The 1896 Tornado!


On Wednesday, May 26, 1896, at approximately 5:15 pm, a tornado hit the area of St. Louis, MO and East St. Louis, IL.  The following pages reveal what was written by the East St. Louis Journal reporters during the weekend that followed.
