The Florid Cemetery is located in the tiny village of Florid, Illinois, which is about 4 miles south of Hennepin, Putnam County, Illinois. The village was laid out in a straight line, with no side roads. The cemetery is located in about the center of the village, on the south side, behind two homes. There is a road (path) that goes back to the cemetery, but it is not graveled or paved. This cemetery has some of the oldest burials in Putnam County. The cemetery however is not well maintained and a lot of the stones are damaged or unreadable.
The following names and dates were taken between 1995 and 1998. They are however the interpretation of the reader (myself) and are subject to human error. Should any errors be found or any corrections needed, please contact me.

VISIT TO THE FLORID
CEMETERY
MARCH 14, 1995
There was A LOT of damage to the graveyard. Someone or something, had knocked over several large stones. (It may have been cattle. I found fresh cow dung.) Because of erosion, many stones are now unreadable and some have slowly sunk into the ground. I was amazed to see how many had sunken in, just from last November. William Cassell's marker was clearly legible last November, but now has sunken completely into the ground.
As you enter the graveyard, most of the Cassells are in the first three rows towards the front of the cemetery. So are the Allens, Chances and Hennings. The Dailys are way in the back in a row near a large evergreen tree. The Becks are towards the front of the cemetery in the last three rows. (As you enter, to your left). So are the Fosters and Holockers.
The first three rows seem to have the oldest markers. I found no markers for Rosa and Joseph Beck. We will have to assume that they are buried beside their daughter in the Daily plot. Anna Daily Brash is probably buried beside her husband, since there is a large space between Moses Daily's marker (which is now completely unreadable, but is right by the evergreen) and the two children of Roy Daily.
As for my great-great-greatgrandfather and grandmother, Christian and Elizabeth Cassell, they are probably in the Cassell plot - perhaps one of the unreadable markers. I couldn't find a marker for Elmer Cassell, Anna and Ben Cassell's brother. Maybe he is near his brother, Ben. (Ben's plot is near the center towards the front of the cemetery) The day I was there, there were plastic flowers on Lily, Albert, Earl and Sara's graves. Someone, at least remembers them. Here is a list of the markers of relatives found either this visit or the visit in November of 1994.
CASSELL AND DAILY RELATIVES
Christian Cassell is the father of Anna Daily and the grandfather of Albert and Earl Daily and May Ealey. Anna Daily is the mother of Albert and Earl Daily and May Ealey. Anna Daily is my great-great grandmother.
