Edna Mae McHarry

Edna Mae McHarry, age 84, of Ullin, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001 at the St. Frances Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was born in Ullin, IL. on Oct. 7, 1916 to Nathan Gilbert and Sarah Olive  (TRAMEL) Melvin. She married William Edwin McHarry on March 26, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1975.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ullin and the Caledonia Chapter 587 Order of the Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors of America. Edna remained a faithful and active servant of God her entire life. She gave birth to 10 children, but was "Mother" to many.

She is survived by five daughters;  Evelyn Rarrick and Shirley Rhodes, both of Ullin, Mary Wood and Terry Brindley, both of Karnak and Sarah Petree of Romulus, MI; five sons, William "Bud" McHarry of Thebes, Roy McHarry, Hueitt "Jake" McHarry, and David McHarry and Timothy McHarry, all of Ullin; one brother, Junior Melvin of Ullin; one sister, Mary Seals of Ullin; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and scores of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter; Betty Jean and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Edna McHarry were held at 10a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Ullin with Rev. Richard Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Ullin City Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6-9p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 at the Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Crain Funeral Home in Ullin were in charge of the arrangements.
