Nina M. Rushing

Nina M. Rushing, 96, of Marion, formerly of Mound City,
died Thursday afternoon, May 11, 2006, in Fountains Nursing Home in
Marion.
She was born Oct. 19, 1909, in Villa Ridge, the daughter of the late
Wesley Jackson and Ida Frances Hitchcock Mathis.
She was married to Forrest D. Rushing, and he preceded her in death March
15, 1970.
She worked at Crain Manufacturing Company in Mound City before her
retirement, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mounds.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rushing was preceded in death
by her daughter, Merle Jean Griffith.
Mrs. Rushing's survivors include one grandson, Bruce Wayne and wife,
Denise K. Griffith, of Marion; one granddaughter, Babs Frederking, of
Okawville; one son-in-law, James E. Griffith, of Du Quoin; four
grand-children, other relatives, and many friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City
with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Spencer Heights
Cemetery in Mounds. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until the time of
services today at the funeral home. The Barkett Funeral Home of Mound City
is in charge of arrangements.
