1825 deed Joseph and Delila McElhany to Elijah Willard, Union Co, IL

This indenture made and entered into this 8th day of October anno dom one thousand eight hundred and twenty five
between Joseph McElhaney and Delila his wife of the first part and Elijah Willard of the second part all of the
County of Union and State of Illinois, witnessed thou the said Joseph McElhany and Delila his wife aforesaid party
of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of ninety five dollars to them in hand paid by the aforesaid
Elijah Willard the party of the second part the receipt where of they do hereby
acknowledge and the said Elijah
Willard the party of the second part there from discharged have GRANTED BARGINNED SOLD Transferred, conveyed and
confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain, Sell, transfer conveyed and confirmed to the said Elijah Willard
the party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple by general warranty a certain parcel or
lot of ground or land situate lying and being in the aforesaid County of Union in the State of Illinois and adjoining
to the Town of Jonesborough and bounded as follows to wit
Beginning at a stake corner in the centre of Mississippi Street twenty five feet north of the section line,
which section line is the Southern boundary of the said Joseph McElhany's land thence north in a direct line with
the Main Street of the said Town of Jonesborough four hundred and forty three feet three inches to a stake corner
on a thirteen foot ally thence south with said ally four hundred forty three feet three inches to the center of
said Mississippi Street and within twenty five feet of the above mentioned Southern boundary Section line and thence
east along the middle of said street ninety eight feet to the beginning on Main street with the use of Main Street
in front of said lot seventy two feet wide and the use of said Mississippi Street fifty feet wide which street
divides said lot from the enclosed lot of Daniel Kittery which is numbered ninety four the said Willard leaving
twenty five feet as half of the Mississippi Street the same to be enjoyed by the said Willard his heirs and assigns
a public and common highway forever. The aforesaid lot of ground to contain one full acre and to Hold the said
lot of ground with all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the
said Elijah Willard his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Joseph McElhany and Delila his wife do covenant
to and with the said Willard that they will forever warrant and defend the same against all claims whatsoever.
In testimony whereof the said Joseph McElhany and Delila his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals this
day month and year first above written.
