Summers D. "Byrd" Parker, 89, of Alto Pass died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his home.

He was born April 12, 1912, in Lorena, Miss., son of Jeff and Ethel Russum Parker. He and Marie Greer were married Dec. 24, 1939, in Dubach, La.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Betty Sirles of Alto Pass, Sandra Brown of Nashville, Ill.; a brother, W.H. "Red" Parker of St. Louis; two sisters, Merle Anderson of Centralia, Ill., Pauline Ryan of Paducah, Ky.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gilbert Gee will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery
