MRS. ACKLEY
DIES IN MURPHYSBORO
Mrs. Lillie Lillian Ackley, 73, of 1116 N. 11h St., Murphysboro, was.
dead, on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital, Murphysboro, Thursday
afternoon after an apparent heart failure.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Born June 6, 1895, in Una, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Barker. She was married to the Rev. Raymond
Ackley on Dec. 3, 1913, in Elk Prairie. He died Dec. 24,
1967.
She leaves daughters, Mrs. Inez Woodrick, Burbonian; the Rev. Mrs.
Wilma
Lentz of Tamms, and Mrs. Geneva Cowell of Murphysboro; sons, Clyde
Ackley of Middleton and Hershel Ackley of Bonfield; sister,
Mrs. Helen Wilson of Petersburg;
brother, Charlie Barker of Baroda, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Ackley will be
2 p.m. Sunday in the Tamms Community Pentecostal Church, with the
Rev. Charles Mayberry and the
Rev. Herbert Ridlin officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Farnsworth Funeral Home,
Tamms, today.

RAYMOND ACKLEY
Raymond Ackley,
preacher, dies.
The Rev.
Raymond Ackley, 72, retired Pentecostal
preacher of 1116 N. 11th St., Murphysboro died early Sunday morning
while asleep in the home of relatives in Kankakee.
The Rev. Mr. Ackley was a member of the board of trustee of the Elco
Camp Meeting.
He leaves his wife Lillie Lillian Ackley of Murphysboro; daughters,
Mrs.
Inez Woodrick of Kankakee, the Rev. Mrs. Wilma Lentz of Tamms and Mrs.
Geneva Cowell of Murphysboro; sons, Clyde of Middleton and Hershel of
Kankakee.
Funeral services were 1:30 p. m. today at the Tamms
Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Charlie Mayberry of Jonesboro
and the Rev. Herbert Ridlen of Marion officiated. Burial was
in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
Farnsworth Funeral Home, Tamms, was in charge of arrangements.

HOBART ADAMS

Anna, Ill.--Hobart Adams, 90 years old, of Anna, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 1987 at the Life Care Center in Jonesboro.
He was born Aug. 11, 1897 in Union County, son of Joel and Sarah Latham Adams.
Survivors include three nieces, Mable Kaufman of Anna, Jessalyn Canupp
of Cypress and Glenna Glass of Benton; and one nephew, Orad Adams of
Compton.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Crain Funeral Home of Anna.

Cobden,
IL.--Margaret Elizabeth Aldridge, 87, of Decatur, IL, formerly
of Cobden and Anna, IL, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at Fairhaven
Christian Home in Decatur.
She was born Sept. 7, 1919 at Cobden,
daughter of Thomas and Nellie
Hankla Aldridge.
Aldridge was employed at Florsheim Shoe Co.
37 years. She was
a member of Bethel Baptist Church near Cobden.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Juanita
Aldridge of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service
time Thursday at Lutz and
Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug
23, 2007) at the funeral
home with the Rev. Clifford Heil officiating.
Burial will be
in
Cobden Cemetery.

Barbara Jane Anderson

Barbara Jane
Anderson, 53, of Cobden passed away June 29, 2006, at home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1952, to Harold and Mary (Bremer) Funk.
Jane married James Alan Anderson on Jan. 2, 1979. He survives of
Cobden. Jane and Alan have a daughter, Haley Anderson, and a son, Brian
Anderson, both of whom survive of Cobden.
In addition to her husband and children, Jane is survived by her
father, Harold Funk of Springfield; her brothers, Michael Funk of
Hillsboro and Richard Funk of House Springs, Mo.; nephews, Shannon Funk
of Niantic and Luke Funk of Hillsboro; nieces and nephew, Ashley, Adam
and Annie Funk of Ballwin, Mo.; and great-niece and great-nephews,
Megan, John and Zack Funk of Hillsboro.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Funk, maternal
grandparents, Lawrence and Estelle Bremer, and paternal grandparents,
Valle and Hattie Funk.
Jane's family moved from Hillsboro to Springfield, where she graduated
high school. She then earned bachelor's and master's degrees from
Illinois State University. Jane completed a yearlong internship at
Bethalto schools and became a certified school psychologist. In 1978
she began a 25-year career as a contractual school psychologist with
the juvenile division of Illinois Department of Corrections. During her
tenure with IDOC, Jane was honored for her professional work by the
State of Illinois, being designated as among Those Who Excel. In 2003,
she was employed by Tri County Special Education District as the Union
County school psychologist. She retired in 2005.
Jane had a
variety of talents and interests. She was an avid photographer who
enjoyed nature. Playing Bunco, dining, traveling, hiking, making
jewelry, weaving baskets, collecting, knitting and crocheting were
among her favorite activities. Jane and her best friend, Carole Baker,
made and contributed many scarves for women receiving cancer treatments
in St. Louis.
It was Jane's wish that, in lieu of flowers, her friends contribute
memorials to Hope Lodge in St. Louis. Hope Lodge provides free rooms to
cancer patients and their caregivers during periods of hospitalization
and treatments.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006, in Lutz and
Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Chad Ozee officiating.
Interment will be in Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8
p.m. today at the funeral home.

DOROTHY
ANDERSON ANGELLY
Goreville,
Ill.--Dorothy Anderson Angelly, 89, of
Goreville died at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1919 in Union County, Ill., daughter of John
Harrison and Elvira Viola Arnold Wheaton. She and Audrey
Anderson were married July 12, 1935. He died Aug. 3, 1990.
She later married Russell Angelly.
She was a member of the Busby Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in
Goreville.
She had been a volunteer at the Goreville
Ministerial Alliance.
She was a past member of the Pulaski
Alexander County Home Extension.
She was a volunteer with the
Massac Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Robert L. Anderson of Goreville; two
daughters, Sue Barnett of Goreville and Sherma Cain of Elgin, Ill.;
stepson, Gary Angelly of Brookport, Ill.; stepdaughter, Sue Borman of
Metropolis, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 12
great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and several
great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Florene Smith of Marshall, Mo;
and Ida Jane Childers of Plato Center, Ill.
She was
preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; five brothers,
Lester Wheaton, Herman Wheaton, Alfred Wheaton, Frank Wheaton and
Luther Wheaton; sister, Faye Childers; and five infant siblings.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in
Anna-Jonesboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the
Revs. Brent Scheutz and Bob Ferguson, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

JOANN ARNOLD

Jonesboro, Ill.--Joann Arnold, 63, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of
Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at United Regional Hospital in
Wichita Falls.
She was born April 2, 1945 in Valmeyer, Ill., daughter of Louis L. and
Verda Thompson Wild. She married Willis "Bud" Arnold.
Survivors include her husband; three brothers, Richard Wild of Mounds,
Ill., Harry Wild of Cairo, Ill., Kenneth Wild of Mount Vernon, Ill;
three sisters, Shirley Hill of Herrin, Ill., Karen Bracken and Patricia
Rundles of Cairo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Tom
Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

DANIEL G. AUSTIN

HIGHWAY ACCIDENT KILLS ANNA YOUTH
Daniel
G. Austin
A 9:30 a.m.
accident Thursday on Union State Forest Road, two miles
west of Rt. 127, resulted in the death of an 18-yearold Anna youth.
Daniel G. Austin, driver of the accident vehicle, died at
11:35 a.m. at
Union County Hospital, Anna. Two passengers Donald G. Winn, 16, and
Maurice B. McGough, 13, both of Anna, were injured.
According
to District ISA State Police, Austin lost control of the vehicle and it
left the
roadway and overturned. Winn was treated and released at
Union County Hospital. McGough was admitted to the hospital
and later released.
Austin was born July 24,
1952 in Anna, the son of Henry and Eula Jackson Austin.
He is
survived by his mother, of 200 Williams St., Anna; his father of
Orlando, Fla.; sisters Diane of Orlando and Janice Mae of Anna;
brothers, Larry of Ft.
Stewart, Ga. and Alan who is serving in Vietnam; a maternal
grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jackson of Anna; and other relatives.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at McCarty Funeral Home, Anna.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McCarty Funeral Home,
Anna, for Daniel G. Austin, who died after an automobile accident last
Thursday. The Rev. Clifton Lingle will officiate.
Burial will be in Kelley Cemetery, east of Cobden. Friends
may call at the funeral home.
