Mildred C. Parker

Mildred C. (MELTON) Parker, 90, of Pulaski, died at 1:39 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Parker was born April 27, 1914, in Mounds, the daughter of the late Herbert A. & Velma (DACUS) Melton.

Mrs. Parker was a member of the Pulaski Christian Church and a member and former Treasurer of the Ladies Aid of the church, member and served as a Past matron of the Caledonia Chapter of Eastern Star 587 of olive Branch, and was a housewife and a homemaker.

Mrs. parker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Ernest Orlan Parker, on Aug. 7, 1995; and brothers, Hollowey Melton and Harold Melton.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Harold Heilig and Betty and Bob Reynolds, all of Pulaski; sister, Juanita Cerny of Cairo; three grandchildren, Vicki Prokopf of Jackson, MO., Keith Kerr of Villa Ridge, and Kevin Reynolds of Arlington, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Lia Prokopf and Cheyenne Kerr, several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mildred C. Parker will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with Brother Wiley D. Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge. Friends may call between 5 and 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge.
