Ernest was born in Hannibal, Mo., and worked for the St. Louis Hannibal and Quincy RR in Hannibal for a while; then had a shoe store in St. Louis for a short time and until retirement was with the Gravois Planing Mill of St. Louis as a woodworker. Martha and Ernest are buried in Bethlehem Cemetery, St. Louis Co.

Both Joyce and Richard are graduates of James Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois. Richard was a partner in Med-Pac Hospital Supplies.

6. Thomas Charles Ahlers - b. Sept. 26, 1941. Graduate of Drury College and Washington U., St. Louis. Has DDS degree and is an Orthodontist in Hutchinson, Kans. He fulfilled his military obligation by spending 2 years in US Public Health Service. Not married.
4. Sophie Meinert - b. Sept. 7, 1881; d. Sept. 11, 1971; m. Sept. 20, 1911, William E. Weiner of St. Louis - b. June 15, 1887; d. June 5, 1960. They were married at Zion Lutheran Church, St. Louis, Mo. 2 children - William & Bernice. The Weiners lived in St. Louis until about 1947 when they moved to a farm north of Nashville and lived there a number of years, later moving to Nashville, where he was employed as a shipping clerk by Nashville Sandal Co. He died in June of 1960 after an illness of several months. Sophie spent the last 8 years of her life living with her daughter at La Blanc, Mich. Her wish to live to see her 90th birthday was fulfilled. She died four days after it.
5. William E. Weiner b. July 5, 1912; m. June 6, 1936, Vera Oribe -b. June 24,1911. 2 children - Diane & Judith. William has been employed by Monsanto Chemical Co. for 30 years. He has attended Washington U. Night School some 10 or 15 years receiving certificates in various branches of Engineering. They now live in Dayton, Ohio.
6. Diane Weiner - b. Feb. 21, 1938; m. April 30, 1960, Robert Green. No children. Diane attended Missouri University and Robert is a graduate of Mo. U. Both are presently employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, O., where Diane is a Secretary and Robert's work has to do with cost analysis. Robert served in the armed forces. Diane is presently taking some college courses.
6. Judith Weiner - b. Aug. 26, 1941; m. June 16, 1962, John Helling. 2 children - Melanie - b. July 21, 1964. Bruce - b. Sept. 11, 1968. Judith is a graduate of Ohio Uni-versity in the field of science. John graduated from St. Olaf's College, Minn. Has a Master's degree and Doctorate in Organic Chemistry. He is a Professor at the U. of Florida. They live in Gainesville.
5. Bernice Weiner - b. Jan. 14, 1914; m. Nov. 23, 1938, Robert H. Menges - b. Sept. 29,1911. 2 children - Carolyn Ann & Robert H. Menges Jr. (twins). Robert graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1934. He was associated with the Reserves in St. Louis, Mo. He was on active duty for 51/2 years during W.W.II II, both in the Atlantic and Pacific. Was released from active duty in Sept., 1946, with the rank of Commander. The same year they moved to Flint, Mich., where he was active in establishing and organizing a Reserve Unit. He served for sev-eral years as Battalion Commander, retiring in 1957 after 22 years of satisfactory service with the rank of Captain. He has been associated with the Chevrolet Division of General Motors in various capacities for 36 years.
6. Carolyn Ann Menges - b. July 22, 1947; m. Feb. 29, 1970, David Mason Hol-lenbeck - b. Jan. 5, 1947. No children. Carolyn has a degree in Medical Technology. David graduated from Michigan State in 1968 and received his Master's in Marketing from Mich. State in 1970. He was in the ROTC program and has the rank of 2nd Lt. He spent 3 mos. on active duty at Ft. Knox, Ky., being discharged Jan., 1971. He is in the Army Reserve. Is now employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Co. They live in Grand Rapids, Mich.
6. Robert H. Menges Jr. - b. July 22, 1947; m. July 18, 1970, Kathrin Rates - b. Aug. 15, 1950. No children. Robert attended Flint Jr. College, Flint, Mich., 2 years, after which, he entered the Apprentice Program (Tool & Die) of Chevrolet Metal Fabricating. He is now a Journeyman in Tool & Die. He had boot training in the Naval Reserve Program until a personal injury resulted in a discharge from the Navy. Kathrin is a Cosmetologist.
4. Anna Meinert -b. Oct. 6, 1883; d. Aug. 26, 1968; m. Edward Buchmueller -b. April 2, 1882; d. 1925. 3 children - Maureen; Edward; Anna Mae. Anna's 2nd marriage was to Benjamin Graham. 3rd marriage to Carl Rampendahl - b. Apr. 5, 1881; d. Aug. 26, 1968. Carl and Anna died suddenly of heart attacks the same day. They had a double funeral and are buried in St. Louis.

Bill, in partnership with his brother Ed in early years, owned and operated the Chevrolet garage in Nashville. In later years he owned and operated Nashville Frozen Food Locker Plant and farmed.
5. Alberta Meinert - b. Oct. 13, 1913; m. May 10, 1935, Joe Hug of St. Louis. 3 children - Billy Joe; Barbara; Scott. 2nd marriage on Nov. 27, 1944, was to Joe Szcepanski - b. Nov. 6, 1915. Joe is a veteran of W.W.II, having served in the Infantry and was wounded in action in France. They farmed for a number of years and he is presently distributor for Dairy Brand Milk and Dairy Products.

6. Richard Meinert - m. June 20, 1970. Richard is an engineer with Carter Carburetor Co., St. Louis, and his wife an elementary school teacher.
4. Henry Meinert - b. Apr. 30, 1887; in. Feb. 7, 1912, Clara Pilgrim - b. Dec. 15, 1891. Henry has always been employed as an automotive man - for Kirchhoefer Motor Co., Nashville, Illinois., until 1933 at which time he moved to Christopher, Illinois., and was em-ployed by Lemon Chevrolet until he retired. 3 children - Harry; Warren; Donald.
5. Harry Pilgrim Meinert - b. Dec. 6, 1912; d. May 30, 1965; in. July 5, 1932 at Alm-stead, Illinois., Madeliene Rose Haler of Okawville. Harry in early years was a grocer - later worked for Linkon Auto Supply Co., Centralia, as parts man. At the time of his death he was Purchasing Agent at Triangle Supply Co., Moberly, Mo., where they lived. 3 children - Dennis; Kenneth; Jerry.
6. Dennis Phil Meinert - b. Dec. 13, 1935; in. June 23, 1956, Beverly Ann Palmer - b. Dec. 12, 1936. Dennis attended Moberly Jr. College and Milwaukee School of Engineering - joined IBM Apr. 22, 1957, and was with Sage Air Defense Project - living in Kansas. City and Kingston, N. J. From June 1960 - June 1963 - Patent Engineer - lived in Carmel, NY From July 1963 - June 1967 - Time Sharing Systems Development Project , Carmel, NY From 1967 till the present he is with Santa Fe Railway Account, Topeka, Kans., where his title is IBM Account Mgr. Santa Fe Industries Advisory Marketing Representative. 3 children - Julie Denise Meinert b. Feb. 21, 1958. Dennis Blane Meinert b. Apr. 6, 1960. Sheillah Kay Meinert b. May 8, 1964.
6. Kenneth Jack Meinert - b. July 13, 1936, Centralia, Illinois.; m. Katherine (Kathy) Johnson - June 16, 1968. Kenneth attended Moberly Jr. Col-lege College - member of National Champion Basketball team "Greyhounds". He spent 2 years at the U. of Mo. and was a member of their baseball team. Graduated 1968. Is teacher and coach at Baptiste Jr. High School, Kansas City, Mo.
6. Jerry Don Meinert - b. Aug. 4, 1938. Attended Moberly Jr. College - served in US Army 3 years - Apr. 1961-March 1964 - now is Product Engineering Analyst, Allis Chalmers Mfg. Co., Independence, Mo.
5. Warren Meinert -b. May 30, l917 ; m Jan. 28, 1939, Marie Marlo Warren is employed as Mine Clerk - Old Ben Coal Corp. They live in Christopher, Illinois. 2 children - David & John.
6. David Warren Meinert - b. June 11, 1940; in. July 4, 1963, Theodora Gay Kornya. David graduated from the University of Illinois. with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Served in Naval Reserved and attained rank of Lieutenant. Is Electrical Engineer for Saginaw Steering Gear, Division of General Motors, Saginaw, Mich. 2 daughters - Tara Katherin - b. Jan. 12, 1967. Lisa Marie - b. May 2, 1968.

5. Donald William Meinert - b. Nov. 7, 1922; in. Dec. 26, 1944, Audrey Marie Shew. Don served 4 years in the US Marines - 1942-1946 in Pacific area. Graduate Marine Corps Institute. Attained rank of First Sgt. Worked for Old Ben Coal Corp., West Frankfort and since 1955 has been Manager of Nashville Savings & Loan. 1 child - Marsha.
6. Marsha Meinert -b. Sept. 22, 1948 ; m. Dec. .2, 1967, Joseph McClellan. Marsha attended for 2 years Eastern Illinois. University. 1 child - Joseph Shane McClel-lan. Marsha's 2nd marriage was to Jack Jones - Feb. 6, 1971.
4. Louise Meinert - b. March 24,1889; m. Dec. 31, 1918, Clarence Keyler of Nashville, Illinois. - b. June 11, 1890. Clarence served in the Armed Forces from Sept. 6, 1918, until the end of W.W.I, being discharged Dec. 26, 1918. Was a member of the Coast Guard Artillery stationed at Camp Custer, Kalamazoo, Mich., Ft. Totton, N. Y., Camp Eustice, Va., and Camp Grant, IL. In early years he worked in his father's jewelry store in Nashville. He later went to St.Louis, where he was employed as a shipping clerk by International Shoe Co. for 26 years. After retirement they returned to Nashville to live. No children.
4. Edward Meinert - b. Nov. 21, 1892; d. Jan. 3, 1962; m. July 5, 1912, Flora Holzbornof St. Louis - b. Nov. 11, 189 1; d. Oct. 4, 1964. Edward at one time with his brother Bill as partner owned and operated the Chevrolet Garage in Nashville. Later became interested in politics and served in various capacities at the county level. They are buried in the Masonic Cemetery, Nashville. 2 children - Edward & Flora.
5. Edward Meinert -b. Feb. 17, 1916 ; m .June 6, 1939, Shirley Berry -b. Feb. 2, 1921. Edward was a milk distributor for Dairy Brand Milk products for a number of years. Was re-cently elected to his first term as Circuit Clerk of Washington Co. on the Republican ticket. 3 children - Marilyn; Margaret; Janis.
6. Marilyn Ann Meinert - b. Aug. 31, 1942; m. Jan. 9, 1965, James William Clark - b. Dec. 18, 1939. Marilyn attended S.I.U.. Carbondale - graduated from Patricia Stevens Retailers School, St. Louis. Was employed before marriage by Scruggs Vandervoort Barney Dept. Store, St. Louis, as assistant buyer. James is with All State In-surance Co. and has served in the U. S. Marines. 2 sons - Jeffrey Michael Clark - b. Nov. 10, 1966. Douglas Edward Clark - b. Oct. 17, 1969.

4. Alma Marie Hoffman - b. Sept. 28, 1891; m. Apr. 26, 1942, Roy Walker, who died Feb. 21, 1953. Age 67. No children - but Roy had 3 daughters by a previous marriage. Alma graduated from Illinois Normal University, Normal, Illinois., in 1913. She engaged in Business College teaching and stenographic work until her marriage in 1942. Roy's occupation was woodworking. Two of Alma's stepdaughters are still living. They reside in Florida. Alma makes her home with a grandson and his wife in West Palm Beach, Fla.
