Mrs. Mary A. Luke, 72,
Dies Yesterday At Her Home

Mrs. Mary Agnes Luke passed away yesterday afternoon at her home, 417 E. Winters Ave., 2:30, after several years of failing health.

Mrs. Luke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Leemon, was born December 18, 1870 in Grand Tower, Illinois and died March 7, 1943, at the age of 72 years, 2 months, 19 days. She was married to James A. Luke in 1890 but her husband preceded her in death in 1920.

Mrs. Luke was a member of the First Christian church for over 50 years and a member of the Loyal Workers' Sunday School class. She was also a member of the War Mothers.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Frist Christian church with Rev. O. E. Grimes officiating. Interment will be made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.

Surviving are one son, Aril of East St. Louis, one daughter, Lillie May Luke of St. Louis, two brothers, George Leemon, Chicago, and Wm. Leemon, DuQuoin, and 4 grandchildren.

Remains will lie in state at the Schroeder funeral Home for friends desiring to call.
