young gentleman from Boaz one of the prominent and successful men in Massac county have also brought him the esteem of his fellow townsmen, for his career has been one of well-directed energy, strong determination and honorable methods.
Claude F. Lacy was born and raised in Massac County. He is the son of W.E. Lacy, a well known farmer of the Boaz settlement and as is known to our readers is a candidate of the Republican nomination for Representative from this the 51st Senatorial District. he is Massac County s candidate and Massac County is by all means entitled to one of the Representatives. This grand old Republican county given its usual rousing ---------- to the ticket. For the past two years both the Representatives and the State Senator have been seized from the northern part of the district. Saline county furnishing two and Hamilton one. It is nothing more that right that Massac should be given one of the places. In Mr. Lacy this county has hopes of securing one. Claude F. Lacy is a young man of sterling qualities and thoroughly competent to fill the functions of the office to which he aspires.
He was born in Boaz on the 10th day of December, 1885. He served as Clerk in the Illinois Legislature for three sessions, both in the Senate and the House. he is familiar with the workings of Springfield and would have this in his favor.
Mr. Lacy is a member of the A.F. & A.M. and the M.W. of A. He is full of energy, enthusiasm, his record is unblemished and he comes before the people of the district representing no clique or faction. he is entitles to the favorable consideration of every Republican voter. The Journal-Republican on behalf of Massac county, offers the name of Claude F. Lacy to the voters of the 51st Senatorial District, Massac county is entitled to one of the Representatives and Mr. Lacy is the man selected to fill that place. he will be one of the winners in September.
