ELIZABETH C. ASPINWALL, residing on section 32, Harlem Township, is a daughter of Robert C. and Mary (Stearns) Schofield, a sketch of whose life appears in this work. She was born in Charlotte, Chautauqua Co., N. Y., on the 8th of May, 1842, and was about two years of age when her parents came to Stephenson County, where her life has been spent. Her marriage with John S. Aspinwall took place in Harlem Township on the 13th of October, 1859. She is the honored mother of three living children – Carrie E., Nettie O. and Edith K. Carrie is the wife of Henry F. Wallbaum, and resides in Plymouth County, Iowa; Nettie and Edith are at home with their mother. A son, Worthy J., died in infancy, June 30, 1881.
Mrs. Aspinwall is the owner of 120 acres of land, the greater portion of which is under a high state of cultivation. The farm buildings, including the residence, are above the average. She displays great tact in the management of her farm, and everything about the premises is as orderly arranged as are the details of a well conducted household. She is a consistent member of the Baptist Church and takes great interest in its affairs.
