    -Menard County veterans & widows who lived at the Soldier & Sailors Home in Quincy, Ill from 1887-1916. All are either Civil War or Spanish-American War veterans

    -Currently there are 5 known Confederate Veterans buried here. This page is part of an on-going project by the Sons of Confederate Veterans to locate and mark graves of Confederate Veterans nationwide.

    -Brief biographies and service information of those from Menard County who enlisted in the Eighty-fifth Regiment, Illinois Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War.
