Leonard Harris, 66, of Cairo, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1936, son of Chester and Lucell Harris.
He was married to Marilyn Joyce Harris. She preceded him in death.
He was a lifelong resident of Cairo. He was an auto mechanic, employed with Pete Thomas Ford and Calvin Watson car dealership for several years.
Survivors include five sons, Ronnie Harris and Edward Lee Harris, both of Cairo, Michael Baldwin of Joliet, Ill., Dale Wayne Harris and Leonard Harris Jr., both of El Paso, Texas; three daughters, Joyce Marie Harris, Donna Kay Harris, and Linda Jackson, all of Cairo; three brothers, Willie Harris of Cairo, Richard Harris and Chester Harris, both of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Corrine Johnson, Viola Adams, Vernay Baines, and Carol Simmons, all of Chicago; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Future City, Ill., with Fred Johnson Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Spencer Heights Memorial Park in Mounds, Ill.
