Note : The only thing I find to be in error is his age. Everything else I have indicates he was born in 1827, making him 90 years old. Although censuses say his birth was in Indiana, it could well have been Kentucky. I know some Whights went from Kentucky to Indiana.

Served in the Army Of The United States Of America :
      Volunteer Enlistment - Chicago, Cook County, Illinois - February 17, 1865.
            Alvin P. White, 19 years of age, born in Indiana, with an occuaption of farmer enlsisted for one year.
            He stood 5 feet 4 inches tall, with blue eyes, dark hair and a dark complexion.
            Mustered in Detachment of Unassigned U. S. Volunteers in Chicago on February 17, 1865
            On March 9, 1865 he mustered in as a Private with Company K, 156th Regiment, Illinois Infantry.
            He mustered out on September 20, 1865 in Memphis, Tennessee
      Declaration For Pension ( under the Act of February 6, 1907) - April 5, 1912
            Alvin P. White at the age of 65 years and a resident of Ingomar, Rosebud County, Montana,
            filed for pension for Civil War sevice with Company K, 156th Regiment, Illinois Volunteer Infantry.
            He listed his birth as November 14, 1847 in Petersburgh, Indiana.

      Alvin Perry White left his family when my grandfather was about 2 years old and went to Montana where on March 1, 1883, in Fremont County, Iowa, he married a second (or third) time to Elizabeth Sparks and had 2 sons and a daughter by her.
      He freighted buffalo from Montana to Canada.
Perry & Sarah White had five children born in Washington County, Illinois, or Jefferson County, Illinois.

Conduct Services For Brother of Billings Resident
Forsyth, April 30 -- Funeral services were held Tursday afternoon from the Booth Mortuary for Oliver White, 58, of Ingomar, who died at a local hospital, Tuesday of Tick Fever. Services were in charge of the Rev. W. C. Smith of the Methodist Church.
      He was born in Harrison, Neb. March 9, 1884, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry White. He had engaged in ranching in the Ingomar community and near Forsyth since 1907.
      The only survivor is a brother Thomas White of Billings.

Cora Coon
      Cora Coon, 82, 213 S 28th St., died Thursday at a Billings hospital of natural causes.
      Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday at Settergren-Carey Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James Fitzhugh of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in Mountainview Cemetery.
      Mrs. Coon was born Sept. 3, 1886 in Harrison, Neb. She was married to Clarence R. Coon in aug. 1942 in Omaha, Neb. They lived in Nebraska, near Brady and came to Billings in 1945, where they lived since.
      Mr. Coon died in 1967. she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
      Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Everett Diehl of Cheyenne Wyo.

Billings Man Dies Suddenly
Heart Attack Fatal to Tom White
      Tom White, 68, of Blue Creek, star route, died of a heart attack at 1:35 p.m., Wedneday while buying plumbing equipment at the Christenson Plumbing & Heating Company of Billings. He was in the shop talking to his brother-in-law, Clarence Coon of 213 South Braodway, when the attack came.
      The Billings fire department administered oxygen for 20 minutes before Mr. White was pronounced dead by a Billings physcian.
      He was born in Harrison, Neb., March 27, 1889, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Thomas White, and moved to Ingomar in 1907. He married Violet Harris in Forsyth 36 years ago.
      Surviving are his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Welsh of Boise, Idaho and Mrs. Ed. Holbert of Absarokee, a son Albert White of 2091 South Billings Boulevard; a sister Mrrs. Clarence Coon and eight grandchildren.
      The body is at Smith's Funeral home.
Note : Absarokee is in Stillwater County, Montana.

      The marriage of Mr. Omie Campbell and Miss Gladys White took place Sunday noon, October 28th in the Methodist church at the conclusion of the morning service in the presence of the congregation. The ceremony was performed by the pastor, Rev. Earl Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor attending witnesses. The bride who has made her home with Miss Ruth Walker for the past several years, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alford White. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Campbell. The young couple will reside on the Louis Opennlander farm west of town and have the best wishes of a host of friends and relatives.

      The home of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Qualls at Du Bois provided the scene for the wedding Saturday of their son Eugene to Miss Rosemma Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Omie Campbell of Richview.
      Rev. Carl Arnold, pastor of Forman Methodist church in this city, preformed the ceremony in the afternoon at 2 o'clock and relatives and friends were present. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pratt of Ashley the later a niece of the groom, attended the couple. Spring flowers decorated the home.
      The bride was costumed in a light blue gabardine suit and wore a gardenia corsage, her bridesmaid being in a gray suit with yellow corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Qualls are both employed at the candy factory in Centralia.
      Guests present for the wedding and the reception which followed the service were Mr. and Mrs. Omie Campbell of Richview; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pratt of Ashley; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Ragland and children of Terre Haute, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Frieman and children of Oakdale; Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Greer and son of Ashley; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Qualls and children of Carlyle; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jones and children of Nashville; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ackerman and Jerry and Darlene; Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Qualls and the grandparents of the bride and an aunt of hers from Chicago.
