Alline McCommons

 Alline McCommons, 86, of Anna died Friday, July 28, 2006, at Sherman West Court in Elgin, Ill.

She was born Aug. 14, 1919, at Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of Charles and Myrtle Hurst Robertson. She and Paul A. Coffman were married in 1939; he died in 1948. She married Don F. McCommons in 1953, and he died in 1995.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Anna and had worked as a school cook.

Survivors include a son, Paul A. Coffman of Elgin, a daughter, Janet Sue McCommons of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Dee Armes officiating. Interment will be in Anna Cemetery.

MARCELLA MC COMMONS

  Dongola, IL--Marcella McCommons, 73, of rural Dongola died Tuesday, Jan 15, 2008 at her home.
  She was born June 10, 1934, daughter of William and Myrtle Scronce Dillow.  She and George McCommons were married May 5, 1951 in Piggott, Ark.
  Survivors include her husband; a son, Carroll McCommons of Dongola; two daughters, Brenda Cooley of Dongola, Diane Kraatz of Jonesboro, Ill.; two brothers, Jim Dillow of Shannon, IL, Gary Dillow of Olive Branch, IL; four sisters, Lula Tripp and Shirley Simmerman of Dongola, Joyce Poole and Pat Webb of Anna, IL; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.  
  The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan 19, 2008) at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

MARY LOU MC CORD



    Mrs. Mary Lou McCord, 74, of Anna, died Wednesday morning at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
    She was born on Dec. 8, 1916, in Anna, the daughter of Oscar and Aurelia Toler Granay.
    She was married in 1939 to William Oliver McCord.  He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1990.
    Mrs. McCord is survived by two sons, Michael McCord of Anna and William McCord of Apopka, Fla.; two daughters, Gloria Snow of Ballwin, Mo., and Linda Mitchum of Temple Hills, Md.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vern Granay and Warden Granay, both of Anna; and other relatives.
    There will be no visitation of services.
    Crain funeral home of Anna is in charge of arrangements.

Flossie McGinness

 Flossie M. McGinness, 93, of Cairo died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at her home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1910, in Elco, Ill., daughter of Thomas and Lulu Brimm. She married John McGinness, who died in 1984.

She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Dora McGinness, Louise Hornberger and Mary Satterfield, all of Cairo; two sons, Frank and Donald McGinness of Cairo; a sister, Martha Jordan of Anna, Ill.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four sisters and five brothers.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Dongola, Ill.

Debra McGrath

 Debra Jean McGrath, 47, of Godfrey died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at her home.

She was born Aug. 4, 1954, in Elco, Ill., daughter of Donald E. and Vera J. Burns Bridges.

She was a caretaker with Home Health Services in Godfrey.

Survivors include her parents of Godfrey; two sons, Shane Makczak of Jerseyville, Ill., Timothy Woodrome of Granite City, Ill.; a brother, Billy Bridges of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and a grandson.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill. The Rev. Tom Bridges will officiate. There is no visitation.

Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

ELBERT C. MCINTIRE

  SHIRLEY, IL - The funeral for Elbert C. "Mac" McIntire, 67, of Shirley will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Dean Benton will officiate. Burial will be in Funks Grove Cemetery, McLean. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the memorial home.
  He died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday (March 18, 1999) at his residence. Mr. McIntire was born on Aug. 28, 1931, in Dongola, IL, a son of Clyde and Hazel Hinkle McIntire. He married Emma Lee Mollet on April 18, 1954, in Greenville. She died Oct. 19, 1986. He later married Marcella L. Pearson Beyer on Nov. 25, 1988, in Bloomington. She survives in Shirley.
  Other survivors include his mother in Owensboro, Ky.; two sons, Russ (Cheryl) McIntire, Interlachen, Fla.; and Hal (Kim) McIntire, Oxford, Mich.; one daughter, Ellen (Randy) Birky, Bloomington; one stepson, Steven W. Beyer, Tampa, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Carol L. (Ralph) Morgan, Bloomington; one brother, Hillman McIntire, Sugar Hill, Ga.; one sister, Anette O'Neal, Owenboro; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his father.
  Mr. McIntire was a member of the Burger-Benedict American Legion Post of McLean. He was a former fireman and trustee of the Dale Township Fire Department. He was a 1949 graduate of Vienna High School and earned his B.S. in Agriculture in 1953 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and master's degree from Illinois State University, Normal, in 1963.
  He taught agriculture at McLean-Waynesville High School from 1955 to 1963. He owned and operated McIntire Agriculture Supply in Shirley from 1963 to 1979. He was director of transportation for the Olympia School District from 1979 to 1991.
  He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and served in the Army reserves from 1955 to 1968 where he obtained the rank of major.

ELIZABETH MC INTIRE

Dongola, IL--Died, Sunday, Dec. 18th, 1892, Mrs. Elizabeth McIntire, living eight miles north east of Dongola.  She was about 78 years of age.  Mrs. McIntire was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, in the year of 1820, and moved to Union County, Illinois, about the year 1856, where she has made her home ever since.  She belonged to the Methodist church while in North Carolina, but after she moved here she joined the Baptist church.  She lost her husband about 5 years ago and after his death she moved from her farm to Dongola and lived with her son, A. Woodward, until last fall when she moved back to her farm, where she was living at the time of her death.  The remains were interred at the McGinnis cemetery.  She leaves two sons, J. W. and A. Woodward, several grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

Hazel McIntire

 Hazel McIntire, 94, of Owensboro, Ky., died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Carmel Home in Owensboro.

She was born March 20, 1907, in Dongola, Ill., daughter of Elbert Jefferson and Nancy Keller Hinkle. She and Clyde McIntire were married in 1928. He died in 1985.

Formerly of Anna, she retired as a dietitian from Anna State Hospital. She was a member of Third Baptist Church in Owensboro.

Survivors include a daughter, Annette O'Neal of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons.

Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Anna Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.

DOYLE MC LANE



DOYLE MC LANE SERVICES SET
Services for Doyle McLane, 75, of East Alton will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Norris and Son Funeral Home, Jonesboro, with the Rev. Phil Asbury officiating.
Mr. McLane died Tuesday at home.  He was a security guard.
 Born Oct. 18, 1896, in Illinois, he was the son of Millard and Nora Parker McLane.  Surviving are his wife Bessie; a son, Earl, of East Alton; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a brother, Orland, of Carterville. 
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.  Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.

FRANK MC NIER



  Frank McNier, 77, of Anna died Friday, March 8, 2002, at City Care Center in Cobden, Ill. He was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Carbondale, Ill., son of David Frank and Mildred Frances Mayhew McNier. He and Mildred Batson were married Aug. 12, 1948. She died April 2, 1992.
  McNier was a retired dispatcher with Illinois Central Railroad.
  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.
  Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Riney of Jackson, Mo., three sisters, Jane (Bill) Pendleton of Farmington, Mo., and Julia (Ed) Ludwig of San Diego, Calif., Dorothy Jeanne Risinger of Centralia, Ill,, one grandson, Stephen Lentz of Cape Girardeau, MO., and many nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents.
  Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
  Private graveside service will be held Monday at Anna Cemetery, with the Rev. Sidney Davis officiating.
