Bobby DeWeese
  Macomb - Bobby L. DeWeese, 64, of 508 W. Chase St. died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 1993, at McDonough District Hospital.
  Born Feb. 15, 1928, in Macomb to LeRoy and Mabel Clayton DeWeese, he married Shirley Murfin on Oct. 23, 1948, in Galesburg. She survives.
  Also surviving are four sons, Joe and Todd, both of Macomb, Michael of Deltona, Fla., and Jim of Sullivan; one brother, Olin of Macomb; twin sister, Betty Hollenback of Deltona; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Three sisters preceded him in death.
  He served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946, and from 1950 to 1951. He was a truck driver for Meadow Gold Dairy in Macomb.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. The Rev. Randy Miller will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.

  Macomb - Olen LeRoy "Bud" DeWeese, 86, of Macomb died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital.
  Born Aug. 16, 1917, in Macomb to Roy and Mabel Clayton DeWeese, he married Lowanda Smith on July 20, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. She died April 12, 2000.
  He also was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
  Surviving are two daughters, Saundra Mourning of Colchester and Sally Kammerer of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Betty Hollenback of Deltona, Fla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
  A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of McDonough American Legion Post 6.
  He was a lineman for the Rural Electrical Association for more than 30 years.
  He was a member of Macomb Masonic Lodge and Peoria Consistory.
  He also was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb.
  Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home.

  He was born July 11, 1918, in Schuyler County, the son of Carl A. and Stella Leezer Dober. He married Betty Jackson in 1951 in Rushville. A daughter, Nancy Ann Huddleston, preceded him in death.
  Mr. Dober was a farmer, retiring in 2000. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Schuyler County Farm Bureau.
  Survivors: wife, Betty; a son, Earl "Butch" Wilson of Rushville; three daughters, Lavena (husband, Dan) Dober-Lewellen and Alice Jones, both of Jacksonville, and Marna (husband, Dave Hurst) Dober of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Dober of Rushville; and a half brother, Roy (wife, Betty) Dober of Monmouth.

  Rushville - Henry A. Dober, 83, of Rushville died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at his home.

  Also surviving are one son, Earl ''Butch'' Wilson of Rushville; three daughters, Lavena Dober-Lewellen (and Dan Lewellen) and Alice Jones, both of Jacksonville, and Marna Dober (and Dave Hurst) of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles of Rushville; and one half brother, Roy (and Betty) Dober of Monmouth.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Inola Dober; one daughter, Nancy Ann Huddleston; one granddaughter; one sister; two half brothers; and one half sister.
  He was a World War II Army veteran.
  He farmed until 2000, when ill health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Schuyler County Farm Bureau.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Roger Simpson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by Schuyler American Legion Post 4.

  Waldo A. Dorsett, 86, Pekin, died Aug. 7, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Pekin Living and Rehabilation Center in Pekin.
  He was born September 4, 1918, in Macomb, the son of Russell and Lola (Ward) Dorsett.
  He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Sterling Dorsett, and two sisters, Wilma Gamage and Dorothy Middendorf.
  He is survived by three nephews: Dick Gamage, Pekin; Bob Middendorf, Leroy; David Middendorf, Minnesota; two nieces, Penny Gamage, Galesburg; Donna Pershing, Macomb, and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
  He was a custodian at the Macomb Pottery for many years.
  Graveside services are Friday at 10 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 1027 N. Randolph St., Macomb, with Rev Mark Wheeler officiating. There is no visitation.
  Arrangements are by the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home.

  RUSHVILLE - John Harlan Downs, 73, of Rushville died at 2 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 1991, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
  Born June 1, 1918, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, to Clifford and Alice Kupel Downs, he married Effie Bowman in 1938. He married Mary Fuqua Gregory in June 1966 in Murphysboro. She survives.
  Also surviving are his father of Rushville; two sons, Norman of St. Charles, Mo., and Raymond of Tillamook, Ore.; one stepdaughter, Linda Turner of Rushville; four brothers, Richard of Jacksonville, Dwayne and Merlin, both of Rushville, and Gary of Ames, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Jim (Maggie) Burnside of Rushville and Marjorie Downs Byers of Columbia, Md.
  Other survivors are seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; three stepgreat- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; his stepmother, Beulah Chipman Downs; one sister; and one stepsister.
  He farmed for many years in Schuyler County, served as Woodstock Township supervisor and worked in the building services department at Southern Illinois Univeristy for 12 1/2 years before retiring in 1982. A World War II Air Corps veteran, he was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post 4. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville, the Revs. John and Dawn Stemple officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery.

  Lyle Drawve, 79, Rushville, died at 2:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
  He was born Tuesday, Dec. 19, 1922, in Woodstock Township, Schuyler County, to Fred and Edna (Armstrong) Drawve. He married Arlys R. Myers Dec. 30, 1945, in Burlington, Iowa. She died Jan. 17, 1996.
  He is survived by one son, Kent (Sherry) Drawve, Rushville; one daughter, Diane (Kenny) Ward, Huntsville; three grandchildren, Tracy Finch, Allyson Gilham and Mike McClelland; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Sipes and Grace Gilham; and one nephew, Larry Johnson.
  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
  He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and past commander of Schuyler American Legion Post #4, Voiture #1100 40et8, and was an honorary member of the Lamoine Ramblers Motorcycle Club. He worked for Drawve Implement, Bartlow Brothers Meat Packing and Oscar Mayer. After retiring from Oscar Mayer, he helped at Drawve Furniture in Rushville.
  Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville, with the Rev. Robert Kirkham officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery, with military services conducted by Schuyler Post #4.

  Quincy - Herbert A. Dunn, 80, of Quincy, formerly of Timewell, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the Illinois Veterans Home.
  He was born April 7, 1923, in Pleasant View, the son of Clarence Lynol and Rubie Ellen Kessinger Dunn. He married Iva M. Davis Flynn in 1946 in Mount Sterling.
  Mr. Dunn was a retired farmer and also had served as caretaker at Jensen Woods Camp in Brown County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a first sergeant and earning three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Sterling, where he served in several capacities. He was a member of Mount Sterling American Legion Post 374, Brown County VFW 10399 and the Twilight Twirlers Square Dance Club. He served as ringmaster at the Western Horse Show at the Brown County Fair for more than 30 years and was a member of the Brown County Boots and Saddle Club.

He later married Leona M. Houston Seckman in 1958 in Mount Sterling. A stepdaughter, Nancy Hendricks, preceded him in death.
  Mr. Dunn was a farm mechanic for Barker Equipment Inc., in Mount Sterling for 46 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Mount Sterling American Legion Post 374.

  She was born Nov. 12, 1904, in Macomb, the daughter of Henry D. and Gertrude Saul Reno. She was married to Charles Kettron, Arch Applegate and Elmer Dymond; they all preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Charles D. Kettron; and three brothers, Herschel, Donald and Bryce Reno.
  She is survived by a brother, Max Reno, Rock Island, and several nieces and nephews.
  She graduated from Bardolph High School and attended Western Illinois State Teachers College.
  Cremation was accorded. Graveside burial of ashes was held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2001, in the Bardolph Cemetery in Bardolph, with the Rev. Ron Green officiating. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

  Thelma Blanche Edler, 97, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Macomb, died at 6:38 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Bickford Cottage.
  She was born July 25, 1908 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Charles P. and Ethel (Breen) Curtis. She married Ralph Edler, Aug. 2, 1941 in Peoria. He preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1996.
  She is survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Claire; and one sister, Eva Fosdyck.
  She was a graduate of Augusta High School in Augusta. She moved to Macomb in 1927. She lived in Chicago for 34 years and returned to Macomb in 1972. She made plane and train reservations for the Army and Curtis Candy. She was the floor lady for the Humitube Manufacturing Company in the printing department for many years before retiring in 1970.
  Graveside services were held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at the Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb, with the Rev. Chris Williams officiating.
  Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb, was in charge of arrangements.

  Born Jan. 15, 1909, in KertonTownship, Fulton County, to Joseph Clinton and Iva Mae Thomas Edwards, he married Lefa Olive Stambaugh on Dec. 26, 1931, in Rushville. She died Jan. 22, 1981. Two sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.
  Surviving are one son, Russell Gene of Bartonville; one brother, Kenneth of Beardstown; two sisters, Dorothy Stambaugh of Browning and Bonnie Bair of Astoria; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  A member of Operating Engineers, he worked at various construction sites for 30 years.
  First president of State Trappers Association, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a former Brooklyn Township official.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville. Collis Trone will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 tonight at the chapel. Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery.

  Born Aug. 16, 1920, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, to Emil and Bettie Ward Egbert, he married Mae Huston on Aug. 4, 1945, in Beardstown. She survives.
  Also surviving are two daughters, Donna (and Jerry) {Bartlett} of rural Frederick and Marcia (and Donnie) Gragg of rural Rushville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by one brother.
  He was a lifelong Bainbridge Township farmer. He and his brother owned and operated E&E Sawmill for several years. He also served on the Schuyler County Board of Supervisors for many years and as Bainbridge Township supervisor.
  He was a former member of the Schuyler Coyote Hunters Association.

  Mr. Egbert and his brother owned and operated E&E Sawmill for several years. He was a lifelong farmer in Bainbridge Township and a Bainbridge Township supervisor. He served on the Schuyler County Board of Supervisors for many years and was a former member of Schuyler Coyote Hunters Association.

  Alfa I. Ellis, 88, of Macomb, died at 4:08 p.m. Friday April 16, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital.
  She was born on July 2, 1910 in Minot, ND, the daughter of Clarence and Winnie Rawlins Nelson. She married Floyd Ellis on September 21, 1929, in Palmyra. Mo. He died March 15, 1979.
  Mrs. Ellis is survived by one son, David Ellis of Macomb and one grandson, Daryl Ellis, of Macomb.
  She was preceded in death by one son, Keith Ellis and one brother, Emery.
  Mrs. Ellis lived on a farm southwest of Industry from 1942 - 1984. She formerly lived in Schuyler County.
  Services were Wed. in the Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Green officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

  L. Keith Ellis, 72, of Good Hope, died at 6:47 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, at McDonough District Hospital.
  He was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Macomb, the son of Archie and Evelyn Fugate Ellis. He first married Patricia Rockwell in 1949. She preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 1992. He later married Patricia J. Kaufmann on Sept. 19, 1993, in Quincy; she survives.
  He is also survived by two sons, Steven L. Ellis, North Carolina, and Terry W. Ellis, Colchester; three grandchildren, Keith R. Ellis, Macomb, Gerald Ellis, Colchester, and Jamie Ellis; two stepsons, Jonathon R. Lambert, Moline, and David F. Lambert, Overland, Mo.; and four step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Theodore Ellis.
  Keith lived all his life in the Macomb and Good Hope area. He had worked for 36 years for the Illinois State Police and the State Fire Marshal's office, and he also farmed. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Macomb. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid upland game hunter.
  Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. March 7, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mike Thomas officiating; burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb, was in charge of the arrangements.

  Harold B. Ellsworth, 80, Macomb, died at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at McDonough District Hospital.
  He was born March 23, 1922, in Macomb, the son of George and Ruth (Brown) Ellsworth. He married Nadine Hawkins June 28, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo. She died June 18, 2002.
  He is survived by one son, Gary Ellsworth, Everett, Wash.; two daughters, Lana Bullock, Macomb, and Donna Fourtune, Geneseo; eight grandchildren, Brian, Brad and Brandon Coulter, Amy Sallee, Aftin Blunt, Christine Blackburn, Eric Gillenwater and Mike Gerst; seven great-grandchildren, Noel, Korah and Malcolm Coulter, Melaina Blunt, Stephanie Spillie, Kathryn Blackburn and Sebastien Jemeniz; and one sister, Joy Licate, Redding, Calif.
  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Ramey.
  He served in the Army during World War II. He owned and operated Macomb Plumbing and Heating, and was also the plumbing inspector for the city of Macomb. He was a member of the Macomb VFW and the American Legion.
  Private family services were held at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

  Born Dec. 23, 1925, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, to Carl and Alta Clements Emerick, he married Le Ann Antrobus Eifert on May 23, 1973, in Springfield. She survives.
  Also surviving are one stepson, David Eifert of Centralia; one stepdaughter, Betsy Burdette of Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother, Roger of Rushville; and two stepgrandchildren.
  One brother preceded him in death.
  He retired in 1988 from farming. He was a salesman at Eyler Auto Center until his death.
  He served on the Schuyler County Fair Board from 1949 until his death. He received the Meritorious Service to 4-H Award in 1977. He held several posts while serving on the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Board from 1973 to 1995 and on the Mid-Western Illinois Racing Association from 1964 until his death.
  He formerly served on the Illinois Standardbred Advisory Board and was director of the Illinois Standardbred Owners and Breeders Association from 1970 to 1988. He was a member and harness race presiding judge of the U.S. Trotting Association since 1968. He formerly was director of the Production Credit Association and was one of six original directors of the Rushville Rural Fire Association.
  He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Scott Henley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

  He was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, the son of Carl and Alta Clements Emerick. He married Le Ann Antrobus Eifert in Springfield in 1973. Mr. Emerick, a farmer, retired in 1988. He then worked as a salesman at Eyler Auto Center in Rushville until his death.
  Mr. Emerick was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville. He served as sheep superintendent on the Schuyler County Fair Board, as well as race secretary, president and director from 1952 until present. He served as director of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Board from 1973-1989, served as president and vice president of that organization and received the Meritorius Service to 4-H Award in 1977. He was president and director of the Mid-Western Illinois Racing Association, board member of the Illinois Standardbred Advisory Board, Illinois State Fair speed superintendent, director of the Illinois Standardbred Owners and Breeders Association and member of the U.S. Trotting Association, having served as a licensed harness race presiding judge.
  He also served as director of the Production Credit Association, was one of six original directors of the Rushville Rural Fire Association and named the Patron of Agriculture Award recipient for dedication to farm, family and community.

  Mr. Emerick, of Rushville, headed the fair association from 1973 to 1989 and served as both vice president and as president during his tenure.   He was born in Bainbridge Township of Schuyler County, a son of Carl and Alta Clements Emerick. He married LeAnn Antrobus Eifer in 1973 in Springfield. She survives.
  Surviving also are two step children, a brother Roger Emerick of Rushville; and two step grandchildren.
  Services were held in Rushville with burial in the Rushville City Cemetery.

  Born March 10, 1924, in Lonoke, Ark., to Walter and Nora Smith Henderson, she married Glen Engles in 1943 in Medford, Ore. He died Dec. 30, 1965.
  One daughter, Brenda Lee Engles, also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are her mother, Nora Sailor of Lonoke; two sons, Glen of South Roxana and Michael J. of Marion; one daughter, Mary Dianne Larson of Rushville; two brothers, Walter Henderson of Lonoke and Roy Henderson of Conway, Ark.; two sisters, Alva Lee Choate of De Valls Bluff, Ark., and Ruby Young of Carlisle, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
  She was a nurse in the obstetrics department at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville for 11 years.
  She was president of the Schuyler Women's Auxiliary American Legion Post 4. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Versailles West Side Cemetery, Versailles. The Rev. Dean West will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Roby Funeral Chapel, Rushville.

  Born Aug. 31, 1909, in Schuyler County to Artie and Nettie Fetch Chapman, she married Donald E. Peter {Etter} on May 16, 1935, in Oregon, Ill. He died Aug. 2, 1993. One great-grandson also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are four daughters, Jeanne Hartman, Judy Grafton and Joyce Palmer, all of Rushville, and Joanne Heath of Adair; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
  She was a bookkeeper. She was a member of Astoria Christian Church.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Dan Ormond will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

  She is also survived by one son, Lee (Jean) Evans, Pontiac; five grandchildren, Chad (Janet) Evans, Crystal (Jim) Stadel, Champ (Michelle) Evans, Scott Harrington and Troy (Sue) Harrington; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Victoria and Ryan Evans, and Nicholas, Lucas and Jeremiah Harrington; and three brothers, Clinton (Elenore) Sears, La Harpe, Harold "Shorty" (Jill) Sears, East Peoria, and Larry Sears, Macomb.
  She was preceded in death by her parents.
  She graduated from Colusa High School in 1941, the valedictorian of her class. She enjoyed gardening and raising rose bushes. She also enjoyed being with friends and going to new restaurants. Marjorie was famous for her oatmeal cookies. She was a member of the Jolly Housekeepers Club.
  Graveside services were held Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at Pilot Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Sondra Newman officiating.

  He was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Macomb, the son of James and Phyllis (Emory) Evans. He married Helen Bucher July 30, 1976, in Carson City, Nev. She survives.
  He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Whittier, Bushnell; two daughters, Megan Marie Evans, Jefferson, Mo., Janel Kay Evans, Jefferson, Mo.; two brothers, James R. (Karen) Evans, Lacy Lake, Fla., Kurt E. (Judy) Evans, Bushnell; two sisters, Janet L. (Bob) Williams, Jefferson City, Mo., and Anne Pershing, Reno, Nev.
  He was preceded in death by his father, James Evans and stepfather, Ed Whittier.
  He grew up in Bushnell and graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City H.S. in 1965. He later served in the United States Air Force. He lived in Macomb before moving to Jefferson City, Mo. in 1985.
  Services were held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery.

'Natural Causes' Inquest Verdict In Ewing Death
  Inquest at Dunfermline yesterday over the body of Sherman Ewing, who dropped dead in the mine there at 1:35 o'clock that afternoon, resulted in a verdict of death from natural causes.  The inquest was held by Coroner D. S. Ray of Cuba, and the jurors were Luther Cook, Charles Weingardner, Alex Zander, Frank Graham, Frank Tink and John Fulton.
  Mr. Ewing had been complaining of not feeling well, but went to work as usual yesterday and had been talking to comrades in the mine a moment or two before he suffered the fatal attack.  Death was due probably to rupture of a gastric ulcer in the stomach or an aneurism, in the opinion of the coroner.
  Born in Schuyler County
  He was born in Schuyler county February 12, 1866, and was married in 1883 (sic-correct date is 1886), to Miss Elizabeth Moose, at Astoria.  The wife survives, and there are three children living - George W. Ewing, Dunfermline; Maude Ewing, Long Bridge, S. D.; Fred Ewing, Peoria.  One son is dead.  A brother, William Ewing, lives at Rushville and a sister, Mrs. John Reeves, is a resident of Brooklyn, Ill.  A brother and sister are dead.
  Mr. Ewing has lived in Dunfermline twenty-seven years, and previously was a resident of the Astoria vicinity.  He was a member of the Dunfermline local, U.M.W. of A.
   The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, at the Dunfermline church, and burial will be in Highbridge cemetery.
  Note: He is the son of Joseph Bigelow Ewing and Hannah McManus.

  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marge Dimmitt.
  She taught school in Colchester Unit 180 for 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Macomb, the Sew & So Club of Colchester and the McDonough County Retired Teachers Association.
  Visitation was scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Macomb; a parish wake service was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at the church, with the Rev. Richard Pricco officiating. Friends may also call at the church from 9 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, until the time of services. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester.

  He was reared and educated in the Abingdon area. He worked as a route delivery man and dock man for the Meadow Gold Dairy in Galesburg for 44 years, retiring in 1990. He served in the National Guard before serving in the Army during the Korean conflict from 1955 to 1957.
  He was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible, Galesburg. He also was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285, Galesburg and a former member of Galesburg Moose Lodge. He was active in the Holy Hilarity Clown Troupe, Galesburg.
  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in First Church of the Open Bible with the Rev. Doug Johnson and Ted Gillum officiating.
  Burial will be at a later date. Military rites will be accorded by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.

  Mr. Fleck was a diesel mechanic at Fiatallis prior to retiring. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He also attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sherman and was a member of the Living Vine Prayer Group. Mr. Fleck was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II.

  Born Jan. 31, 1904, in Schuyler County to Charles and Minnie Johnson Simpson, she married Chester Earl Followell on July 31, 1948, in Palmyra, Mo. He died April 14, 1982, in Peoria. Seven brothers, one grandson and one granddaughter also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are three sons, Burdette E. Brannen and William Brannen, both of Peoria, and Francis Brannen of Edwardsville; two daughters, Olive Hogan of Syracuse, N.Y., and Dorothy Morrell of Rushville; one sister, Hildrath Orr of Rushville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

  She survives along with one son, R. Douglas Taylor of Rushville; two daughters, Sharon Gibbons of Bloomington and Alicia Evans of Normal; one stepson, Gary R. Cameron of Astoria; one stepdaughter, Joy Lynn Kempkes of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Les of Rushville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
  He was a World War II Army veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart.
  He was a mechanic for Schuyler County Community School District 1, then worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation, retiring in 1976. He later was a bus driver for Schuyler School System until 1984. He was a member of the American Legion, Schuyler Post 4. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home, Rushville, the Rev. Wayne Bonser officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where military rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. by the American Legion, Schuyler Post 4. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

  He is survived by three daughters, Amy, Samantha and Emily Forquer all of Burlington, Iowa; one brother, Dwayne Forquer and his wife (Leanne) of Carmen; one sister, Rudy Peterson and her husband (Todd) of Augusta; three half-sisters, Mary Akins, Elizabeth Purtle and her husband (Frank) and Tressa Akins all of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brandon Forquer, a sister, Rita Forquer, a brother, Russell Forquer and his step-father, Cleo Akins.
  He was employed by Lantz Farms of Augusta and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

  Eva M. Fosdyck, 90, Macomb, died at 12:47 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at McDonough District Hospital.
  She was born June 16, 1912, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Charles P. and Ethel (Breen) Curtis. She married William Fosdyck Aug. 24, 1935. He preceded her in death June 9, 1986.
  She is survived by one sister, Thelma Edler, Macomb, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
  She spent her early life in Brooklyn, moving to Macomb in 1927. She worked at Globe American for 25 years and then worked for the office of Drs. Ashenhurst and Henderson in Macomb, retiring in 1974.
  Services were held Saturday Dec. 28, 2002, at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Calvin Stoneking, and one sister, Mary Jane Stoneking.

  She is survived by one son, Robert Foster, Blandinsville; one daughter, Carolyn (Steven) Murray, West Helena, Ark.; one son-in-law, Frank Blickhan, Quincy; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild.
  In addition to her husband,she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia Foster Blickhan, age 49; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Bennett Foster, 51; one grandson, Christopher Murray, 23; and one brother, Bud Garrett.
  Ruth had helped her husband on the family farm for many years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Blandinsville.
  Funeral services were held at the Blandinsville Baptist Church on Wednesday April 10, 2002, with the Rev. Dean Reeverts officiating. Burial was at the Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville.

  He was an employee of Bader Motor Co. in Astoria, Astoria Fibre Steel Plant and last worked for the Freeman United Coal Mine in DuQuoin, from which he retired in 1974. He was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren and the United Mine Workers of America.
  Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Collis Trone will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in rural Astoria.

  He was born June 21, 1926, in Scotland Township, Ill., the son of Rheuben J. and Miriam S. Allen Fowler. He married Marie Leonard June 4, 1950, at the First Baptist Church in Roseville. She survives.
  He is survived by three sons, David (Cora) Fowler, Gary (Candace) Fowler, Westmer, Colo., and Jeffrey Fowler, Denver, Colo.; five granddaughters, Tamara, Samantha, Amanda, Nicole and Camille; one grandson, Daniel; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Lynn; two brothers, Stanley (Helen) Fowler, Monmouth, and Larry (Willa) Fowler, Roseville; two sisters, Evelyne and Shirley Fowler, both of Bushnell; and nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Max Fowler.
  Service were held June 3 at Olinger Rose Arbor Chapel. Pastor Kim Skattum officiated and Stephanie Sachs was organist and soloist. Pallbearers were David Fowler, Gary Fowler, Jeffrey Fowler and Daniel Fowler. Burial was in Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.

  Born June 25, 1918, in Plymouth to Randolph and Myrel Waymack Daniels, she married Lucius Arvien Frakes on March 17, 1934, in Missouri. He passed away May 13, 1973.
  One son and one brother also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are five grandchildren, Dennis Frakes, of Denver and Daniel Frakes, Alan Frakes, Sandy Frakes and Julie Sloan, all of Avon; and 14 great-grandchildren.
  She operated the Industry Restaurant in Industry for seven years. She then worked for Gale Products from 1958 to 1978. She later was a cook at Avon Nursing Home.
  Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Greenbush Cemetery in Greenbush with Rev. Rick Kerr officiating.

  He was a heavy equipment operator for California Union Local 12, International Union of Operating Engineers, and Local 649 of Peoria. He retired in 1990. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda; one granddaughter, Sylvia Michelle; two sisters; and five brothers.
  She and her husband owned and operated the Table Grove Skating Rink for many years. She later worked for Wal-Mart for 22 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Bushnell Assembly of God Church as well as the Industry Assembly of God. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003, at Bushnell Assembly of God Church, with the Rev.   She is survived by one son, Roger Frowein, Macomb; one daughter, Karen (Richard) Helmers, Macomb; three stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Ralph Wilhelm, and one sister, Helen Louise Wilhelm.
  She was a 1938 graduate of Industry High School and a 1973 graduate of Western Illinois University. She taught at Lincoln School in Macomb from 1957 to 1984 and at other rural schools prior to that. She was a 40 year plus member of Laureate Beta Sigma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and served as president and treasurer. She was a member of McDonough Post 6 American Legion Auxiliary.

  He worked at Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville for 18 years.

  He is also survived by two daughters, from his first marriage, Michelle Garrett, Columbus, Ohio, and Dawn (Jonathan) Perry, Normal; one son by his second marriage, Andrew Garrett, Abingdon; two brothers, Rodney (Sharon) Garrett, Streator, and Alan (Marlene) Garrett of Cherry Hills; 2 grandchildren, Shannon Perry and Spencer Perry.
  He graduated from Winola High School in 1964. He worked at the Maytag Corporation in Galesburg for 32 and one-half years retiring March 31, 2002. He later worked as an attendant at Southard’s Car Wash in Abingdon.
  He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 350, Academy of Model Aeronautics, League of Silent Flight, Eastern Iowa Soaring Society, Western Illinois Soaring Society and the National Soaring Society.
  Cremation will be accorded.

  Zelma F. Gillette, 95, Swan Creek, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in Wesley Village Health Care Center, Macomb.
  She was born Jan. 6, 1910, in Augusta, the daughter of George and May (Young) Faler. She married James Arthur Gillette May 28, 1927, in Macomb. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1981.
  She is survived by two sons, Richard Gillette, Gasconade, Mo., and Robert Gillette, Morrison, Mo.; three daughters, Martha Ambrosius and Beverly Tatham, both of Macomb, and Patricia Grime, Industry; one brother, Elmer Faler, Bushnell; one sister, Bertha Burgess, Abingdon; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four grandchildren.
  She grew up in Bushnell, lived in McDonough, Fulton and Warren counties, and resided in Industry for 11 years before moving to Macomb two years ago.
  She was a member of the Swan Creek United Methodist Church.
  Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 at Corman Memorial Home, Roseville. Burial was in Berwick Cemetery.

  Bushnell - James J. Goddard, 72, of 728 N. Sperry St. died at 2:08 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 1998, at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
  Born March 9, 1926, in Clara, Mo., to Nathan J. and Ressie Lybyer Goddard, he married E. Geneva Warren on Dec. 25, 1949, in Bushnell. She survives.
  Also surviving are one son, Clifford of Greybull, Wyo.; one brother, John of Bushnell; two sisters, Nellie Walls of Bushnell and Margie Hollenback of Adair; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  Two daughters, Brenda Goddard and Shirley Lofton, and two brothers preceded him in death.
  He was a truck driver in the Bushnell area. He later worked for the City of Casper, Wyo, for 12 years. He returned to Bushnell in 1988, where he operated Star Mail Route, retiring in 1996. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bushnell Cemetery. The Rev. Stephen Storms will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home.

  Margaret E. Graham, 101, of Macomb, died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Heartland Health Care Center.
  She was born June 7, 1899, in Bushnell, to Charles and Winifred Hanes Hanan. She married James L. Graham Dec. 5, 1919. He died Aug. 12, 1977.
  She is survived by one daughter, Peggy (Lyle) McNeil, Rancho Viego, Texas; three grandchildren, Sandra Perry, Knoxville, Tenn., Michael McNeil, Davenport, Iowa, and David McNeil, Macomb; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Winifred Grigsby, Cary, N.C.
  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Hanan.
  Graveside services and burial were Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Oakwood Cemetery, with the Rev. William Brown officiating. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen was in charge of arrangements.

  Lawrence W. Grainger, 87, Versailles, died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at his residence from complications of his battle with leukemia.
  He was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Tennessee, the son of Charlie L. and Ora (McAvoy) Grainger. He married Mary Eloise Grainger in 1942. She preceded him in death. He later married Mary Hester June 27, 1998. She preceded him in death June 29, 2005.
  He is survived by three sons, Lawrence Walker Grainger, Carthage, Michael Ray Grainger, Rock Island, and John Ora Grainger, Costa Mesa, Calif.; one sister, Blanche Grainger, Carthage; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
  In addition to his two wives and his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles David Grainger; one brother, Raymond Lee Grainger; and one sister, Grace Schaffer.
  He was a self-employed mechanic and truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He was of the protestant faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
  Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery, with Father Thomas Henseler officiating. A military service is to be conducted at the graveside. There is no visitation.
  Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.

  Cecil Floyd Graves, age 82, formerly of 1147 East Carroll Street, Macomb, passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, January 4, 1999, at the Care Center of Abingdon.
  Born May 8, 1916, in McDonough County to John Albert and VaVina Mae Mitchell Graves, he married Garnet Lee Reed on September 21, 1933, in Keokuk, Iowa. She died March 27, 1988.
  One son, Allen, one grandson, five brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
  Surviving are two sons, Eugene of Gilson and Larry of Macomb; one daughter, Dianne Elliott of Morton; one foster son, Frankie Simpson of LaHarpe; one brother, Marvin of Navarre, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
  He and his brother, Harley, owned and operated Graves Garage and Wrecker Service in Macomb for 40 years. He also built stock cars.
  He attended Macomb Baptist Church. He was a member of Argyle Gas Engine Club and Macomb Masonic Lodge 17, AF&AM.
  Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home, Macomb with Rev. Gerald Seabaugh officiating.
  Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb.

  She was born April 11, 1916, in Macomb, the daughter of Marlow B. and Carrie Kline Grafton. She married Glen W. Bartlett March 15, 1936; she then married Willard Gray May 15, 1965. Both are deceased.
  She is survived by one son, Glen E. (Sheryl) Bartlett, Macomb; two daughters, Mary (Robert) Bice, Colchester, and Joan (Marvin) White, Table Grove; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
  In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Marlow Grafton, and one sister, Marguerite Bunnage.
  She worked for Saga Foods at Western Illinois University for 20 years. She was a member of the Blandinsville Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Past Matrons Club.
  Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Jones Mortuary, Colchester, with the Rev. Ernest Louderman officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester.

  She was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Augusta, the daughter of James F. and Irene (Fosdyck) Walton. She married Mark C. Green, Jr., Feb. 28, 1948, in Bowen. He preceded her in death.
  She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Ching Hing, and one son, Mark (Pam) Green III, both of Desert Hot Springs; one sister, Wilma (Don) Markley, Oceanside, Calif.; one brother, James "Wes" (Doris) Walton, Carthage; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Walton, Desert Hot Springs, and Matilda Walton, Colchester; one brother-in-law, Sam Cassel, Colchester; four grandchildren, Kathyrn Victoria Ching Hing, Paul Anthony Ching Hing, Mark C. Green IV and Nicholas C. Green, all of Desert Hot Springs; one step-grandchild, Heather Burke; one step great-grandchild, Ryan Burke; and several nieces and nephews.
  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Walton Cassel, and three brothers, Robert F. Walton, Thomas O. Walton, and Charles F. Walton.
  She had lived in California for 50 years. She and her husband were partners with his parents, Mark and Mable Green, of the Desert Sentinel Newspaper, Desert Hot Springs for 20 years. She then retired from Bank of America after working 20 years.
  Private services will be held at a later date at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Augusta.

  Born Dec. 8, 1894, in Schuyler County to Jacob and Catherine McGuire Rang, she married Glenn Green on March 22, 1919, in Rushville. He died March 7, 1972.
  Two brothers, four sisters and one granddaughter also preceded her in death.
  Surviving are one son, Retired Col. Vernon of Belleville; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Alice) Groen of Pekin; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
  She attended Illinois State Teachers Institute and taught at Independence and White Oak grade schools.
  She was a member of Camden United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher, and was a member of United Methodist Women's Society.
  Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Roby Funeral Chapel, Rushville, the Rev. Howard Thomure officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the chapel. Burial will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

  She is also survived by one son, Justin Jockisch, at home; her mother, Cherry Loveland, Smithfield; her father, Harry "Butch" (Pam) Volk, Peoria; her mother-in-law, Sandra Grisham, Colchester; three brothers, Terry (Dawn) Volk, Smithfield, J.W. Volk, Ipava, and Brian Volk, Peoria; one sister, Dee (Richard) Justice, Pekin; one half brother, Brian, Peoria; one half sister, Chrystal (Mark) Volk, Bartonville; and grandmothers, Mary McClain, Ipava, and Beverly Nebergall, Canton.
  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward McClain.
  A housewife, she also worked at Zeta Corporation in Macomb for two years.
  Services were held Friday, April 19, 2002, at Shawgo Memorial Home, Ipava, with the Rev. Jim Comstock officiating. Burial was in Stites Cemetery, Bernadotte.
