I was born in Gridley and went to Gridley Schools and then on to Stevens College and Northwestern University and received a MS in Zoology. I taught at National Park College in Maryland and met my husband Rush Holt who was a U.S. Senator from West Virginia. I had two children. Jane Seale and Rush, Jr. After the death of my husband I returned to teaching in West Virginia at Greenbrier College. I served in the West Virginia legislature and as Sec. of State of West Virginia. Later, I was appointed by Eisenhower to work in Washington at the FHA. I live in Washington D.C. and spend the winter in Boca Raton, Florida.
