  Peggy,
I've just been looking at the Butler Co. website you directed me to. Wow, again! I have been frustrated with the Kansas GenWeb site and thought there surely must be better sources. And not just for Kansas, but for all states. I will be anxious to visit other counties and see what is available.
Thanks for putting me on the trail!

My husband and I came across your website (http://genealogytrails.com/kan/butler/) while researching his ancestry. We believe he is related to Mrs. Louisa Howe and found the biography on her that you transcribed from the book
Butler County's First Eighty Years 1855-1935. The information in this biography was valuable in helping us hopefully make a connection between families.

Thank you very much for all of the work put into your website!

Thank you very much for posting the newspaper accounts of the Albion bridge collapse. My great-grand uncle Ransom Murdock is listed among the victims. My family knew of his death is the canal but the details had been lost and others had been invented in the retelling from generation to generation. I've been looking for the true story for several years and was delighted to find your website today with the best history of the event that probably exists.
Thanks again for your very fine work.

You are managing a really great site.
I'm a native of Mt.Vernon who spent part of each memorial Day going to the Keene Cemetary where my ancestors were buried inside an iron fence. From 1930 to 1941 when my father died, my mother/s home grown madonna lilies found a spot to enhance that iron fence.
Great memories!

  Hi Roger,
I would like to compliment you on the great job you have done on the Cass County Internet site. I am working on an allied line of my Biddlecome family and found quite a bit of information and wish to thank you.

I was looking at the item about the tornado that occurred on 11 November 1911 and imagine my surprise when I found a description, complete with photos, of a tornado that also hit Owosso, Michigan. I was born and raised there! I haven't lived there since marriage and now reside in Florissant, Mo. That was very interesting.
Thank you.

to Nancy about Bureau County, Illinois

I came across the county site several months ago and I wanted to say how much I enjoyed it.
I grew up on a farm between Arlington and LaMoille and I still have family in the area;
I really enjoyed showing the site to my children.

I found some old photos in my Dad's things; so far, what I have are class pictures from Arlington Grade School taken in the 1930's. Three of them have the dates written on the front or the back; the other two pictures have to be from the 30's as well since my Dad or one of his brothers are in them.

to Barb about Greenup and Cumberland Counties, Illinois

I absolutely LOVED this portion of your site....articles from 1853 to 1873....so many of these names I am familiar with, from my chronologies of Greenup and Cumberland county. I had access to many original papers from this era at one time, but unfortunatly they got away from me before I could copy everything I wanted to. Your posting gave names of many on my family tree, in particular my g. grandfather Hiram Bowman, which helps me prove that he was a permanent settler by 1853.
THANK YOU.

I have viewed the Illinois Trails site many times, and have found a lot of valuable information (Cumberland,Logan, Clark) related to my counties of interest. I think that Geneology Trails is a fantastic site, and plan on visiting the Ohio sites now.

to Christine about Carroll County, Illinois

  Hello Christine,
I found your website due to an ancestry listing for Claire Mathias. You have done an incredible website! I don't usually write to people as I see many genealogy websites - but, yours is A+++.

I searched through but did not find any listings for the MATHIAS family - Hazel F. and Benjamin K. MATHIAS and their son, Claire E. I thought that this family lived in Carroll Co for many years.
Would you possibly know of any additional information?

Thanking you in advance, and in appreciation of a website well-done,

I am so thrilled to find your site on a google search for Peoria Co.

To have these records online is such a blessing.
And I thank you so much for your efforts.

Susan Carr of NY state for her note to Anna about IL Trails - Alexander County

&&&&& Anna, thanks for your work on ILTRAILS for Alexander Co.
It's becoming a nice resource for other geographically-challenged people
like me to do genealogical work in Alexander Co."
&&&&& ILTRAILS Alexander Co is full of goodies for me, and is growing by leaps and bounds.
So many of my research problems result from life events that occurred between 1880 and 1900
so I can't tie them geographically with the census. By the time 1900 rolls around, deaths have
occurred, remarriages have occurred, and young children are split between numerous families in the area.
The cemeteries you're posting are helping resolve that.
They're confirming marriages, geographic locations, and I am so happy."
