Last Will and Testament

Will Book Vol.  A , 1861 - 1916

I, George M. Gilliam of Golconda, Pope County Illinois, being of lawful and and of sound mind and memory, do hereby make this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other and former wills by me made.
1st. I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid.
2nd. I hereby give bequeath and devise Lot number Three Hundred and Twelve (312) in Golconda Pope County Illinois, to my wife Minerva A. Gilliam for life, to hold during the remainder of her natural life, and the remainder in fee Simple I give and devise to my daughters, Sara F. Baker, Eliza J. Baker, and Leatha E. Baker and Myrtle Gilliam in fee Simple.
3rd.  I hereby give and bequeath the intirety of my personal Estate to my wife Minerva A. Gilliam.  My sons, James R. Gilliam, George B. Gilliam, and Luke Gilliam, I have already provided for by giving tto them my Farm of 200 acres, therefore I do not will them anything.
I hereby nominate my wife, and appoint her as Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament, and I require of her no Bond as Executrix, and request that she serve without Bond.  I see no necessity for her making an inventory, nor an Appraisement Bill, nor a Sole Bill and hereby relieve her from making and filing same.  In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my scroll Seal this the 8th day of November A. D. 1894.

The above instrument was at the date thereof signed, sealed, published and declared by the said George M. Gilliam as and for his Last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed out names as witnesses hereto, believing the said George M. Gilliam to be of sound mind and memory at the time of us subscribing our names as witnesses.
