A wedding of interest to Du Quoin friends of the bride was solemnized by Rev. FatherSchumacher at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Ava at 8 o'clock this morning in which Virgil Schimpf of Vergennes and Miss Agnes Rosenberger of Ava were married.

The flowergirl was little five year old Helen Schaefer, cousin of the bride.
Following the church ceremony the wedding party repaired to the farm home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Rosenberger, where wedding breakfast and reception were tendered. This evening a wedding dance to which a host of friends have been invited will be given at the Rosenberger home.

The bride, in recent years has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Don McCloud in Du Quoin and more recently at Carbondale. She is a member of St. Bruno's Catholic Church at Pinckneyville and is popular among a wide circle of friends. The bridegroom is the son of Bastian Schimpf of Vergennes and comes of one of the best known farmer families of that section. At this time he is employed in the LOX plant at thenew strip mine near Percy. He also is a member of the Catholic faith. Mr. and Mrs. Schimpf will go to housekeeping in Pinckneyville where a newly furnished apartment awaits them.

Attending the wedding from Du Quoin were Mesdames Frank Berg, cousin of the bride, Anthony Miller and Maggie Bechlofft and Miss Caroline Helmer.

Mrs. George Steins of this city, an aunt of the bride, was unable to attend the affair.
