Eliza Jane Claxton
Life long resident of Cobden Dies: Leaves 67 Decendents. Mrs. Eliza Jane Claxton, 93 year old life-long resident of Cobden, died Friday about 8:45 p. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nona Nance, in Cobden after an extended illness. She leaves 67 descendents and was the widow of Alonzo H. Claxton. She was oldest member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden.
In addition to Mrs. Nance, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Etta Kerley of Peoria; and Mrs. Virgie Baggott of Chillicothe; three sons, Ira Claxton of Coden, Orlie Claxton of Elmira, N. Y., and Clovis Claxton of Key West, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral serices were held Sunday at 2 p. m. at the First Baptist Church in Cobden, with the pastor, the Rev. Arnold Hoffman, and the Rev. Lyman S. Allen of Henderson, Ky., officiating.
