Dorothy E. McChristian, 87, of Cairo, Ill. died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Heartland Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 25, 1915, at Mounds, Ill., daughter of Walter and Bertie McDowell Burns. She married Robert E. McChristian, who died in 2001.

Dorothy was a retired bookkeeper and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Brockett, Mary E. Bumpus and Meredith E. Wagner, all of Cape Girardeau; a son, Robert E. McChristian of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Emelie James of Longmont, Colo.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill. The Rev. Richard Pigg officiated, followed by interment.
