An Afternoon Walk Did you ever stop and wonder Years back when just a lad The friends that you remember Some were good, and some were bad I took a walk one afternoon Among the many stones To that hill side cemetery Not far from my old home I saw the names of those I knew When I was just a "pup" It gave me a real nice feeling That I knew them, while growing up Each name brought back a memory And a happy thought or two I wish I could find the words To explain this all to you It felt like a grand reunion As I walked along the rows And those names that came alive again Which had been resting in my soul I wonder if they see me And know I’m filled with joy With these happy memories, of them When I was just a boy Billie Browning - 22 February 2002
