| Browning Wiggs/Newton Cemetery |
Located: Twp 12S, R1E, Sec 13. The obituary of Laura (Newton) MILES, w/o Isaac M. Miles, in the 5 Sep 1896 Jonesboro Gazette,
states that she died 31 August 1896 at her home in Reynoldsville, aged
about 22 years, and was buried in Newton Cemetery south of Lick Creek.

Twp 12S, R1W, NW quarter of
NWquarter Sec 26. The will of Daniel Spence on 8 Jan 1874,
bequeathed 1/4 acre of ground know as Cedar Grove Cemetery to Union
County. Anna Newell
also has information that states that Daniel Spence was buried in Cedar
Grove Cemetery. Believed to be a few miles east of Anna off Route
146. |

Located: Twp 13S,
R2W, NW quarter of NE quarter, Sec 25 on 1908 atlas. Mrs. John
(Smith) CRUSE died 31 Jul 1891, and according to her obituary in the Jonesboro Gazette was buried on the old homestead. |
| Dug Hill (Bolte) |
Twp 12S, R2W, NW quarter of
NW quarter Sec 29; thought to be in reference to human remains that
were discovered when the road was widened; some believe them to have
been Indian remains, but they were allegedly in wooden boxes when
found. |
| Fellowship/New Hope |
Located: Twp 12S,
R1E, SE quarter of SW quarter Sec 10 and NE quarter of NWquarter Sec 15
on 1908 Atlas. Located on the south side of New Hope Road where
New Hope Church stands. A driveby shows an old road bed a little
to the west of the church, going off to the south. Cemetery
possibly at end of this road. |

Go left (north) on Russell Lane. Cemetery at end of lane or

| Hunsaker Cemetery |
Located: Twp 13S,
R1W, NE quarter Sec 17. Several attempts were made to locate the
cemetery and landowners were contacted. No one living in the area
has any knowledge of the cemetery. |
| S. T. Hunsaker Cemetery |
Twp 12S, R1W, NW quarter of
SE quarter Sec 21. The death certificate of Emily R. Hunsaker
states she died 15 Jan 1908 in Alto Pass and was buried in a home
cemetery. The death certificate of Montgomery Hunsaker who died
21 Apr 1910, eight miles east of Alto Pass. |

Twp 11S, R2W, NW quarter of
Sec 13 on 1981 atlas. This cemetery is on land owned by Eckert
Orchard Association in 1981. It is located on maps north off
Jamestown Rd at the end of Hale Lane. Some maps show Duty Lane,
off St. Rt. 51, goes generally south and possibly runs into Hale Lane.

| M & O Railroad |
Twp 12S, R2W, Sec 36. The 08 Aug 1896 Jonesboro Gazette
states that an unidentified man was found on the railroad 02 Aug 1896
and was burie4d where he was found, one mile west or south of
Jonesboro. The body was badly decomposed. |

BUSBY, Mary, d. 31 Oct 1908 in Wolf Lake.
GRIFFIN, Mary, d. 17 Feb 1907
WOODS, George, d. 26 Feb 1906 in Wolf Lake buried there per his death certificate.
Located north off the State Forest Rd in the Shawnee National Forest.
Entry is via Hoot Owl Lane. Just into the wwods on the west
side of the road the cemetery runs north along a ridge. |
| Mt. Carmel |
Twp 11S, R1E, NE quarter of
SW quarter Sec 3. This cemetery is on land owned by the federal
government know as Panther Den Wilderness. Go west past Mt.
Hebron Church, pass Fellowship Church and Cemetery about a half a mile
until the road come to a "T." Turn right and go about a half mile
to the north until the road curves to the west. Enter the trail
at the curve and hike north about one half mile to cemetery.
According to death certificates the following people are buried here:

ESCUE, Margaret, d. 13 Sep 1906 near Oakville.
ESKEW, William, d. 06 Jul 1881.
FLY, Mary Ann, w/o M. L., d. 19 Aug 1854, aged 49y, 4m. (Believed to be buried here)
HENLEY, Martha, d. 20 Aug 1881.

PETSCH, Mrs. Frank, d. 28 Feb 1891 buried here according to obituary.
Cemetery adjoins Rendleman Cemetery. Frank Petsch owned 80 acres in
section 26 adjoining 77 acres of Jacob Rendleman in 1908.

states that several attempts were made to locate this cemetery and
landowners were contacted. No one living in the neighborhood has
any knowledge of the cemetery. It is thought that the 1981 plat
directory mislocated the Moses Meisenheimer Cemetery. |

land owned by Glen Hankla trust. From US 51 and IL 146, south to
Friendship School Road on the left. Continue generally east,
until just past Nash Road on the right. It is just west of I-57,
or take the country route from Christian Chapel Rd north off
Dongola-Cypress blacktop to Friendship Rd, turn left. |

NW quarter Sec 21. This cemetery appears on a Shawnee National
Forest map. From IL 146 & U. S. 51 go north on US 51 past
Wing Hill Rd and past Bell Hill Rd. Turn left (west) on to
Blueberry Hill Rd. Turn left (east) off Blueberry Hill Rd on to
the first road (probably a private lane). |
