![]() OTIS L. DAVIS, Elkville, Dies Otis Levi “Pappy” Davis, 72, of 103 S. 7th St., Elkville, formerly of Carbondale, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday in Pinckneyville Community Hospital. He had been in the hospital 19 days. He was a retired Illinois Central Railroad carpenter in the bridge and building section. He was a member of the Saratoga Methodist Church. He was born in Saratoga April 22, 1892, the son of George Adolphus ad Elizabeth Haire Davis. He was married to Agnes Ella King in Alto Pass, Oct. 18, 1913. He leaves a son, George Otis Davis, of Carbondale; daughters, Mrs. Alice Hoops of Wayne, Michigan, Mrs. John Mayo of Utica, Michigan, Mrs. Thomas McGee of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Wanda Morgan and Mrs. James Manis of Elkville, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Frank Miller, and Mrs. Archie Kelley, all of Carbondale; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Huffman Funeral Home, Carbondale, with Rev. Owen Hunter officiating. He is pastor of the Elkville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
