History Of Fulton County: Levi Bisby, farmer, sec.
17; P.O., Astoria. Levi Bisby is a native of Maryland, where he was
born in 1835. Of his parents but little in now remembered, as thev
passed away manv years ago, and Levi, while an infant, was adopted by a family
that lived in Ohio, and there he remained until he had attained his tenth
year, when he accompanied his guardian, Andrew Fry, to Astoria township.
Young Bisby had the advantage of a good common-school education and grew
to mature years of manhood upon a farm. In 1860 he was married to a
daughter of John Aten, Miss Nancy A., who has become the mother of 9 children:
Bell, Emma A., Sarah, Ella, Ettie, Lucetta, Alta M. and John W., and an infant.

Died on 20 Jul 1919 in Plymouth, Hancock Co., IL. Buried on 22 Jul 1919 in
Scott Ceme., McDonough Co., IL. Levi Bisby married Nancy Ann Aten on 23 Feb
1860 in Fulton Co., IL. Nancy Ann Aten was born on 15 Mar 1846 in PA.
Died on 27 Feb 1881 in Astoria Twp., Fulton Co., IL. Buried on 29 Feb
1881 in Salem Cemetery, Fulton Co., IL. They had the following children:
Laura Bell; Emma Adella; Mary J., died on 25 Oct 1864 in infancy, buried
in Salem Cemetery, Fulton Co., IL.; Sarah E.; Ellen Agnes; Henrietta; Loucetta;
Alta Mae; John William; Ross Levi Garfield.
