Archie Rebman
  Pekin - Archie Ray Rebman, 86, of 1262 Florence Ave., Apt. C, died at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1993, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
  Born Sept. 19, 1906, in Rushville to James and Sarah Green Rebman, he married Mary Nina Landers on Nov. 29, 1944, in Peoria. She survives.
  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Archalene) Gossett of Burlington, Wash., and Mrs. Donald (Diane) Smith of Seattle, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Frederick (Lorene) Reis of Pekin; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.
  He worked for Caterpillar Inc. during World War II. He then was a self-employed vegetable wholesaler in the Peoria area until retiring in 1972. He was a member of Parkway Christian Church in Pekin; Mohammed Temple, Shrine, in Peoria; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; Victoria White Shrine Chapter 83 in Pekin; Order of the Amaranth; Joseph Robbins Lodge 930, AF&AM, in Peoria; Peoria Odd Fellows Lodge; and Peoria Chapter Order of Eastern Star, where he was a Past Worthy Patron.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

  Rushville - Dorothy Maxine "Dottie" Rebman, 70, of Rushville died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
  Born Aug. 4, 1934, in Beardstown to William Floyd and Vera L. Wardell Becker, she married James L. "Big Jim" Rebman on Oct. 17, 1953, in Pleasant View. He died June 30, 1997.
  She also was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
  Surviving are two daughters, Linda Rebman of Rushville and Tammy (and John) Rodems of Middletown.
  She and her husband owned and operated Rebman's Disposal, B&B Furniture and Rebman's Concessions. She owned Dottie's CB Shop.
  She also worked as a cook at Ping's Pantry and at Rushville High School.
  She attended First United Methodist Church in Rushville.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wood-Roby Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Rigler will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Messerer Cemetery near Frederick.

  Macomb - Juanita C. Rebman, 87, of Macomb died at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1993, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
  Born Aug. 2, 1905, in Schuyler County to Charles D. and Mary Caroline Unger Cunningham, she married Francis F. Rebman on Aug. 29, 1928. He died Jan. 14, 1972. Three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are one son, the Rev. Dan of Macomb; and two grandchildren.
  A graduate of Western Illinois University, she taught school in Schuyler County for 15 years and in Macomb for more than 50 years. She taught fourth grade at Grant School in Macomb for 17 years.
  She was a member of First Christian Church in Macomb, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member and past treasurer of McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary.
  Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home in Macomb. The Rev. A. Lee Unger will officiate. Cremation has been accorded, and burial of ashes will be in Rushville Cemetery at a later date.

  Macomb - Roxanna L. ''Roxie'' Rebman, 52, of Macomb died at 4:56 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
  Born Feb. 26, 1950, in McDonough County to Sam and Lee Constable Ellwood, she married C. Dan Rebman on March 9, 1969, in Macomb. He died Jan. 4, 1998.
  Surviving are one son, Nathan of Adair; one daughter, Aimee (and Michael) Barr of Adair; her parents of Las Vegas; and one sister, Connie Rice of Las Vegas.
  She was an artist and worked for Stites Medicare Service for many years. She attended Western Illinois University.
  She was a member of Macomb Community Theatre.
  She was a member of First Christian Church in Macomb.
  A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Macomb Assembly of God Church. The Rev. A. Lee Unger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home. Cremation will be accorded, and burial of ashes will be in Rushville City Cemetery in Rushville.

  Mervin A. Redenius, 75, of 2273 N. 2900th Ave., Bowen, died at 6:48 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2002 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
  He was born Dec. 9, 1926, near LaPrairie, the son of Albert J. and Minnie F. (Herren) Redenius. He married Peggy A. Shaw Sept. 22, 1953, in Golden. She survives.
  He is survived by: a daughter, Pam (John) Tjaden, Bowen; a daughter-in-law, Denise (David) Nixon, Camp Point; two grandchildren, Jacob Redenius and Jessica Nixon, Camp Point; a brother, Virgil (Helen) Totsch, LaPrairie; a sister, Lorene Totsch, Augusta; and several nieces an nephews.
  He was preceded in death by: two sons, Michael and Matthew; a sister, Margaret Greenough and two brother-in-law, Ed Totsch and Frank Greenough.
  He had served in Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Golden American Legion and was a 4-H leader for several years. He had farmed near LaPrairie and worked at Long's Implement Co. in Mt. Sterling.
  Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2002 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden by the Rev. James Trutwin. Burial was in the Golden Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Golden Windmill.

  Erma Jean Roberts, 74, of RR Plymouth, Ill. passed away at 11:10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2002 in the Emergency Room of McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
  She was born March 22, 1927 in Brooklyn Township in Schuyler County, Ill. the daughter of Cleo and Bernice (Switzer) Waymack. She was married to Harlow Roberts on March 9, 1946 in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.
  She was a homemaker and attended Guinea Country School and Brooklyn High School and was a 1945 graduate of Plymouth High School. She loved and devoted her life to her family. Her grandsons loved her cooking and she always made them their favorite meals. She loved that her family was close by and treasured their stopping by often to visit and talk. She also enjoyed gardening and her flowers when she was still able and could see.
  Survivors are: two sons, Darrell Roberts and his wife Sue of Plymouth and Marvin Roberts of Plymouth; two grandsons, Corey and Taylor Roberts of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her parents.
  Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2002 in Round Prairie Cemetery near Plymouth with Chaplain Ron Green officiating. There will be no formal visitation but friends called at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, Ill. Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday until time of services. Memorials may be made to Round Prairie Cemetery.

  Browning - Clarence "Bruce" Robertson, 90, of Browning died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 1996, at his home.
  He was born Feb. 3, 1906, in Browning to Fred and Ethel McFetridge Robertson.
  Surviving are three brothers, Keith of Gardner, Maine, Guy of Browning and J. C. of Beardstown; one sister, Maude Leighton of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
  He worked as a painter for the CB&Q Railroad for many years. He was sexton of Browning Cemetery.
  Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Browning Cemetery. Jim Shirley will officiate. There will be no visitation. Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

  Born Aug. 4, 1923, in Bluff Springs to Thomas William and Frances Alice Pond Johnston, she married Richard Howard Robertson on Feb. 18, 1945, in Beardstown. He died June 22, 1982, in Peoria.
  She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
  Surviving are two sons, Dr. Richard Michael ''Mike'' (and Nancy) of Coopersburg, Pa., and Daniel (and Cheri) of Chicago; one sister, Ruth Perrine of Chillicothe; and seven grandchildren.
  A graduate of Blackburn College, she formerly taught in rural Beardstown.
  An avid gardener, she received several local gardening awards.
  She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution since 1980.
  She was a charter and founding member of Tazewell County Historic Places and Tazewell County Museum. She also was a member of Tazewell County Genealogical Historical Society, Pekin General Great Decisions Lectures Series and the Dirksen Guild.
  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, its Sanctuary Choir, its Yam Sunday school Class and its United Methodist Women.
  She was a volunteer at Pekin Hospital, the Pekin Community Concert Series and the American Red Cross.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at her church. The Rev. Gaylord Buss will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Noel-Henderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
  Memorials may be made to her church or the American Cancer Society.

  Rushville - Graveside services for James M. "Joe" Robertson, 36, of rural Rushville, who was pronounced dead at 11:52 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 1994, at P&S Garage in Vermont, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeville Cemetery near Browning. Judge Carson D. Klitz will officiate.
  There will be no visitation. Worthington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
  He died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
  He was born Dec. 10, 1957, in Rushville to Marvin "Jim" and Helen Elizabeth Hopkins Robertson.
  Surviving are his parents of Rushville; one brother, Steve of Rushville; and two sisters, Joyce Foutch of Marion and Lisa Robertson of Macomb. His grandparents and one infant sister preceded him in death.
  He attended Industry High School and was engaged in farming.

  She was born Aug. 24, 1916, in London Mills, the daughter of Ward and Edith (Hall) White. She married James M. McAtee April 13, 1935, in Aledo. He preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1968. She then married E. Dale Robinson, Sept. 1, 1973, in Bushnell. He preceded her in death June 3, 2000.
  She is survived by one stepson, Alan Robinson, Wauconda; one stepdaughter, Sally (Clyde) Johnson, Streator; two grandchildren, Michael McAtee, and Katherine (Don) McGowen; eight great-grandchildren; one niece, two nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; and one sister, Betty Kirwan, Morton.
  In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David A. McAtee, in 1939, and Dale K. McAtee, in 1955.
  She lived in London Mills and graduated from High School in 1934. She worked for many years as a waitress at the Junction in St. Augustine until moving to Bushnell in 1973. From June 2000 to 2003, she lived at Wesley Village, Macomb and from 2003 to 2004 at Liberty Village in Streator. Before becoming a resident of Heartland Health Care Center, Macomb, She was a member of the Bushnell Baptist Church.
  Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell, with the Pastor Dave Eden officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to time of services.
  Burial will be at the Bushnell Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice.

  Martin William "Marty" Robinson, 36, Aurora, formerly of Astoria, died at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at his residence.
  He was born Dec. 11, 1965, in Macomb, the son of Roger WIlliam "Bill" and Ann (Bucher) Robinson. They survive, in St. Charles.
  He is also survived by one sister, Monica Robinson, Manistee, Mich.; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Bucher, Astoria; two nieces, Nicki Heisey and Jessica Heisey; and one nephew, Jeremy Heisey.
  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
  He was a tree trimmer and landscaper for Demar Tree Service and McLaughlin Tree Service.
  He graduated from St. Charles High School, St. Charles.
  Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at the Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria, with the Rev. Gary Sheets officiating. Interment was at the Woodland Cemetery, Astoria.

  E. Wayne Royer, 80, of Bowen, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002 at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.
  He was born on Tuesday, November 29, 1921, the son of the late Earl and Mary Richardson Royer. He married Doris Lorraine Knapp December 10, 1947 in Peoria. She passed away April 3, 2002.
  Surviving are: five sons, Kenneth Royer and wife (Cheryl) of West Point, Joe Royer and wife (Janet) of Rushville, Thomas Royer and wife (Kathy) of Hamilton, Michael Royer and wife (Jane) of Good Hope and Alan Royer and wife (Joan) of Congerville; two daughters, Mary Smith and Husband (Ron) and Evelyn Whitaker and husband (Bradley) both of Bowen; 16 grandchildren; two great granddaughters; three step grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Harrison and June Fuqua both of Rushville.
  He was preceded in death by one-step grandson, one sister, Twila Rice, and three brothers, Eldon, Virgil and Russell Royer.
  He was a US Army veteran of W.W. ll, he was a farmer, carpenter and bus driver for Southeastern School District until retiring. He was a member of the Bowen American Legion Post #1087.
  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday May 9, 2002, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with the Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City cemetery where Schuyler American Legion Post #4 conducted military services. Memorials may be given to the Hancock County Nursing Home, Carthage.

  Catherine Sargent, 88, of Rushville, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at her home.
  She was born July 9, 1917, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, the daughter of Samuel W. and Catherine (Montooth) Phillips.  She married Russell Sargent on March 31, 1947, in Beardstown.  He preceded her in death on January 16, 2004.
  Surviving are two sons, Harold (wife Barbara) of Libertyville, and Lyle (wife Marilyn) of Rushville.  Also surviving are five gradchildren.
  Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Walter Phillips, George Phillips, Sammie Phillips, Harvey Phillips, and Willard Phillips; four sisters, agnes Vancil, Bernice Beghtol, Bertha Rebman, and Nina Wlaker; and one grandson, Benjamin, who died in infancy.
  Prior to marriage, she was employed for two and one half years at the former Streitberger Bakery.  After marriage, she was a farm wife and homemaker, enjoying gardening and tending her yard and flowers.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rushville, the White Oak Club and Schuyler County Farm Bureau.
  Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 14, at Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Arnold officiating.  Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
  Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Cass-Schuyler-Area Hospice, of Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation in Rushville.

  Abingdon - Delvin L. "Jake" Schisler, 77, of Rolling Meadows Trailer Court died at 8:23 a.m. Monday, Apr 12, 1993, at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
  Born May 1, 1915, near Harmon to Eddie Lee and Lucinda Derry Schisler, he married Eddie Lee Hook on Aug. 22, 1934, in Monmouth. She survives.
  Also surviving are two sons, Delvin Lee of Port St. Lucie, FL., and Blair of London Mills; one daughter, Frances Cecil of Abingdon; two brothers, Charles of Tigard, OR., and Virgil of Galesburg; four sisters, Estella Masterson of London Mills, Ethel Thurman of Abingdon, Naomia Thurman of Avon and Ruby Ralston of St. Augustine; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. One son, James Martin Schisler, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
  He farmed in Abingdon, and also worked at the former Brass Factory until its closing.
  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Galesburg.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West, Abingdon Chapel. The Rev. George Terry will. officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

  Abingdon - Giles G. "Giggs" Schisler, 70, of 702 S. Jefferson St. died at 9:59 a.m. Monday, Jan 11, 1993, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
  Born Feb. 21, 1922, in Avon to Homer and Nada Mitchell Schisler, he married Pearl Derry on Jun 6, 1942, in Palmyra, MO.  She survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Wilbur Schisler of Abingdon; six brothers, Robert Lee of Jacksonville, Bradley of rural Galesburg, Jack of St. Augustine, James and Donald E., both of Abingdon, and Homer, Jr. of Mount Morris, MI; and four sisters, Muriel M. Derry, Betty Jane Sickles and Dorla Dwyer, all of Abingdon, and Lois Munson of Bullhead City, AR.  He was preceded in death by two brothers.
  An Abingdon resident most of his life, he attended Indian Point schools. He worked at the former Abingdon Blue Bell, Ken Ray Electric in Abingdon and the former American Sanitary Manufacturing Co. (Brass Factory).  He also owned and operated Schisler Electric for 27 years, retiring in 1984.
  He was a volunteer fireman with the Abingdon Fire Protection District from 1956 to 1983.  He was a member of the former Eagles Lodge in Galesburg.
  He also was a member of Abingdon Christian Church, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.  The Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.  Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

Obituary for John Benjamin Schisler I

  John Schisler, Sr., was born near Loganville, York County, Penn., Dec. 4, 1833.  He departed this life April 10, 1912, aged 78 years, 4 months and 6 days.  He was confined to his bed 10 days having died of paralysis.
  In 1853 he with his parents drove from Pennsylvania to Illinois.  In 1855 he was married to Matilda Fitz.  To this union were born eight children, six of whom survive:  Benjamin of California; John, Lewis Henry, Ellen and Mary of Astoria.  William the youngest son died in infancy and Jacob the eldest at the age of 42 years.  His wife, Matilda, passed away almost 21 years ago.  Soon after his marriage he united with the Church of the Brethren to which he remained a faithful member, having at one time attended church for 20 years without missing a Sunday.  He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Benj. and Hettie of Kansas and Martin, Lewis, Anna and Catherine of Illinois.
  Mr. Schisler was one of the pioneers of Fulton county, having lived on his farm southeast of Astoria for about 30 years.  Here he won and held the respect of neighbors and friends because of his honesty and upright living, being always ready to lend a helping hand.  For the past 23 years he has resided in Astoria.
  Out of town friends present at funeral were:  Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schisler, Ellisville; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Schisler, Bader; Mr. and Mrs. D.   John Schisler was born near Astoria, IL, Oct 5, 1860.  Departed this life Feb 23, 1915, being at the time of his death 54 years, 4 months, 18 days old.  He was the son of John and Matilda Schisler.  On Jan 4, 1883, he was united in marriage to Minerva Kelly.  To this union were born six children.  They are:  Oscar, of Weleetka, Okla., Mrs. W. W. Dorman of East Wilmington, Cal.; Mrs. T. J. Beam; Harvey, Gladys and Glen, of Astoria, who with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father and husband.  He is also survived by three brothers and two sister, two brothers having preceded him in death.
  He was a member of the Church of the Brethren and lived a consistent Christian life.  For several years he had been in poor health but bore his sufferings with Christian fortitude.
  Funeral services were held Thursday, February 25, at the Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. Chas. Walters assisted by Rev. J. J. Johnson.  Interment at the South Fulton cemetery.

Lewis Schisler died Friday in Canton Hospital
  Lewis Schisler of Astoria, who became suddenly insane Monday a week ago and who that evening was taken to a hospital in Canton, died Friday morning at 8:30 o'clock.  His death was said to have been caused by a tumor on the brain.
  In our last week's issue, we mentioned that Mr. Schisler was removed the following morning after he was admitted in the hospital to the Spencer Sanitarium.  This was a mistake.  He remained in the hospital until the time of his death.
  Lewis Schisler, son of John and Matilda Schisler, was born in Woodland township, July 8, 1864 and departed this life at the Canton hospital Dec. 7, aged 64 years, 4 months and 29 days.
  Mr. Schisler was a carpenter by trade and lived by himself at the old home on East Broadway.  He attended the revival services at the Church of the Brethren Sunday evening and after arriving home, he was stricken during the night or early morning from which he never recovered.  He was taken to the Graham hospital and everything done that human hands could do but he never regained consciousness only for a few minutes.
  He leaves to mourn his departure two brothers, Henry Schisler of Astoria, B. F. Schisler of Los Angeles, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Messenger and Mrs. Ellen Flickenger of Boardman, Ore., a number of nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
  Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m., at the Church of the Brethren, by Rev. W. R. Seitzinger, assisted by Rev. S. G. Bucher and interment in the Astoria mausoleum.

  Mabel I. Schisler, 82, of Abingdon, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 1996, at the Care Center of Abingdon.
  She was born June 29, 1914, in East Galesburg, the daughter of Lewis A. and Florence Rebecca (Gregg) Clevenger.
  She married Vernon L. Gott on October 15, 1932, in Buffalo, Missouri. She later married Clifford E. Schisler on December 8, 1972, in Springfield.
  Mabel had lived in Abingdon the past 24 years, and prior to that she had lived in the Dahinda area. She last worked at Admiral's in Galesburg for 14 years, retiring in 1973.  She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church, the Rebekah Lodge in Monmouth and the Women of the Moose in Galesburg.
  Survivors include her husband, Clifford; two son, Gerald Wayne Gott of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Roger Gott of Sullivan; four daughters, Beverly Earp of Monmouth, Pauline Miller of Hayworth, Karen Lowery of Cameron and Sharen Curtis of California: one stepson, Neal Schisler of Knoxville; three stepdaughters, Elaine Westover and Linda Batson, both of Abingdon, and Donna Mason of Galesburg; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 10 step
great-grandchildren;  one brother, Adrian Clevenger of Alexis; and one sister, Helen Rickman of Lancaster, California.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel. Abingdon, with Rev. George Wilson officiating.
  Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

Obituary for Matilda Fitz Schisler

  Matilda, wife of John Schisler of this city died June 12th.  She was born Matilda Fitz in York Co., PA in 1838 and came to Illinois in 1853.  She was married in 1855 and was the mother of six boys and two girls, all now living, except one son.  She was a member of the German Baptist Church. The funeral was June 14th with burial in the cemetery south of town.
  Mrs. Matilda (Fitz) Schisler, wife of John Schisler, of this city, died Friday, June 12th, 1891.  The deceased was born in York county, Pennsylvania, in 1838, and came to Illinois in 1853.  In 1855 she was united in marriage with Mr. Schisler.  Six boys and two girls were born to them, and all are living except one son.  At an early age she joined the German Baptist church and lived a consistent Christian life.  She was sick five weeks before death relieved her sufferings.  The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Baker at the house, Sunday, June 14th.  The remains were interred in the cemetery south of town.

  Abingdon - Roger L. Schisler, 65, 701 N. Fearing Ave., died at 10 p.m. Friday; (Sept. 15, 2000) at home.
  He was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Indian Point Township, Knox County, the son of Claire D; and Doris A. Jacobs Schisler.
  He married Ann Kendrick on Oct. 22, 1955, in Abingdon. She died Aug. 7, 1995. He the married Joyce Heimer Blevins on Nov. 18,1999, Abingdon.
  Surviving are his wife; one son, Timothy John Schisler, Amarillo, Texas; three step-sons, Randy Cox, Galesburg, Jeff Cox, Sharpsville, Ind., and Steve Cox, Chatham; two daughters, C. Diann Hooks, Verona, Wis., and Deborah Ann Schisler, Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Gale Schisler, Springfield; four sisters, Yvonne Lewis, Decatur, Jody Dolan; Arlington, Texas, Anita Hickok, Cibolo, Texas, and Jeri Schisler, Verona, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents.
  He was graduated from Abingdon High School in 1952. He attended Eureka College and was later graduated from Western Illinois University.
  He worked at Spoon River Valley School District 4 for 17 years, where he was a principal, teacher and basketball coach. He later worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation as an Engineer Tech for 17 years. He also farmed near the Ellisville and London Mills areas for 35 years. He was a veteran of the Air Force and was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 in Abingdon.
  Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, Abingdon, with the Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

  He was born April 15, 1948, in Galesburg, the son of William and Frances Clifford Schisler.  He married Sharon Lambert on July 18, 1970, in Galesburg.  She died Dec. 7, 1985.
  Surviving are his mother, his grandfather, Elmer Clifford, Abingdon, three sons, Verlon Schisler, Jr., Tim Schisler and Troy Schisler, all of Abingdon; one brother, Carl Schisler, Galesburg Route 4; three sisters, Rita K. Penkwitz, Mountain Home, Ark., Evaleen Batson, Abingdon, and Jeanine Behymer, Kewanee, and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father.
  He lived in Abingdon all his life.  He was graduted from Abingdon High School and from an electronics technical school in Louisville, Ky.
  He worked at Admiral Division in Galesburg since 1984.  He had managed Shady Lakes Campground, New Windor, and also had worked for 13 1/2 years for the formen Calo Products Division of Outboard Marine Corp., Galesburg.
  He attended Abingdon Christain Church.
  Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Abingdon Christian Church, with the Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating.  Visiation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Larson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

  Born Oct. 7, 1920, in Hermon to Martin V. and Lucinda Derry Schisler, he married Viola Mae Brown. She preceded him in death. He later married Helen Bergie in Galesburg.
  Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Durkin of Abingdon and Mary Louise Sheffield of Platteville, TX; one son, David of Rock Island; one brother, Charles of Tigard, OR; four sisters, Estella Masterson of Galesburg, Ethel Thurman and Naomia Thurman, both of Abingdon, and Ruby Ralston of St. Augustine; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. One son, Everett, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
  He lived for the past 30 years in Galesburg, where he was a self-employed welder.  He also worked at the former Sta-Rite Industries in Abingdon.
  Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, where visitation will be one hour earlier. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

  Abingdon - William C. Schisler, 71, Abingdon, died in the emergency room at St. Mary's Hospital, Galesburg, Thursday at 12:36 p.m.
  He was born in Indian Point Township, Knox County on July 24, 1917, the son of Conrad and Ollie Passent Schisler.  He married Frances Clifford in Galesburg on Jan. 26, 1946.
  Surviving are his wife, two sons, Verlon Schisler, Abingdon, and Carl Schisler, Galesburg, three daughters, Rita Kay Penkwitz, Rancho Cordova, Calif., Evaleen Day, Bixby, Okla., Jeanine Behymer, Ipava; one sister, Floreine Mack, East Galesburg, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
  He attended Indian Point Township School, and had lived in Abingdon for the past 22 years.  He worked for Galesburg Sanitary District for 12 years, retiring in November 1978.  He had also been a construction worker.
  He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Sixth Armored Division in Central Europe and during the Battle of the Bulge.  He was a member of Abingdon American Legion Post 381 and the Sixth Armored Division Association for 2 years.
  Funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Witte officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.  Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery where military rites will be accorded.

  Born Aug. 27, 1918, in Canton to Harold and Della Peterson Snyder, she married Virgil Aten on Sept. 25, 1946, in Hannibal, Mo. He died Aug. 2, 1978.
  She was also preceded in death by one sister and one grandson.
  Surviving are one daughter, Shirley (and Glen) Haynes of Kimberling, Mo., and one granddaughter, Janice Haynes of Kimberling.
  She worked in the credit central department at Sears in Peoria for many years.

  Born Feb. 5, 1930, in Macomb to Ferrol G. and Pauline Bryan Aten, he married Geraldine Reck on Aug. 10, 1952, in Macomb. She survives.
  Also surviving are four sons, Dr. James (and Luz Marina) of Phoenix, Dr. Randall (and Becky) of New Port Beach, Calif., Steve (and Betty) of San Diego and Timothy of Las Vegas; two brothers, D. Lyle (and Mary Lou) of Lexington, Ky., and Maurice (and Betty) of New Port Beach; two stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
  He taught business, typing and economics at Farmington High School for 32 years, retiring in 1990. Previously, he taught at Meredosia High School, Savanna Junior High and at Galesburg High School.
  He received a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University in 1952 and a master's degree in business education from Colorado State College in Greeley, Colo., in 1955.
  He formerly served as an alderman for Precinct 1 in Farmington.
  He was a member of Farmington Methodist Church.
  He also was a member of the Toastmasters Club and Farmington Moose Lodge.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Joe Richard will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

  He was born Feb. 10, 1915, in Ray, the son of Len B. and Nora Nall Aten. He married Mary Margaret Moffitt in 1946 in Bloomington. She died in 1984. He then married Nadine Brown Ross in 1988 in Springfield.
  Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Paul and Virgil.
  He retired from Central Illinois Light Co. in 1978 after 32 years of service. A resident of Springfield most of his life, Mr. Aten was a member of Fifth Presbyterian Church, Springfield Lodge 4 AF&AM and Hall Hagler Chapter 15 DAV.

  One son, Richard L., and four brothers preceded her in death.

  She was a member of United Methodist Church of Vermont, where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Donald Pratt will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.

  Browning - Helen R. Aten, 82, of Browning died at 9:23 p.m. Thursday at Myers Nursing Home in Beardstown.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home, Astoria, with burial in Browning Cemetery.
  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Stambaugh of Browning and Dr. Rosemary Aten of Macomb; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcella Brodman of Virginia and Dorothy Walton of Browning; and one brother, Robert Geer of Quincy.
  Note: She married Howard "Keith" Keith Aten.  Her parents are Arthur "Hiram" Hiram Geer and Ada Bertha Kloker.

In Canton, Ill.; Earl Aten, A World War Veteran, Dies Following Long Illness
  Henry Earl Aten, aged 44, died at his home in Canton last Wednesday morning after an 18 months illness.  Death was attributed to lukemia.  He had recently returned from the Hines Veterans hospital at Hines, Ill. where he had spent several intervals during the past two years.
  Born in Astoria, Sept. 28, 1892, a son of John and Lydia Aten, he spent all of his life in this vicinity.  He was married to Beulah Moore at Jacksonville, Ill. Oct. 25, 1930.
  Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Lydia Aten of Astoria, his widow, Beulah Aten, two daughters, Patricia Sue, four and Norma Jane, two, four brothers, Edward of Chicago and Guy, Clarence, and Merle, Astoria, and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Davis, Astoria and Mrs. Lulu Bricker of Ray.
  Funeral services were held at the Astoria U. B. church Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. D. Cotherman, assisted by Rev. I. E. Vanwey.  The American Legion had charges of the services at the grave in the Oak Grove cemetery, west of Astoria.

  Springfield - Irene Siebert-Aten, 91, of Springfield died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
  She was born Dec. 3, 1908, in central Kentucky, the daughter of Arvie J. and Perna Tucker McCubbin. She married Floyd A. Siebert Sr. in 1930; he preceded her in death in 1959. She later married Loren B. Aten in 1961; he preceded her in death in 1968.
  Mrs. Siebert-Aten was employed by Maldaners and Colonial restaurants in the 1930s. She later was employed by Myers Brothers and Rolands department stores for more than 40 years and was a member of West Side Christian Church.
  Survivors: a son, Floyd A. (wife, Iona) Siebert Jr. of Westerville, Ohio; two daughters, Betty L. Walden and Carol S. (husband, Glenn) Green, both of Springfield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cleo McCubbin of Beardstown and Ralph McCubbin of southern Illinois; a sister, Lucille (husband, Myron) Story of Youngstown, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
  Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Charlie Lee and the Rev. Ross Woolen officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.

  Farmington - Mary Pauline Aten, 90, of 362 E. Court St. died at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 1993, at Farmington Country Manor.
  Born May 22, 1903, in Fulton County to William and Rosanna Shelkey Bryan, she married Ferrol G. Aten on Aug. 12, 1926, in Downs. He died Dec. 15, 1975.
  One sister, one brother and one grandchild also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are three sons, F. Eugene of Farmington, D. Lyle of Lexington, Ky., and Maurice B. of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
  In 1958, she earned her bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa teacher's sorority. She taught at Mount School, Pilot Grove School and for Farmington School District, retiring in 1970. She was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church, its Pollyanna Class and United Methodist Women.
  She was a member of Farmington Women's Club and a charter member of Farmington Businesswomen's Club. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.
  Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Glen E. Edenbum will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Cemetery, near Marietta.
  Memorials may be made to her church or to the American Cancer Society.

  Astoria - Robert P. Aten, 62, of Orange, Calif., formerly of Astoria, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, June 26, 1998, at Tustin Medical Center in Tustin, Calif.
  He was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, to Merlin J. and Annetta Parker Aten.
  Surviving are his mother, Annetta Fisher of Ipava; and three brothers, Rodney of Ipava, John of Beardstown and Richard of Highland.
  He was preceded in death by his father.
  He was an auto detailer in California since 1967. Prior to that, he was a postal employee for 10 years and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for two years, both in Oklahoma.
  Private graveside services will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Astoria. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

  She was born April 29, 1935, in Kerton Township, the daughter of Harry and Stella Wrestler Heffren. Two sons, Kent and Chris Bader, preceded her in death.
  Mrs. Bader had been a resident of Macomb since 1990. She was co-owner of Bader and Company for several years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Havana and the American Legion Auxiliary in Vermont.
  Survivors: a daughter, Maria Lillard of Dallas City; a granddaughter; a sister, Sadie Hurley of Cassville, Mo.; and a niece.
  Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held.

  Born March 26, 1899, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, to George W. and Clara C. Noble Hollenback, she married Carl Trone on April 3, 1916, in Rushville. He died Sept. 11, 1963. She married William Bateman on Dec. 6, 1970, in Canton. He died April 8, 1976.
  She also was preceded in death by three sons, Donald, Jody and Hank, three brothers and three sisters.
  Surviving are two sons, Robert of London Mills and Jim of Canton; two daughters, Marjorie Chenoweth of Colona and Betty Crosier of Canton; 27 grandchildren; 91 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
  She was a member of the Salvation Army, League of Mercy and Home League.

  Esther Elizabeth Aten was born March 21, 1890, in Oakland township, Schuyler county, near Rushville, the daughter of James and Sarah Waugh Copes, and passed away at Culbertson Memorial hospital on October 16, 1974, after a brief illness.
  She was a graduate of Kennedy Normal in Rushville and attended Western Illinois university in Macomb.  She taught at several rural schools in Schuyler county before her marriage to Oscar W. Aten on December 22, 1915, in Rushville.
  She is survivied by one son, Cline F. Aten, of Carthage; one daughter, Mrs. Nelda Wilson of Springfield; two grandsons; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Vergene; one sister, Mrs. Mae Greuel; and three brothers, David, Clinton and Burt.
  Esther was a member of the First United Methodist church and the Willing Workers Sunday school class, Royal Neighbors of America, the Adelaide Rebekah Lodge, and the Past Noble Grands club.
  Her entire life was spent in Schuyler county with the exception of a few years spent in Fulton county.
  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt and as a gentile friend and kind neighbor.
  Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Worthington Funeral Home with burial in the Vermont cemetery.  Rev. Wesley Trendle officiated.

  Mrs. Ida Mae Aten, 75, of Vermont, widow of John Aten, who spent the greater part of her life in Oakland township, died Monday morning at the home of her son, Leslie, near Rushville, where {she} had been the past week.  She had been in failing health the past six weeks.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the residence in Vermont.  Burial was in the Vermont cemetery.
  Ida Mae aten, a daughter of Alfred and Sarah (Bechtel) Jackson, was born May 29, 1871, in Boone county, Iowa.
  On December 31, 1891, she was joined in marriage to John Aten, who preceded her in death.
  She is survived by three sons, Oscar, of Oakland township, Leslie of Buenavista township, and Verne of Vermont; and five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Fair, of Vermont.

  While he had been failing in health for some time, his last illness was of short duration.  Besides his immediate family, he leaves a host of relatives and friends.
  Funeral services were held at the home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Fred Wilson, officiating.  Burial in Vermont cemetery.

  Death came suddenly last Thursday afternoon to Oscar W. Aten, prominent farmer of Oakland township, who had been ill at his home since Christmas Day.
  Mr. Aten had lived his entire life in Oakland where was twice chosen by the people of that area to represent them as supervisor from 1947 to the spring of 1955.
  Funeral services were held Saturday, January 7, at 2 p.m. at the Rushville First Methodist church, the Rev. Robert M. Birdsell and the Rev. Lewis Dee Hopper officiating.  Burial was in the Vermont City cemetery.
  Oscar Wayne Aten, eldest son of John Aten and Ida (Jackson) Aten, and a member of the pioneer Robert and Mary Allison Aten family, was born on a farm north of Ray, Nov. 23, 1892, and departed this life at his home, 10 miles north of Rushville of January 5, 1956, aged 63 years, one month and eight days.
  "Os", as his friends called him, was reared in the happy environment of a Christian home, and from early childhood, the principles of thrift, integrity and love for his fellowmen were instilled in his mind, principles of character, that are requisite for good citizenship, and which predominated during his entire lifetime.
  He completed his elementary education in the aten district school, and in his youth assisted his father in farming operations, thereby acquiring the training which fitted him for the successful farming career that he was to follow in after years.
  His judgement was of such caliber, that he was twice elected in the office of supervisor of his township, serving a total of eight years in the office in a manner that was highly pleasing to the public in general.
  It was on Dec. 23, 1915 that he was joined in marriage to Miss Esther Copes, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Copes, of his native community, and with whom he has permitted to live in happy companionship for 40 years.
  Three children came to bless the marriage of Oscar Aten and Esther Copes: Cline, of Carthage, Nelda, of Springfield, and Vergene, who died in infancy.
  Besides his devoted wife and two children, he is survived by a niece and foster daughter, Lois Copes Gehring, who was bereft of both parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Copes in early childhood, and to whom he was a kind father until she reached maturity; also two grandchildren, Jerry and Judy Aten, of Carthage, two brothers, Leslie Aten, of near Rushville, and Verne Aten, of Vermont and a number of nieces and nephews.

  Jackson Bellville, was born July 30, 1886; died October 15, 1918, at the age of 32 years, 2 months and 15 days.
  On Oct. 14, 1908, he was married to Myrtle Robertson.
  He entered the service in May, 1918, and was at Camp Mills, New York, ready for oversees when stricken with the malady. He was brought home escorted by Otto Clay. He was a member of Co. H. 150th infantry.
  He leaves a wife, mother. Mrs. Samuel Tweedell, of Beardstown and other relatives besides hosts of warm friends.
  Funeral services were conducted at the Browning cemetery by Rev. Gowdy of Rushville Monday morning.

  Colchester - Ruth V. Bisby, 76, of Colchester died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 1993, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
  Born May 29, 1916, in rural Macomb to Grover and Nellie Moore Martin, she married Ralph Bisby on Nov. 30, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Robert of Colchester; one brother, Raymond Martin of Littleton; two granddaughters; and three sisters, Ruby Waddell of Plymouth, Rosalie Lashbrook of Moline and Luan Bryan of Carpentersville. She was preceded in death by six brothers.
  A licensed practical nurse, she was a lifetime resident of Colchester where she was a member of Colchester United Methodist Church.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Jones Mortuary. The Rev. Jack Hollenback will officiate. Calling hours will be after 8 a.m. today until the time of services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.

He was in football, baseball, freshman class president, honor student, scholastic team, youth group of Colchester First Baptist Church, and Colchester United Methodist Church, Habitat for Humanity, member of the Colchester First Baptist Church, loved playing paint ball, video and computer games, hanging out with friends and family and a gift of hope organ donor.
  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Colchester First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Earl Beal officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Jones Mortuary. Friends may call Jones Mortuary after 4 p.m. Monday, till 9 p.m. Tuesday then at the Colchester First Baptist Church till the time of services. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester.
  Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity Mission Trip or Colchester Rescue Squad.

  Blandinsville - Nelda L. Blue, 78, of 3075 E. County Road 1970 died at 8:04 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
  Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Vermont, Ill., to Harvey Oscar and Hattie Royer Curless, she married Charles D. Blue on Jan. 8, 1944, in Rushville. He survives.
  Also surviving are two sons, Steven (and Sandy) of Carthage and Ronald (and Laurel) of Colchester; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
  She was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and one grandson.
  She was a homemaker.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville. The Rev. Robert Tillman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery in Vermont.

  Mason City - Rosa E. Blanchard, 73, of Mason City died at 11:07 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 1992, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
  Born Sept. 2, 1918, in Schuyler County to Frank and Jessie Bartlett Lung, she married Forrest Howard. She later married Elbert Blanchard. He survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Donald Howard of Woodbridge, Va.; three sisters, Hazel Yates of Camden, Elva Yates of El Paso and Anne Cleveland of Middle Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
  She and her husband owned and operated Blanchard's grocery stores in Mason City and Easton.
  She was a member of the Mason City United Methodist Church.
  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cain Funeral Home in Mason City. The Rev. Richard Chrisman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.

  Born Dec. 8, 1935, in Peoria to William and Marie Belville Humphrey, she married Robert E. Bollinger on Oct. 18, 1952, in Astoria. He survives.
  Also surviving are one daughter, Paula Bollinger of Astoria; four sons, Bill of Kincaid, Randy of Browning, Rick of Astoria and Jeff of Summum; two brothers, Al Humphrey of Mount Sterling and Andy Humphrey of Peoria; four sisters, Ethel Purpich of Peoria, June Barnette of Bluff City, Emma Hamblin of Browning and Margaret Bopp of Astoria; and 20 grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.
  She was a nurse's aide at Astoria Healthcare Center. She was a member of Bader Christian Church in Bader.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. The Rev. James Shirley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery.

  Browning - Eldon C. Briney, 80, of Rural Route 1 died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 1992, at his son's residence.
  Born Oct. 28, 1911, in Schuyler County to Edward and Mary Louderback Briney, he married Glenna Hamm. She preceded him in death. He later married Freida Shaffer, who also preceded him in death. He later married Virginia Bybee.
  She survives, along with one son, Stanley M. of rural Browning; one sister, Mrs. Dallas (Eva) Hamm of Astoria; three brothers, Ernest of Adair, Oliver of Peoria and Otis of Macomb; several stepchildren; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.
  He was a retired farmer and a World War II Coast Guard veteran.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. The Rev. Wayne Rouse will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Sheldon Grove Cemetery in Sheldon Grove.

  Born Dec. 31, 1912, in Browning to Howard and Inez Robertson Bader, she married Henry Brook in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He died in 1981. Two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are two sisters, Anna Krafton Psinas of Manito and Esther Baxter of Kankakee; and two brothers, Harold Bader of Morrisonville, Wis., and Wendell Bader of Bloomfield.
  Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bader Christian Church in Bader. The Rev. James Shirley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Bader Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bader Christian Church.

  Born Nov. 14, 1907, in Schuyler County to Warren Delverth and Rosa Etta Shores Derry, she married Arthur R. Brown on Dec. 1, 1927, in Rushville. He died Feb. 5, 1990.
  Three brothers, three sisters and one grandchild also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are two daughters, Melba J. Hollenback of Table Grove and Margaret L. Heaton of Springfield; one son, Kenneth D. of Industry; one sister, Lola M. Trone of London Mills; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
  She was a cook at Eldorado and Vermont grade schools.
  She was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church, Harmony Rebekah Lodge 53, and Past Noble Grand Club.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kost Memorial Home. The Rev. Donald Pratt will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.
