Earl C. Bauer, 88, of Olive Branch died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 16, 1913, in Miller City, Ill., son of Carl and Novella Simpson Bauer. He and Florence Martin were married in 1935 in Cairo, Ill.

He was co-owner of Bauer Brothers Oil Co. in Cairo 33 years. He was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church at Miller City, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Harry "Jack" Bauer of Cairo, Carl Bauer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Fleecy Yates of Miller City; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
