(Transcriber Note: Another fantastic cook in our family is my mother. Growing up we always said it was a toss up as to who was the best between her and my Aunt Ruth - that is high praise indeed. Many summers were spent "taste-testing" the carrot cakes, angel food cakes and sponge cakes that filled our house when Ruth and Mom went on one of their "baking sprees". YUM!)

Pat was born in Chicago, Illinois to Garrison "Garrie" Richard and Mary ArMinnie Ward Burr. She is the thrid of five children. While the family moved around quite a bit during their growing years, they finally settled in Bloomington-Normal where Pat graduated from Normal Community. She married Ronald I Moncelle (son of Charles LeRoy "Roy" and Jennie Catherine Harms Moncelle) on 31 Aug 1963 and they settled in Lexington. They had two children and in March of 1970 they purchased to a small farm outside Gridley where they raised their two children.
