Dorothe Mae (Vancil) Claxton

Dorothe Mae Vancil Claxton, 65, of 1912 Shoemaker Drive, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 1993, at home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pettet Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Worley officiating. Burial wll be in Alto Pass Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Claxton worked as a waitress for 20 years at Tippy's Restaurant in Murphysboro.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in the Murphysboro.

She was born May 29 1928, in Union County to Lawrence Vancil and Jessie (Butcher) Vancil.

Survivors include wo sons, Michael Claxton of Carterville and Larry Claxton of Northway, Alaska; three daughters, Sue Graff of Murphysboro, Rita Schaefer of Fairview Heights and Carol Tindall of DeSoto; 12 grandchildren; and one sister, Bobbie Vancil of Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, John Thomas Claxton, and one granddaughter, Megan Tindall.
