DOLLY M. BAILEY
, 87, of Hull, Ill., died at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at the Barry Community Care Center.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home.
Dolly was born March 10, 1922, in Perry to Edward and Mabel Audrey Shaver.
She was married for 33 years to Kenneth L. Bailey. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include four nieces, Karen Waters, Rita Wilson, Connie Pope and Rhonda Zumwalt; one nephew, Carl Young; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a special friend, Rudy.
Dolly was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson and Raymond Shaver; two sisters, Opal Ralph and Lucille Young; and one niece, Linda Lain.
Dolly was a farmer’s wife, a 54-passenger charter bus coordinator in Hannibal, and worked at Motorola in Quincy, Ill., for 10 years. She loved to play bingo and dominoes. Dolly also enjoyed visiting the gambling boats and especially spending time with family and friends. She was a Christian by faith.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Wilson, Larry Marine, Mike Darr, James Lain, Joey Wilson and Brian Fuqua.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Jason Darr, Brian Fuqua II, Nicholas Pope, Wayne Zumwalt, Jessica Darr, Emma Wilson, Alex Wilson and Andrew Wilson.
Memorials may be made to the Hull Community Church, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
MILDRED A. BECKTELL
, 96, of the Pittsfield Eastside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of New Salem, IL , passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Center. She was born June 12, 1913 in Naples , IL , a daughter to Albert T. and Julia F. Nunn Mayes. She was married to James E. Rodgers and Guy E. Test. On November 12, 1955, she married Kermit Becktell and he preceded her in death February 28, 1976.
Mildred was of the Methodist faith and in her earlier years worked at the grocery store in New Salem, the Brown Shoe Factory and Spurgeon Clothing Store in Pittsfield . She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Test of Pittsfield and one son, Jim Rodgers of New Salem, IL., two grandchildren, six great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Two brothers, Virgil and Lee Mays, preceded her in death.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with private services being held at a later date.

RICHARD T. BIGGS
, 79, of Frankford died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green with the Rev. John Birkhead and the Rev. Don Amelung officiating. Burial will be in the Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Ill., with military honors.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Church. He was born May 6, 1928 in Frederick, Md. On Aug. 21, 1953, he married Donna V. Smith in St. Louis. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Richard Mark Biggs and wife, Karen of Bowling Green; one daughter, Donna Biggs Grote and husband, Joe of Curryville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion McClain of Frederick, Mary.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Mr. Biggs served during WWII in the U. S. Coast Guard (Merchant Marines) and the Navy. He was raised in Maryland then in 1952 moved to St. Louis where he worked for the railroad and operated printing presses and worked as a carpenter in construction. He moved to Bowling Green in 1972 where he continued working as a carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting model trains, working jigsaw puzzles and reading. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Biggs, Joey Grote, Timmy Grote, Kevin Ponton, Brett Biggs, Joe Rowell and Gerard Jezik.
The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Pike County Missouri Hospice, Gideons or Crescent Heights Cemetery.
EMMA DARLENE BIGSBY
, 77, of Quincy died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Blessing Hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1931 in Hadley Township, the daughter of Harry and Nellie Ely Sittler. April 14, 1979 she married William Bigsby in Bushnell.
She was employed for 30 years at the Brown Shoe Company in Pittsfield. After the Shoe factory closed, she and William moved to Bushnell where she started her own cleaning service. They moved to Quincy in the early 1990's where she worked for I.S.S. for five years until her retirement. She was a member of Akers Chapel. She enjoyed crocheting, and made afghans for Maysville Bluegrass Auctions. She loved Bluegrass music and enjoyed attending music festivals.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Vickie Kay Armstrong and her husband Ken of Pleasant Hill; two grandsons, Scott Armstrong of Carbondale and Brian Armstrong of Quincy; three sisters, Norma McGee of Virginia and Ruby Young and Anna Beth Moore, both of Hemett, Calif.; a brother, George Sittler and his wife Faye of Avon; a step-son, Bill E. Bigsby and his wife, Darcy, of Quincy, and a step-daughter, Shelby Emele of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, step-nieces, step-nephews, and step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Henry Pratt officiating. Burial was in Miller Cemetery, Atlas. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 13 at Hansen-Spear
ELMER C. BOULWARE
, 76, a retired farmer, died Tuesday morning, January 22, 1957, at two o'clock at the Illini Community Hospital where he had been a patient for the past eleven days. He had previously suffered a stroke at his home.
Mr. Boulware was born November 16, 1880, the son of James and Isabelle House Boulware, on the farm northwest of Barry where he has always made his home. He attended the Barry schools.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, January 24, at two o'clock in the Hufnagel Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Charles Van Dettum, assisted by the Rev. L. C. Prruehsner. Ray Gleckler will sing, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Holton. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Ward, Henry Gregory, William Carbaugh, Clifford Bridgewater, Richard. Potter and Henry Stroheker.
Surviving are one brother, Ellis Boulware, who makes his home at the Beatty Nursing Home, and Miss Susie Hinch, who has lived in the Boulware home for many years.
BRATSCH, Margaret E. (Toumbs)
, 61, of El Dara, formerly of Barry, died Jan. 11, 2003 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born July 13, 1941 in Barry to Fred and Ellen Crenshaw Toumbs. She married Paul Shanks and later married Glen Bratsch. She was a nurse's assistant at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry. She was saved Nov. 15, 2002. She collected porcelain dolls. She loved her pets, her dog Skeeter and her cat Fluffy. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds at her feeders. Survivors are one son, Bill Bratsch of Hannibal, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Rita) Rush of Summer Hill; a companion, Paul Shanks of El Dara; two brothers, Leo Toumbs of New Canton and Donald Toumbs of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Mrs. Glen (Betty) Sims of Mt. Sterling and one grandson, Adam Bratsch of Summer Hill. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Cathleen, Virginia and Nancy and one brother, Elmo Toumbs. Private graveside services were held at the Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials are suggested to her grandson Adam's educational fund, c/o Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield, IL 62363.
WADE LEON BRAYMAN
, 89, of the Illinois Veteran's Home, formerly of 2502 Oak, Quincy, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at the veteran's home.
Born May 30, 1920 in Pike County, Wade was a son of Virgil Ray and Pearl Applegate Braymen. He married Deloris Robinson Sept. 3, 1947 in Pittsfield. She preceded him in death Jan. 10, 2003.
Wade was a member of Madison Park Christian Church and the 25 Year Club at Moorman Manufacturing. An avid hunter and fisherman, Wade also enjoyed mushroom hunting and trout fishing, especially in the Bennett Springs, Mo. area. He also was a member of the Moorman's bowling and trap shooting leagues.
Mr. Braymen served his country with the U.S. Army under the command of Gen. George S. Patton in the 103rd Infantry Division, Battery A 928th Field Artillery Battalion Command Post during World War II seeing action in the Rhineland and Central European campaigns. In later years, Mr. Braymen enjoyed keeping in touch with his comrades as a member of the Cactus Patch, 103rd Infantry Division Association of WW II.
Mr. Braymen was employed for 33 years at Moorman Manufacturing, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Wada Russell of Quincy and Donna Hilgenbrink and her husband Robert of Shiloh; a son, Steve Braymen and his wife Pat of Quincy; a daughter in law, Marsha Prestridge and her husband Mark of Ft. Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Laura Bruzan and her husband Vincent of Phoenix, Ariz., Suzanne Smith of Shiloh, Erica Fulton and her husband Tracy of Ft. Worth, Tandy Braymen of Garland, Texas, Jacob Russell, Ginger Russell and Adam Braymen all of Quincy; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Bowman of Pittsfield; a sister in law, Eileen Syrcle of Pittsfield; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Braymen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Deloris; a son, Gary Braymen; a grandson, Jeremy Russell; three brothers, Lloyd Braymen , Marshal Braymen and Dennis Braymen in infancy; and a sister, Dorothy Robinson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Keith Ehresman and Pastor Henry Pratt. Burial with Military Honors will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veteran's Home Activity Fund.

RAY O. BURGE
, age 87, of Pleasant Hill died Monday, July 20, 2009, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy,
Ray was born June 14, 1922 near Meppen in Calhoun County, a son of Charles and Azubah Fuller Burge. He married Imogene Hoaglin June 2, 1949 in Bowling Green, Mo. and she survives.
Ray had been employed by Harry Smith Oil as a truck driver in his earlier years and was a long time employee of the Gamble Store in Pleasant Hill.
He was an Amy veteran of WW II having served in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters and was a member of the Pleasant Hill American Legion Post 1048.
Ray was a trustee for Pleasant Hill Township and he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Imogene Burge of Pleasant Hill,three sisters, Velma Goewey and Melissa Guthrie, both of Pleasant Hill and Anna Lee Walker of Rogers, Ark and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home conducted by Bro. Don flannel. Burial with military honors, will follow at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Friday. Methorials may be made to the Crescent Heights Cemetery Association. Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill is handling the arrangements.
