Jean D. Sowers

Jean D. Sowers, 58, of Mounds died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at her home.

She was born April 25, 1943, in Arlington, KY., daughter of John and Bessie (BLACKBURN) Felts. She married Chuck Sowers.

Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mounds, where she was keyboardist and a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jeanie Taylor and Shavona Isom, both of Mounds; a son, David Sowers of Camdenton, Mo.; a sister, Ramona Williams of Centralia, IL. and five grandsons.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stephen Wolfe and Rev F. M. Speakman officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery at Ullin, IL.
