Jake Rundles, 85, of Cairo died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

He was born Jan. 12, 1921, at Diehlstadt, Mo., son of William and Annie Amos Rundles.

He was a retired construction worker. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four nephews, Donald Rundles Sr. of Cairo, Earl Rundles of Olive Branch, Ill., Gilbert Rundles Jr. of East Prairie, and Thomas Rundles of Wickliffe, Ky.

There is no visitation. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Mound City National Cemetery.

Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
