Warning!
All cattle found in Greenwood Cemetery will be taken up and owners thereof prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Trustees of Greenwood Cemetery Association.

The association has spent time and money in beautifying Greenwood, and the Silent City should be made safe from desecration by bovine invaders. To have the resting place of loved ones trampled is abhorrent and the careless owners of trespassing quadrupeds deserved punishment for disrespect to the dead and violation of the law.

      Riley was born in Lenox, MA; and Nancy in Abington, MA.
      They lived in Hillsdale, New York and in surrounding communities.
Then, they moved to Little Falls, NY in Herkimer County in 1840.
      By 1846, or so, they returned to Hillsdale until moving to
DuPage County, Il in 1855.
      After their son (my ggrandfather) enlisted in the 105th Illinois Regiment in 1862;
the family moved to Kewanee, Il.
      Then, before 1870, they had moved again; this time to Irvington.
