William Glenn Sr., sec. 29; P.O.Valley City; born in March, 1800, in Ireland; in 1830 he landed in Philadelphia; he remained in Pennsylvania 5 years; is a mason by trade; came to Pike county and entered the land whereon he now resides in 1835; then went to St. Louis, Mo., where he followed his trade for five years, and then moved back to this county; has been a prominent farmer and stock raiser, but being old. Has turned the business over to his son William, in 1835 he married Maria Topping, and of their 6 children 5 are living, --James, Thomas, William, Catharine and Maria. Their son Robert was killed in the late war during Gen. Forest s raid through Tennessee.
