FRED W. THIELE

Fred Thiele, who with his brother Ben owned and operated their farm north of Griggsville, was inducted into army service Oct. 24, and is now stationed at Camp Haan, California.

This is the second time Mr. Thiele has been in the service of his country. In 1918 at the age of 21 he enlisted in the Navy and served until the close of the first World War. Mr. Thiele is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Thiele, pioneers in this community.

WILLIAM E. TURNBULL
William E. Turnbull, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turnbull, arrived here today from San Diego, California. William enlisted in the Navy a year ago and has been working in the Administration Building of the 11th Naval District located at San Diego. He was chosen to go to Notre Dame at South Bend, Indiana, for special training and will report there after a short visit here.

William is a graduate of the Griggsville Community High and attended Western Illinois State Teachers College at Macomb for two years.
