Helen Newbold, 91, formerly of Alto Pass, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill.

She was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Alto Pass, daughter of Frank and Cora Cauble Willey. She and Lowell A. Newbold were married Feb. 6, 1932, in Murphysboro, Ill. He died Jan. 15, 1977.

Helen was a member Congregational Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Stearns of Heber Springs, Ark., Beverly Hawk of Alto Pass; two sons, Lowell Newbold of Milford, Ill., Donald Newbold of Gainesville, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Willey of Arlington, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Janet Lindsey and Davy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
