Welcome!

My name is Sharon Foe and as your new Massac County Illinois host, I will try to post as much data online as possible in order to make it freely available to all.

My paternal ancestors lived in Massac County and I will be adding information about them.

We gratefully accept contributions of raw data such as census information, marriage/birth/death records, obituaries, county histories, biographies, old newspaper items - anything that would help someone build their family tree!!

Feel free to email me with your contributions - every little bit helps.

I regret that I am unable to do personal research

If you have research questions, please refer to the Illinois Genealogy Trails Research Help page. Here we have FAQ's, Resource links and step by step suggestions/instructions to help you along with researching your ancestry in the state of Illinois.

Massac County, Illinois was formed in 1843 from Pope and Johnson Counties and its boundaries remain unchanged to this date.
