Otha Clemons

 Otha Lee Clemons, 78, of Charleston died Sunday, June 15, 2002, at Charleston Manor.

He was born June 5, 1924, in Tunica, Miss., son of Stennis and Mary Kirkland Clemons.

He retired as a construction worker and truck driver in Flint, Mich.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include six sisters, Virginia Crider, Ruth Stockton and Ira Gordon of Charleston, Pauline Lewis of South Bay, Fla., Yvonnie Evans of Jefferson City, Mo., Margaret Hunt of Chicago; four brothers, Stennis Clemons Jr. of Philadelphia, Miss., Johnny Clemons of Cape Girardeau, Phillip Clemons of Charleston, Joe Brown of Detroit, Mich.; and stepmother, Velma Clemons of Charleston.

Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with Steve Betts officiating. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill.
