Residence of A.J. Thomas
Is a native of Pleasant Hill. He has been in business over nineteen years.
He is now Postmaster, is serving his second term as Secretary of the Sny Island
Levee and Drainage District Commissioners, and actively engaged
in the Real Estate business.


Residence of Mrs. Ida Priestley Built 1895
The popular milliner and up-to-date business woman of
Pleasant Hill. Established 1895. Mrs. Priestley is
considered authority in all matters pertaining to
millinery, trimming and designing.


Priestley Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church // Rev. N.M. Jones
Was built in 1891 during the pastorate of Rev J.W. Madison.
The original society worshiped in the Stockland Church.
As the town grew in population and some of the country members moved
to town, it became necessary to erect a new church building.
The church has grown and with the assistance of the Stockland
church supports a pastor. The two churches together number over
200 members and are rapidly growing under the present pastor.

given universal satisfaction. His trade is constantly increasing.

Built by Zerenberg in 1879. The horse is Swainson's famour Colonel, now owned by Barton

Is a native of Pleasant Hill, born Sept 27 1879, and for the
past six years has been one of our leading business man.
He is now running a first class Restaurant and Lunch Room,
and carries a full line of Confectionery, Tobacco, Cigars,
Bakery Goods, fresh every day, Oysters and Ice Cream
