Deneen, Fifer, Morgan, Stevenson
McLean County, Illinois, Dedicated a Soldiers’ Monument - Bloomington, Ill., May 30. -- The feature of Decoration Day services here was the dedication of a $50,000 monument to soldiers, erected by McLean County. It contains the names of every soldier from McLean County who served in any war, and the names of all soldiers buried in the county, including eleven Reveolutionary soldiers. Addresses were made by former Vice-President Adlai E. Stevenson, former Gov. J. W. Fifer, former Gov. C. S. Deneen and the Rev. A. R. Morgan.

Hare
Gets $100 Damages From U. S. For Horse Killed In Civil War - Bloomington, Ill., May 24. -- Coroner James F. Hare of McLean County, Illinos, has just been allowed $100 by the government for a horse which was killed in the Civil war in a battle at Oklona, La. He had his claim in since 1864. (**Transcriber Note** 55 years! And we thought current government payments were slow!)
