she was the grandaughter of William terry who served in the Civil War.
She lived in DuQuoin from 1924 to approx. 1938 when moving to St. Louis, MO.

Served as a Private with WAC Det. Headquarters Command.
She served in World War II in the European Theatre
and at one time, was a driver for General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Honorably Discharged on July 9, 1945 at Mitchell Field, New York.

Rosalie was shot in the head on December 29, 1959,
and although nearly 1/2 of her brain was removed,
she remained very sharp mentally, although paralyzed on her right side.
