Bill Sissom

Bill Sissom, of Olive Branch, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at 3:25 a.m. at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1923, in Ullin, the son of John & Mary (CARSON) Sissom.

He married Frances Pettit on April 22, 1942. She died on May 28, 2003.

Mr. Sissom was a retired logger. He had also worked for Bill Story Construction. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He was an avid Bingo and card player.

He is survived by two daughters, Deb (Mike) Davis of Cairo and Jayne Simmons of Oliver Branch; three sons, Tony (JoAnn) Sissom of Oliver Branch, J. B. (Tina) Sissom of Thebes and Danny (Sherry) Sissom of Cape Girardeau; 18 grandchildren; eight step - grandchildren; 25 great - grandchildren; eight step - great - grandchildren; one step - great - great - grandchildren; one sister, Frieda Pearman of Cape Girardeau; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Susan Modglin in 2002 and Kimberly Ann Sissom in 1953; one son, William Dean Sissom in 1965; three brothers, John, Charlie, & Bobby.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating. Interment was in the Ullin City Cemetery with full military honors presented by Pulaski County VFW Post #8891.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
