Ten candidates will be on the Collinsville School Board slate for election on April 11. They are Mrs. Elizabeth Cole, Arthur Dellamano, Mrs. Albina Bilyeu, John Grant, Jr., Leroy Krost, Ross Halbrooks, M.T. Doherty, Brad A. Farnworth, W.E. "Joe" Sager and Al Tognarelli. The two incumbents whose terms expire, Board President Ed Holzweg and Leslie Sutton did not file for re-election.

The School Board election Belleville elementary District 118 on April 11 will be uncontested for the first time in six years and only 3 candidates have filed for the two vacancies on the township high school Dist. 21 Board of Education.

Candidates in Dist. 118 are William Handrich, Mrs. Annamae Haines. The incumbents in Dist. 201 are Eugene Hepp, and Herbert Baum. Mrs. Frances Braswell is the 3rd candidate for the two vacancies in Dist . 201

Notre Dame woodwind quintet won honors at Fontbonne College's recent msic festival. The following are members: Lois Miller, May Schwartz, Marilyn Bauer, Josephine Kenetski, Susie Brefeld. The academy;s music students presented their annaul recital Thursday in the school;s auditorium, The recital included both vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles. Listed in the order in which they appeared on the program were Jean Bauer, Amy Chaffin, Maroelene Martin, Carol Sue Scheibel, Martha Lou Scheibel, Jeanie Bores, Carol Brefeld, Mary Lou Blanquatt, Toni Dimie, Shirley Matejka, Mary Beth Obendorfer, Lyn Wuerz, Donna Lawrence, Barbara Engel, Janice Muckenstrum, Pat Polansky, Beverly Jung, Gail Jung, Virginia Valerius, Mary Ann Beis, Janice Huber, Ann Jerger, Nancy Roberts, Dolores Westfall, Ann O'Leary, Mary Dreesman, Marilyn Bauer, Nancy Roberts, Nancy Rekosh and Janice Huber.

A total of 20 St. Teresa Academy mathematicians are to attend the annual high school mathematics field day to be held at Southern Illinois Univ. at Carbondale on April 18.

FRESHMEN: Susan Groves, Julie Buser, Maureen O'Cnnell, Angela Gavelis, Dorothy Pensoneau

SOPHOMORES: Christine Daut, Joan Jones, Mary Brennan, Kathy Teahan, Jean Stewart

JUNIORS: Sharon Hagen, Paula Rodriguez, Virginia Seel, Mary Ann Hancock, Carolyn Daley

SENIORS: Joan Christopher, Carole DeMars, Judy Eros, Connie Koudela, Babara Daut.

Seven additional first year shorthand students have met the year's requirement of 60 words a minute for five minutes. They are: Linda Jacquet, Jane Wolf, Jane Juengling, Mary Ann Pope, Suzanne Schindler, Dolores Soboleski and Jane Schutenhofer. Special honor goes to Leona Kowalski who has already reached the high goal of 80 WPM for five minutes.

Eight candidates are competing for the title of MISS COLUMBIA during centennial celebrations this year. in Columbia, Il. The candidates are: Germaine Schaffer, Karen Ludwig, Margaret Ann Kruse, Mary Louise Crowe, Mary Lou Miller, Larol Lee Daab, Judy Vogt, Mary Pearl Grueninger.
