May T. Ericson

Mrs. May T. (THISTLEWOOD) Ericson, age 84, a resident of 814 Walnut St. died Sunday at 1:40a.m. at St Mary's Hospital after an extended illness.

Mrs. Ericson was the daughter of the late Harriet and J. P. Thistlewood and a member of one of Cairo's prominent families. She was a member of the Cairo Woman's Club, a member of the D. A. R. Egyptian Chapter, a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and a graduate of Northwestern University .

Mrs. Ericson was the oldest member of the First Christian Church and had received recognition for over 75 years membership in the church. 

She is survived by one foster son, Harry Moore Ericson of Cairo; Miss Anna May Thistlewood of Chicago and Mrs. Harriet LaFon of Atlanta, GA. are nieces and her nephews are Arthur Thistlewood Jr. of Cairo and John Thistlewood of Lexington, KY.

Funeral Services were held today at 2p.m. at the First Christian Church of Cairo with Rev. Bascom Hopkins, the pastor officiating. Entombment in the family mausoleum follow later at Thistlewood Cemetery.
