  Mrs. Richard Ashcraft died at her home in Bushnell a few days ago. Her Remains were brought here and interred in the Pittenger cemetery. She leaves a husband and several children to mourn her.
  Note: Mrs. Richard Ashcraft is Lucinda Caster, daughter of Conrad and Catherine Owens Caster, born 1836.

Mrs. Margaret M. Ashcraft Dies at Age 102
Mrs. Margaret Matilda Ashcraft, 102, of Vermont died at 12:50 a.m. Thursday at Culbertson Memorial hospital in Rushville.
  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont, the Rev. E. L. Dunavin officiating. Burial will be in the Pittenger cemetery near Ray. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
  Mrs. Ashcraft was born on Jan. 16, 1871, to Allen and Elizabeth Gain Simeral in West Union, Ohio. She married Ned W. Ashcraft on Nov. 4, 1891, in Astoria. He is deceased. She was a member of the Free Methodist church in Rushville.
  Mrs. Ashcraft is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Rose Skiles of Rushville, Mrs. Marie Cook, of Peoria, Mrs. Noreen Rudisell of Vermont, and Mrs. Marguriete Madtson of Ipava; one son Archie of Rushville; 14 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Her parents, one daughter, three brothers and three sisters died previously.
  Note: the dead daughter is Mabel E Ashcraft, 1892-1917, married to Newton William Simpson, son Rex.

Ned W. Ashcraft Died Saturday At Ray
  N. W. Ashcraft, 79, of Ray, died Saturday at his home in Ray, after a long period of failing health.
  Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Ray church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lester Banning in charge. Interment was in the Pittenger cemetery.
  Ned Watson Ashcraft, youngest son of Abner and Sarah DeCamp Ashcraft, was born Feb. 23, 1870, at Vermont, and departed from this life Oct. 1, 1949, at his home in Ray, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 8 days. He came to Ray at the age of 3 years, and there spent his entire lifetime.
  On Nov. 4, 1891, he was married to Margaret Simeral, and to this union were born the following children: Mrs. Mabel E. Simpson (deceased), Archie E. at home, Mrs. Marie E. Cook of Peoria, Mrs. Rose E. Skiles of Ray, Mrs. Noreene E. Rudisell of Vermont, and Mrs. Margaret Madtson of Ipava.
  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters: Abner Jr., Rev. Frank, Mrs. Rose Ashwood, Miss Belle and Miss Dollie Ashcraft.
  He had been in failing health for over a year, and his greatest joy and comfort was when his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were near him.
  Before he passed on he proclaimed the Grace of God, and his readiness to join his Maker and loved ones.
  He worked for the C.B.& Q. railroad, retiring in 1937 after 30 years service.

Rites to be Thursday For Paul Ashcraft, 61
  Paul E. Ashcraft, 61, of Rushville, passed away Monday at 1 p.m. at the Danville VA hospital in Danville.
  Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Worthington Funeral home with the Rev. Marvin Chaltant officiating. Burial will be in the Rushville cemetery with graveside military rites preformed by Schuyler Post #4, American Legion, of which he was a member. There will be no formal visitation, but friends may call anytime at Worthington's.
  He was born on July 5, 1920 in Ray, the son of Archie and Marie Rebman Ashcraft. He was married to Ruth (Stinson) Devore on Nov. 7 1955, in DeSoto county, Miss. and she died in Aug. of 1962. He is survived by two brothers: Allen and Richard both of Rushville; three step-sons Ralph Devore of Rushville, Arnold Devore of Beardstown and Johnny Devore, address unknown; and one step-daughter Mrs. Deloris White, address unknown. Also surviving are two aunts; Mrs. Rose Skiles of Rushville and Mrs. Noreene Rudisell of Vermont; an uncle Archie Rebman of Peoria.
  He was an Army veteran of World War II and was formerly employed by Rowland and Sloan’s Plumbing Co. and the city of Rushville.


Obituary for Richard Ashcraft

  Richard Ashcraft was born in Oakland Twp. February 1, 1839 and died October 27, 1914, at the home of his son, Lewis. He was united in marriage to Lucinda Caster July 21, 1859 in Schuyler Co. and to this union was born nine children, five of whom are living vis: George Washington of Moline, Stephen of St. Louis, Lewis,  Lafeyette and John of Peoria; and four daughters preceded him to a better world; Charolette Elizabeth, Sarah Angeline Engle, Melinda, and Stella.
  He was later married to Susan Walker Christensen, May 1, 1894 in Schuyler county.
  Besides his children he leaves to mourn his departure three sisters and one brother.
  He served three years in the Civil War as a member of Co. A., 10th Missouri Volunteers. 
  Funeral services were held in the church in Ray Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Fred Wilson of Rushville
  Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Nancy Ashcraft, Lewis and wife, Lafe and wife, and John Ashcraft, all of Peoria, Ill. Wash Ashcraft of Moline, Ill., Frank Vaughn and wife of Rushville, Mr. and Mrs. Katzenberger of Camden, Mr. and Mrs. William Tweedle of Beardstown.
  Note: He is the son of Abisha and Sarah Seaton Enloe Ashcraft.

  Richard M. "Ricky" Ashcraft of Rushville, passed away Tuesday at 12:23 p.m. in Quincy.
  Graveside services will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. at Rushville City cemetery, with the Rev. Wesley Trendle officiating. Friends may call at the Worthington Funeral home.
  A memorial has been established for benefit of the Cancer fund.
  He was born Dec. 12, 1969, in Rushville, the son of Richard and Carolyn Howard Ashcraft. He is survived by his parents; one brother, Jamie; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ashcraft of Rushville, Mr. and Mrs. Don David of Rushville, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howard of Charleston, So. Carolina; great grandparents; Archie Ashcraft and Mrs. Minnie Walker of Rushville, and Mrs. Clarence Lashbrook of Industry; and one uncle, Mike Howard.

Richard W. Ashcraft, March 9, 1922 - January 24, 1998
  Richard W. Ashcraft, 75, of Rushville, died at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, at his home.
  Born on March 9, 1922 in Rushville, the son of the late Archie and Marie Rebman Ashcraft. He married Ailene Smith in January 22, 1950 in Rushville, who survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Rich and wife Carolyne of Rushville, two grandsons, Jamie Ashcraft of Rushville and Michael Ashcraft, stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia; one great grandson Cody Ashcraft, of Rushville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Ashcraft and two brothers, Allen and Paul Ashcraft.
  A World War II, Navy veteran, he served as Schuyler County Sheriff from 1966 to 1970 and was a deputy sheriff from 1970 to 1974. He and his son owned and operated Rick and Rich's Tap in Rushville from 1975 until he retired in 1985. He was a Rushville City Alderman, a Republican Precinct Committeeman, a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ ) in Rushville, Schuyler American Legion Post #4, Voiture 40 et 8, Rushville Moose Lodge 506 and the Illinois Sheriff's Association.
  Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m.  Wednesday at the Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville with the Rev. Robert Belew officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City cemetery with military rites by Schuyler American Legion Post # 4.
  Memorials may be given to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.

  Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, at the Worthington Funeral Home, Rushville. Schuyler American Legion Post #4 will conduct military services. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private commitial services will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.
  Memorials may be given to the Schuyler Sheriff's Dept. Youth Activities Center or the Schuyler Co. DARE Program.

Robert Allen Ashcraft
  Robert Allen Ashcraft, 63, of Rushville, died on Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his home.
  He was born on July 9, 1939, in Rushville to the late Allen A. and Evelynn Chockley Ashcraft.
  Surviving are one son, Steve (wife Kathy) Ashcraft of Mt. Sterling; two granddaughters, Stevie and Kelsie Ashcraft; one niece, Tricia Lee Broughton; one aunt, Ailene Ashcraft; several cousins including Rick Ashcraft of Rushville.
  Preceding him in death were his parents, and one brother, Joe Ashcraft.
  Mr. Ashcraft was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the MP's and was a past member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4. He worked at Oscar Mayer & Co., in Beardstown and later was employed at Rebman Farms until retiring due to ill health. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and loved harness racing.
  Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. Private committal services were in the Rushville City cemetery.
  Memorials may be given to the Schuyler Sheriff's department Youth Activities Center or the Schuyler Co. DARE program.

  Barbara H. Aten, 65, of Riverside, Calif., a former Macomb resident, died Sunday, April 4 at 1 a.m. at her residence.
  She was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Macomb, the daughter of James Henry and Virginia Stuart Parker Hermetet.
  She is survived by one son, Gregory Aten of Paso Robles, Calif.; two daughters, Tracy Kingsley of Tustin, Calif. and Julie Stice of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Nancy “Nan”) Cathers of Macomb; a stepmother, Rose Hermetet of Macomb; five granddaughters, Kim Kingsley, Rebecca Kingsley, Cathy Aten, Emily Stice, Rachel Stice; and one grandson, Dan Aten.
  She was a secret control officer with the Naval Warfare Assessment Div. in Norco, Calif., before retiring in 1995.
  Graveside services are in Oakwood Cemetery, Saturday, April 19, with the Rev. Ron Green officiating. Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service in California will be at 3 p.m. April 12 in the Corona Evangelical Free Church, Corona, Calif.

  Clara Lou Aten, 83, Lancaster, Calif., formerly of Macomb, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at the Antelope Valley Health Care Center, Lancaster, Calif.
  She was born Feb. 28, 1920, in McDonough County, the daughter of Robert Paul and Beulah Mae (Kreps) Keithley. She married Keith Aten June 5, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1988.
  She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Hamilton (Ernie Carlson), Covington, Ga., Linda (Bill) Kelly, Lancaster, Calif., and Sue Thomas, Canyon Country, Calif.; two sons, Ronnie (Maria Wolkow) Aten and Rickie (Shelia) Aten, both of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Barbara Miller, Macomb; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nina McMillan, and one grandchild, Jacque Kelly.
  She was a waitress for many years. She worked at Derry's Café, Macomb, and after returning from California, was a hostess at the former Holiday Inn, Macomb. She loved bowling, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home, Macomb. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, from 4-6 p.m.
  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
  Note: hubby is Edwin "Keith" Keith Aten, son of Clarence Linn Aten and Bertha Florence Montooth.

  Lewis L. Aten, 91 of Roseville died Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at 8:53 p.m. in Community Medical Center in Monmouth.
  He was born Jan. 5, 1908 in Roseville, the son of Leander and Grace L. Trimble Aten He married Vera Webb, then Helen Leonard and Myrtle Haas, all of whom preceded him in death.
  His parents, two brothers and a sister, are also deceased.
  Survivors include: son, Dr. James in Laguna Beach, CA; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
  Mr. Aten was an electrician in Fairfax, MN, before locating in Monmouth in 1986 and moving to Roseville in 1996.
  He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Illinois Council 1, Cryptic Masons, and a former member of KYCH No. 24.
  Final rites were held July 30 at 11 a.m. in Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter, MN. Corman Memorial Home of Roseville, was in charge of arrangements where a visitation was held. A Masonic service was conducted by the Monmouth Masonic Lodge on Thursday July 29.
  Memorials may be made to the Cryptic Mason's Medical Fund.

  Marjorie M. Aten, 82, Macomb, died at 1:49 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
  She was born July 30, 1921, in Bethel Township, the daughter of Elva and Inez Faye Miller Robinson. She married Roscoe Aten Oct. 6, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives.
  She is also survived by one son, Larry (Louise) Aten, Jasksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Janet (Richard) Strader, Marietta; nine grandchildren; Rusty (Michelle Strader) Torman, Kendal (Melissa Strader) Watkins, Steve (Cassi) Aten, Steve (Sheryl Aten) Sell, Jed (Shanna) Aten, Bill (Lory) Aten, Tom Aten, Helen Aten, and Dan Aten; one granddaughter-in-law, Jana Strader; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Toland and Betty Herche, both of Rushville.
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Monty Strader and one sister, Louise Scott.
  She lived all of her life in McDonough County. She was a homemaker and worked with Roscoe on the farm. She was an active member of the Good Hope United Methodist Church and the Tri-County Saddle Club until it disbanded. She was also a member of the Rolling Rivers Camping Club.
  Services were held Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb, with the Rev. Betty Coffey and Althea Alton officiating.
  Burial was in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb.
  Memorials may be made to either the Good Hope United Methodist Church or the Cancer Fund.

  Russell E. Aten, 85, Bushnell, died at 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
  He was born Sept. 2, 1919, in Ray, the son of Archie O. and Lora (Frye) Aten. He married Constance L. Kee March 16, 1946, in Industry. She survives.
  He is also survived by two daughters, Gwen Quick, Galesburg, and Karen Grimm, Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Sauder, Clearwater, Fla.
  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
  He was a member of the Bushnell United Methodist Church, and a 50 year member of the Masons. He farmed in the area for many years and later worked as a mechanic for Wrestler Implement Co., Bushnell, and Fayhee Implement Co., Prairie City. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
  Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell, with the Rev. Trisha Chapman officiating.
  Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at the funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.
  Memorials may be made to Bushnell United Methodist Church or the Special Care Unit at Wesley Village, Macomb.

  Albert Dale Bartlow, 87, Augusta died at 5:23 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2003 in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
  He was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Huntsville Township in Schuyler County, the son of William Earl and Ruth (Haber Tomlinson) Bartlow. He married Bettie Lea Bunnell, Nov. 28, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz. She died April 14, 1998.
  He survived by one son, Bruce (Marcia) Bartlow, Augusta; one daughter, Anne (Peter) Helgesen, Stockton, Calif.; three grandchildren, Andrew Bartlow, Geneseo and his fiance, Kamille Heikes, Ottumwa, Iowa, Aaron Bartlow, Mahomet and his fiance, Brekin Strong, Macomb, and Kimberly (Dr. Bradley) Wolter, Albers; and one brother, Darwin Bartlow, Huntsville.
  In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ila Mae Toland.
  He was a lifelong farmer. He was a graduate of Augusta High School and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. He was a member of the United Church of Augusta.
  He was a World War ll United States Army Air Corps veteran. He was a 50-year member of J.L. Anderson Lodge 318 in Augusta and served as a board member of the Augusta School District. He was a director and officer of the Augusta Farmers Co-op for 46 years and a founder of the Illinois Paint Horse Association. He was widely known in the area as an avid horseman. He enjoyed raising and showing paint horses and going on trail rides at the Weinberg-King State Park in Augusta and the cross country trail rides in Eminence, Mo., for many years. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed being a part of their daily lives.
  Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2003, in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta by the Rev. Butch Reneker officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta.

  Darwin Earl Bartlow, 87, Golden Good Shepherd Home, formerly of Huntsville, died at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
  He was born March 18, 1917, in Huntsville Township, the son of William Earl and Ruth (Tomlinson) Bartlow. He married Corrine Burmood March 19, 1938, in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She preceded him in death March 22, 1994.
  He is survived by one son, Kay (Sherry) Bartlow, Augusta; one daughter, Carol (James) Kerker, Augusta; six grandchildren, Brandon Bartlow, Springfield, Shawn Bartlow, Beardstown, Elizabeth Bartlow, Nashville, Tenn., Melanie (Jeff) Dunn, Macomb, Kevin (Lisa) Kerker, Augusta, Jamie (Caren) Kerker, Huntsville; six great grandchildren; and a special cousin, James Bartlow, Rushville.
  In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Ila Mae Toland; and one brother, Albert Dale Bartlow.
  He was a retired farmer and a member of the Huntsville Methodist Church. He graduated from the Augusta High School. He was a 50 year member of Huntsville Lodge #465 AF&AM. He loved raising and racing standard bred horses for 40 years.
  Funeral were held Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, with the Rev. Douglas Rettig officiating.
  Burial was at the Huntsville Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the Golden Good Shepherd Home.

  James R. "Rude" Billingsley, 82, of Huntsville, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
  He was born Nov. 30, 1920, in New Salem Township, McDonough County, to the late Clarence and Gladys C. Morris Billingsley.  He married Birdie Cameron May 20, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo.
  She survives, along with a daughter, Rosemary Hamm (husband Ronald) of Peoria; a daughter-in-law, Linda Billingsley of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, C. E. Billingsley of Rushville, Morris Billingsley of Camden, Don Billingsley of Industry, and Wayne Billingsley of Athens; and three sisters, Rosalie Morrell of Camden, Betty Etter of Rushville, and Barbara Taylor of Burlington, Iowa.
  He was preceded in death by his son, Clarence Ira "CI" Billingsley; a sister, Lucille Finch; and three brothers, Lester, Harold and Robert Billingsley.
  Rude was a lifelong farmer.  He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force Corps in World War II, where he was a radio operator and ball turret gunner on a B17 with the 8th Air Force.  He flew 30 missions and received the Distinguish Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Clusters and the European/African /Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal.
  Private funeral services were held on Monday at the Huntsville Cemetery with Rev. C. W. Reneker officiating.  Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of the services.  Schuyler American Legion Post 4 conducted military rites Sunday at the funeral home.
  Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.

  James R. "Rude" Billingsley, 82, Huntsville, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
  He was born Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1920, in New Salem Twp., McDonough Co. the son of Clarence and Gladys C. (Morris) Billingsley. He married Birdie Cameron May 20, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

  He was a Staff Sergeant Amy Air Force WWII where he was a radio operator and ball turret gunner on a B-17 with the 8th Air Force. He flew 30 missions and received the Distinguish Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Clusters and the European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal.
  Private funeral services were held on Monday at the Huntsville Cemetery with the Rev. C. W. Reneker officiating. Burial followed.
  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the American Heart Association.

  Huntsville - James R. ''Rude'' Billingsley, 82, of Rural Route 1 died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
  Born Nov. 30, 1920, in New Salem Township, McDonough County, to Clarence and Gladys C. Morris Billingsley, he married Birdie Cameron on May 20, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.
  Also surviving are one daughter, Rosemary (and Ronald) Hamm of Peoria; four brothers, C.E. of Rushville, Morris of Camden, Don of Industry and Wayne of Athens; three sisters, Rosalie Morrell of Camden, Betty Etter of Rushville and Barbara Taylor of Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by one son, Clarence ''CI,'' one sister and three brothers.
  He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran, serving as a staff sergeant, radio operator and ball turret gunner on a B-17 bomber with the Eighth Air Force. He flew 30 missions and received several medals.
  He was a lifelong farmer.
  Private graveside services will be at Huntsville Cemetery on Monday. The Rev. C.W. Reneker will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 tonight at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville, where military rites will be accorded at 6 p.m. by the Schuyler County American Legion Post 4.

  Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Delores Jean "Dee" Birdsell; his mother, Edna Birdsell of Chandlerville; five sons, Thomas Allen (Judy) Birdsell of Winchester, Michael Lee Birdsell of Philadelphia, Michael Ray Cook of Littleton, Raymond Matthew (Marti) Cook of Browning, and Dugger Armstrong (Patti) Cook of Palmer, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Teresa Ann) Huggins of Canton and Jennifer Diane Birdsell of Champaign; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas William (Linda) Birdsell of Beardstown, James H. (Chris) Birdsell of Philadelphia and Gary Wayne Birdsell of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Larry (Alma) Schall of Beardstown, Mrs. J.W. (Caroline) Rhea of Waukegan and Mrs. Don (Pat) Bingham of Chandlerville; and numerous nephews and nieces.
  He was preceded in death by his father.
  He was of the Baptist faith.
  He was a graduate of Chandlerville High School. He was a United States Navy veteran. He had been a truck driver and had worked on a cattle ranch in the western states before his retirement.
  Cremation rites have been accorded. Family and friends were invited to meet at the Birdsell residence, 8731 CR, 150N, Chandlerville at 11 a.m., December 11, for a time of fellowship.   Cyril E. Blackburn, 91, of Macomb, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. He was born on October 18, 1910 in Brooklyn the son of the late Edgar and Etta (Stucker) Blackburn. He married Reatha Reeves an August 4, 1934 in Eureka and she survives.
  Also surviving are two sons, Gene and wife (Rose) and Jim and wife (Sally Jo) all of Brooklyn; three grandchildren, JoAnn Billingsley and husband (Dennis), Mareia Azbell and husband (Kerry), and David Blackburn and wife (Denise); 11 great grandchildren, Jaime, Ryan, Chris, and Jaci Billingsley, Jenna, Traci, and Jordan Azbell, Marcie, James D., Shelbie and Jaynie Blackburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and two grandsons, Steve and Mark Blackburn.
  He attended Brooklyn Grade School and High School and graduated from Augusta High School. He was a lifelong farmer in the Brooklyn area. He was a member of the Brooklyn United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. He first joined the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. then later transferred his membership to the Camden Lodge #648 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the Masonic lodge for over 50 years. He served on the board of the Agricultural Soil and Conservation Service. He also served on the Brooklyn School Board and Schuyler Unit 1 School Board.
  Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Brooklyn United Methodist Church with the Reverends Dixie Croxton and Bill Hesseldenz officiating. Burial was followed in the Brooklyn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Brooklyn United Methodist Church, Brooklyn Cemetery, or Lafayette Square in Macomb.

  He farmed for over 50 years and also worked for Cargill Seed Company, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Bader Christian Church, where he served as Elder of the Church.

  Ellen Dorcas Esslinger Davis, 100, died at the home of her daughter in Essex Junction, Vt. Jan. 6, 2005.
  She was born Nov. 3, 1904, in Rushville, the daughter of Henry G. and Lydia Ommert Esslinger. She married J. Cary Davis in 1936. He preceded her in death.
  She is survived by Don (Carol) Davis, Tucson, Ariz., Karan (Steve) Cutler, Essex Junction, Vt.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
  She was educated in the Rushville public schools. Immediately after graduation from high school, she taught all eight grades in a nearby one-room school.  She later moved to Evanston, to attend National College of Education.  An honor student, she completed the four-year program in three years and was a student teacher at Chicago's famous Hull House, where she met Jane Addams.
  After her marriage, they moved to Carbondale, where they lived until her husband’s retirement from Southern Illinois University.  They then moved to California to be near several of her siblings.
  She had celebrated her 100th birthday in November in California with many friends and family members including Mr. and Mrs. John Carlberg, Jerry Riggins and Judy Witten, all of Macomb.
  She was a woman of great energy and talent.  In addition to teaching for many years in Illinois, she was an accomplished weaver and block-print maker.  She taught herself to knit with wire and baling string when only 7, the beginning of a lifetime of doing needlecrafts, which she continued up to her death.

  She was born April 7, 1906, in Macomb, the daughter of Charlie and Minnie Bell Barnes Thompson.  She married Banks Otis Mooday on Sept. 6, 1924, in Galesburg. He died May 2, 1959. She married Harry Marion Earhart on Oct. 14, 1962, in Monmouth. He died Feb. 15, 1974.
  Surviving are many cousins, including Martha Cox and Solon Thompson, both of Monmouth.
  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen King.
  She was reared and educated in Macomb. She was a licensed practical nurse and did private nursing, mainly in Monmouth.
  She was a former member of First Christian Church, a former member of Community Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and a former member of the LaMoine Christian Nursing Home Auxiliary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Monmouth.
  An Eastern Star graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Warren County Memorial Park.

  Mrs. Eddington was born Sept. 27, 1886, in Oakland township, in Schuyler county, a daughter of Ernest and Clara Swift Toland. She resided in Schuyler and McDonough Counties for all of her lifetime except for 12 years spent at Butler Co., Missouri. She was married Feb. 10, 1910, to Oliver Eddington. Who died in 1951.
  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frances Maguire, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Mrs. Lillie Mae Akers, of Littleton; four sons, Cecile E. of Industry, William of Littleton, Thomas Wayne of Macomb, and Roy, now serving with the Navy in Alaska; two brothers, Roy Toland and Manford, both of Industry; a sister Addie Toland of Industry; and seven grandchildren. A son, two brothers, Fred and Arthur Toland and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Jones died previously.

  Oliver F. Eddington, 71 of Camden, formerly of Industry, died at Culbertson Memorial Hospital at 3 p.m. Sunday. He was stricken last Monday with a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services were held at the Clugston funeral home in Industry Tuesday, the Rev. H. H. Mullen officiating. Burial was in Camp Creek cemetery.
  He was born March 16, 1880 in Industry township, a son of William and Emma Hucker Eddington. He moved to Hillsboro in 1910 and was a farmer and road worker there. In 1924 he moved back to McDonough county and three years ago moved to Camden. Since 1924 he had been engaged in carpentry and machine work. He was a member of the Ebenezer church.
  On February 10, 1910 he married Mrytle Toland, who survives with six sons and daughters, Mrs. Frances Maguire of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Cecil E. Eddington, and William Eddington of Industry, Roy O. Eddington of Moffitt Field, (unreadable), Mrs. Lily Mae Akers of Camden, and Thomas Wayne Eddington of Macomb. Seven grandchildren and four brothers and sisters, Tom Eddington of Blandinsville, Bert Eddington and Mrs. Lily Robeson of Macomb, and Mrs. Ann Butcher of Colchester, also survive. One son died in infancy and a brother, John Eddington, is deceased.

Wm. A. Ewing Dies After Prolonged Illiness
  William A. Ewing, a resident of Rushville township for almost forty years, died at his home six miles northeast of Rushville Sunday morning at 5:30 o'clock.  His illness had been prolonged, marked at times by serious relapses from which he rallied, but never regained the strength to restore him to health.
  During his long residence in Rushville township, Mr. Ewing was ever
esteemed as one of the worthy citizens of the community, a man who held the treasured friendships of his neighbors and associates.
  Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. A. Burgess. The interment was in the Rushville cemetery. 
  William Addison Ewing, second son of Joseph Bigelow and Hannah (McManus) Ewing, was born Jan. 1, 1859, near Marietta, Ill., and departed this life Oct. 5th, 1924, at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 5 days.
  His parents were among the early settlers, coming to this state from Ohio.
  In 1880 he was united in marriage with Ellen Marquis, who preceded him to death Jan. 6, 1895. To this union were born four children: Emma Linkhart, Grant's Pass, Oregon; Hattie Reiley, Oskaloosa, Iowa; Ralph J., Webster, Iowa, and Hal A. of Beardstown, Ill.
  April 20, 1897, he was united in marriage to Isabelle Trone. To this union were born three children, two dying in infancy, and Joseph A. at home.
  There remains to mourn his death his wife, three sons, two daughters, and fifteen grandchildren.
  He was the last of his family, his two brothers and two sisters having preceded him in death.  Mr. Ewing became united with the church during the early years of his life. 
  One of the predominant features of his nature was his love for his family and grandchildren.  He loved to have his family visit him and with them the happest(sic) moments of his life were spent.
  In 1886 he came to Schuyler county, where he has since resided.  He was thorely(sic) honest in every way and commanded the respect of all who know him.

  Dorothy F. Drake Farwell, 77, Augusta, passed away at 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, June 13 in the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
  She was born on December 25, 1923 in Huntsville, the daughter of George Francis and Faye (Steiner) Drake. She married Hubert W. Farwell on February 15, 1947 in Macomb. He survives. She was a homemaker and an avid knitter for which she had received numerous ribbons and awards. She also enjoyed genealogy. She was of the Methodist Faith.
  Survivors are: one daughter; Marsha Ellis of Plymouth; two sons; Charles Farwell and his wife Sally of Rushville and Eric Farwell and his wife Kris of Rural Plymouth; five grandchildren; Steve Ellis of Plainfield, Ind., David Ellis of Plymouth, Jake, Courtney and Erin Farwell of Rural Plymouth; one great-grandson; Bryson Ellis of Plainfield, Ind.; one brother; Kenneth Drake of Wataga.
  She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Drake.
  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta with Rev. Patsy Spratt officiating. Burial was in Huntsville Cemetery. Visitation were held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.

  She was born May 4, 1907, in McDonough County, the daughter of Charles and Bell Roudebush Springer. She married Henry Clay Fowler in August 1928 in Macomb. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1959.
  She is survived by one daughter, Carol Novy, Elkart, Ind.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Helen Springer, Colona. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bradford Lee Fowler; her twin brother, Justus Springer; two sisters; and two other brothers.
  Jesta graduated from Western Illinois Teachers College in Macomb in 1926, and taught in Brooklyn Township for many years. She last taught in Huntsville. She lived her early life in Schuyler County and later in McDonough County. She moved to the Everly House in Macomb and then moved to Prairie City Nursing Center in 1997.
  Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at the Rosemont Cemetery in Plymouth, with the Rev. Lon Springer officiating.

  She was born in Doddsville on May 4, 1919, to William and Nell Lowderman Pollock. She married Ray O. Foxall on Nov. 27, 1946, in Macomb. He died on Feb. 6, 1970.
  She is survived by: one son, Ron Foxall, Macomb; five daughters; Linda (Fred) Smith, Bushnell, Judy (Roy) Johlfs, Macomb, Rita (Glen) Vos, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Nancy Rittenhouse, Macomb, and Diana (Vincent) White, Macomb; two stepsisters, Eleanor Shirrell and Olive Coker, both of Macomb; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Karl Pollock.
  She had lived in Macomb most of her life where she was a member of the Assembly of God Church for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker and cleaned offices and homes. She worked as an activities supervisor for the McDonough County Rehabilitation Center.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb, with the Revs. Gordon Jones and Chuck Peterson officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

  She was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Appleton, Ark., to Wesley Dealon and Allie Rachel Almond Bartlett. She married Theodore Garrison July 13, 1935, at Dover, Ark. He survives.
  She is also survived by one son, Jack Bartlett (Kerri) Garrison, of Kearney, Neb.; two danghters, Cynthia Stiffler, Macomb, and Mary Ellen (David) Dannels, Lake Villa; one brother, Theron Bartlett, Russellville, Ark.; one sister, Doyle Estelle Parnell, Searcy, Ark.; six grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and an infant daughter.
  Mrs. Garrison was educated in the Russellville, Ark., public schools, Arkansas Polytechnic College, and Ouachita Baptist College. Although she taught in several Arkansas public schools in her early life, she preferred, after she had children, to devote her attention to her home, her family and her church.
  She moved to Macomb with her family in l 960 when her husband joined the faculty of Western Illinois University. Despite graduate studies in library science, she never sought employment or a career of her own but continued to devote herself to service to her family and her church.
  She was a 40-year member of the First Baptist Church of Macomb, where she held different offices and continued active in American Baptist Women's work until the time of her death.
  Funeral services were held at Monday, March 26, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Macomb. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Russellville, Ark. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

  Haroland Lee Gaylor, Jr. was born September 22, 1936 in Muskogee, Ok., to Haroland Lee and Mabel Ashwood Gaylor. He died Sunday, March 17,2002 at his home in Coweta, Ok.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ruth Ann; and his Grandparents.
  Survivors include: sons, who served as Honorary Pallbearers, Rick Gaylor, Randy Gaylor and his wife Susan, Rocky Gaylor and Rusty Gaylor and his wife Ammie, all of Broken Arrow, Ok.; brothers Guy A. Gaylor, Ray Don Gaylor and Mike Gaylor, all of Wagoner, Ok.: sisters Donna Jenkins of Tulsa, Ok.; Lillian Turley of Wagoner, Ok.; Linda French of Beggs, Ok., 10 Grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
  Arrangements were by Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Ok.  His ashes were interned on Friday, March 29, 2002.

  Gaylor was born September 6, 1915, at Ray, Illinois, to Horace Raymond and Effie Bell Montooth Ashwood and died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at the Forrest Hill Nursing Center in Broken Arrow.
  She came to Muskogee at the age of six and after a short time, moved to the Wagoner area.  She attended the Courtney School in the Gaylor Bend area.  She was a member of the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church of Wagoner, where she taught Sunday school for a period of time before her illness.
  On January 13, 1934, she was married to Haroland Lee Gaylor, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1978.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ruth Ann; a granddaughter,  Mellissa Gaylor; great-granddaughter, Cyndal Boyles; her brothers, Harold, Wayne, and Robert Ashwood; and her sisters, Ruth Phelps, Pauline Cox and Lucille Dunnaway.
  Survivors include four sons, H. Lee Gaylor Jr., Guy and Mary Gaylor, Ray Don and Linda Gaylor, and Mike and Carline Gaylor; her daughters: Donna and Floyd Jenkins, Lillian and Allen Turley, and Linda and John French; 11 grandsons; two granddaughters and 17 great-grandchildren; her brother , Raymond Ashwood and two-half sisters, Marietta Brady, and Verna Johnson, a brother-in-law, J. T. Gaylor; and a sister-in-law, Clara Ashwood.
  Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.  Funeral arrangements and interment were under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.

  A World War II Navy veteran, he served as a pharmacist mate, stationed in the South Pacific. He was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25.
  He worked in the medical field in the Chicago area most of his life before retiring in 1984. He attended Roosevelt College and the University of Pennsylvania.
  He was of the Baptist faith.

  Served on the Littleton and Garrison school boards and the A.S.C.S. board.
  Services will be at 11 am Monday at the Worthington Funeral Home,with the Rev. Dixie Croxton officiating.   Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
  Burial will be in the Rushville City cemetery.

  She is survived by one son, Ron (Sue) Hay, Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Verjene Hay, Springfield; two grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Dannell, and Kim (David) Denney; and five great-grandchildren, James Matthew Dannell, Megan Emily Dannell, Laura Elizabeth Denney, Alys Katherine Denney, and Henna Camille Denney.
  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Crum; and two sisters, Mabel Markword and Helen Goldsborough.
  She graduated from WIU with bachelor and master’s degrees. She taught school in Schuyler County and Macomb for 42 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of McDonough County Unit 25 Chapter of Retired School Teachers and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Wesley United Methodist Women and the Acts 29 Prayer Group.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Smith. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 22, 2005, from 5-7 p.m. at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

  Born January 28, 1922, in Woodstock Township, Schuyler county, to Jessie L. and Florence Ethel Shaver Butler, she married Kermit Carlton Heitz on February 20, 1944 in Rushville. He died May 8, 1984.
  She also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.   
  Surviving are four sons, Dennis (and Joyce), Dean (and Kay), and David (and Bonnie), all of Rushville and Danny (and Sandra) of Colchester; two brothers, Cecil Butler of Peoria and Tracy Butler of Tacoma, Washington; one sister, Christine Miller of Sun City Arizona; eight grandchildren; and one great-daughter.
  She was a member of the Schuyler Senior Center.
  She volunteered at Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home and H.E.L.P. Center.  She also helped with Red Cross blood drives for many years.
  Services will be at 2 p.m.Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Cahill will officate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.

  Harry C. Henderson, 96, Macomb, died at 1:35 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, at McDonough District Hospital.
  He was born March 12, 1905, in Scotland Township, McDonough County, to Charlie and Agnes McMillan Henderson. He married Ethel Cox in Scotland Township on March 20, 1931. She died on April 20, 1990.
  Harry is survived by two daughters, Elise (Charles) Henderson and Harriet Oblak, both of rural Macomb; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
  In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
  He was a lifelong resident of McDonough County, where he worked as a farmer and as a self-employed electrician. He was a long time member of the Camp Creek Presbyterian Church and, most recently, a member of the Macomb Church of Christ. He was also a member of the McDonough County Farm Bureau.
  Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2001, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb, with the Rev. Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.

  Pheoba Fern Frakes McCullum Hoing, 89, Macomb, died at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, at the Macomb Senior Living Center.
  She was born Jan. 5, 1912, in Schuyler County, the daughter of John W. and Pheobe B. Stoneking Frakes. She first married Earnest McCullum; she then married Alvin Hoing. Both are deceased.
  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Flora Gilbert; three brothers, Warnie Frakes, Wesley Frakes and Harry Frakes; and two half brothers, Ray Frakes and Ellis Scott.
  She worked at McDonough District Hospital and Western Illinois University. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
  Funeral services were Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Larry Abbott officiating. Burial was in Stoneking Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene.

  Guy Hulvey, 73, of Rushville, died at 8 a.m. Feb. 12 in Culbertson Memorial hospital.
  Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roby Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Paul Williamson officiating.  Burial was in Rushville cemetery.
  He was born in Ipava Nov. 29, 1902, a son of George and Sarah Strode Hulvey.  He married Marie Smith on June 1, 1926, in Monmouth.
  Mr. Hulvey was a retired farmer and a member of Bethany church.
  Surviving are his wife; two sons, Eugene of Camden, and Maynard of Rushville; a daughter, Mrs. Marlene Briggs of Rushville, seven grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Workman of Astoria, Mrs. Frances Roberts of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Freda Day of Sunland, Calif.  Also surviving are two brothers, Maurice of Ipava, and Glen of Rushville.
  His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

  Harold L. Jones, 82, La Harpe, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at 9 a.m. at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
  He was born Sept. 23, 1922 in Lancaster, Mo., the son of Harley and Fern Brunk Jones. On Jan. 1, 1947 he married Mildred Russell in Dallas City. She survives.
  He is also survived by three daughters, Linda (Wayne) Peacock, Rushville, Anita (Bill) Casey, Keokuk, Iowa, Kim Lenix, Bushnell; one son, Alan (Vickie) Jones, Milwaukee, Wis.; 14 grandchildren, including Jared Jones who made his home with Harold and Mildred for the past six years; seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Harley Jones of Princeton, Mo. and Bob Jones, La Harpe; two sisters, Louise White and Carol Sheffler, both of LaHarpe; and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Jones; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom and Darol Jones; and five sisters, Betty Roderick, Ruth Peterson, Pearl Duncan, Sybil Sloop and Pauline Jones.
  Jones was a Veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. Early in life, he farmed near La Harpe, Biggsville and Alexis. He returned to La Harpe in 1960 where he operated a produce and feed store. He also operated a grocery store in La Harpe with his brother, Tom. He worked for the Champion Company in Burlington, Iowa, from 1960 until retiring in 1988. He was a member of the La Harpe Masonic Lodge #195 and a 51-year member and past commander of the La Harpe American Legion Post 301 .He was also an active member of the U.A.W. Union and had served two terms on the Hancock County Board.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at the La Harpe United Methodist Church with the Rev. Diane Bigley officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the La Harpe Cemetery. Friends may call after4:30 p.m. Friday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home, La Harpe where masonic rites will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by visitation with the family until 9 p.m.
  A memorial fund has been established for the La Harpe United Methodist Church, La Harpe American Legion and the La Harpe Masonic Lodge.

  She is also survived by two sons, Robert LaVerne Jones, Chris Andrew Jones, both of Rushville; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Allen Eugene Jones.
  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rushville.
  Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church, Rushville with the Rev. Paul Arnold officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

She was born October 14, 1922, in Rushville, the daughter of Samuel and Maude (Goodin) Wright. She married Roland Lenhnhausen on April 28, 1945, in Fairview. He survives.
  Also surviving are one son, William (Susan) Quinlan Lehnhausen of Fairbanks, Alaska; one daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Driscoll of Mapleton: three grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Wright of Canton, one sister , Ruth White of Canton.
  She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
  She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell and also worked worked for Graham Hospital.
  She was a homemaker for 54 years and was a quilter.
  Graveside services were held January 13 at White Chapel Memory Gardens, Canton, Decon Dennis Brown officiating. Murphy- Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton was in charge of arrangements.  Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens

  She is survived by her mother, Susan Maxine Bartlow, Macomb; one son, Greg Lux, Longmont, Colo.; two daughters, Sherri Bowman, Lindon, Utah, and Robyn Uibel, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Henry Richardson, Colchester; and many nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her father, James William Richardson.
  Her main passions in life were golfing and traveling and her most celebrated qualities are her love of life, family and friends.
  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT, (435) 673-2454.
  Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, from 6-8 p.m., and again, one hour prior to services, both at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Ivins City Cemetery.

  He was born Sept. 19, 1913, in Paw Paw, the son of John B. and Bessie Cale Martin. He married Ruby F. Ehrhart May 10, 1935, in Rushville. She survives.
  He is also survived by three sons, Stephen K. Martin, Torrance, Calif., Paul Martin, Garden Grove, Calif., and Gale Edmund Martin, Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Elaine Folsom, San Dimas, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ursula Poi; three brothers; and one sister.
  He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Western Illinois University in 1949. He taught school in Jacksonville, Macomb, Nauvoo and Brimfield. He also taught in California.

  Larry L. McClelland, 67, West Point, died of natural causes at 2:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, on a farm near Loraine.
  He was born March 17, 1937, in Bowen, the son of Albert Leland and Hazel (Phillips) McClelland. He married Karol Phelps July 5, 1964, in Plymouth. She survives.
  He also survived by his step-mother, Eileen McClelland, Bowen; one son, Michael (Kati) McClelland, Bowen; two daughters, Valerie (Steve) Peterson, West Point, and Vicki (John) Eilers, Augusta; seven grandchildren, Bailey, Tristan and Kolby McClelland, Shelby and Kayla Peterson and Kody and Cole Eilers; one brother, Ronald K. (Karen) McClelland, Mendon; one aunt, Carlene Phillips, Bowen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents.
  He was a life-long farmer and well-known in the area for raising and breeding Angus cattle. He was a 1955 graduate and valedictorian of Bowen High School. He was a member of the Bowen Christian Church where he served as elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. He was a 51-year member of the American Angus Association and was selected as the Hancock County Cattleman of the Year in 1989. He had been a member and secretary of the Western Illinois Angus Association for 15 years and belonged to the Lamoine Valley Angus Association where he served as president for one year. He served as a 4-H leader for 20 years and also on the Bowen School Board for a term. He presently served on the Bowen Cemetery Board. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
  Services were held at Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, in Bowen Christian Church by the Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiating.
  Burial was at Bowen Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to Bowen Christian Church.

  She was born July 6, 1923, in Indian Point Township, Knox County, the daughter of John and Minnie (Dawdy) Schisler.  She married Tom J. Sawyer.  He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1960.  She then married Robert K. Morris Dec. 16, 1961, in Berwick.  He survives.
  She is also survived by three sons, Tom (Linda) Sawyer, Avon, Rodney (Nancy) Sawyer, Eagle River, Alaska, and Richard (Rita) Sawyer, Cameron; three daughters, Cindy Tinker and Sharon (Mark) Harmon, Peoria, and Joyce (Rudy) Carlson, Brimfield; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
  In addition to her first husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
  She had lived in the Abingdon and Berwick areas all her life.  She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1941 and was a member of the Half Century Alumni.
  She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the bookkeeping for Berwick Township for several years.
  She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday school and was a song leader.
  Services were held Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at the Berwick Baptist Church, Berwick, with the Rev. Melody Andrews officiating.  Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.
  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, Abingdon, was in charge of arrangements.

  He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Joseph Spencer.
  Mr. Robertson farmed his entire life in Browning Township and was a member of the Schuyler County Farm Bureau.
  Services were Tuesday at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating.  Burial was in Ridgeville Cemetery at Browning.
