Dies at Age 79
Funeral services for George W.
Wright, 79, of Waltonville, will be
held Monday at 2:00 p. m. at the
Methodist church in Waltonville.
The Rev. Urhl Gulley will officiate
and burial will be in Hickory Hill
cemetery.
The body will remain at the Fry
Funeral Home in Waltonville
where friends may call at any time
until the funeral hour.
Mr. Wright died at 10 a. m. Wed-
nesday at the Elgin, Ill. Veterans
Hospital, where he had been a
patient for the past month.
Mr. Wright was a veteran of the
Spanish American War, having
servedwith the 9th Company,
Coast Guard Artillery Regiment. He was
a member of Eben Swift Post 94,
Spanich American War Veterans.
He was a retired cement worker
He was born August 19, 1873 in
Jefferson county, the son of Wil-
liam J. and Mary (Trout) Wright.
He was first married July 17,
1902 to Estella Baker, who died in
1936. He later married to Anna
Beckham, who survives.
Mr. Wright was a member of the
Ashley Christian church.
Besides his wife, he is survived
by one son, Loyd Wright of
Aurora, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs.
Irvin Beadle, Mrs Opal Taylor and
Mrs. Ralph Ewing of Aurora and
Mrs. Claude Hester of Decatur; one
brother, O. W. Wrigt of Cen-
tralia; six sisters, Mrs. Ida Thomp-
son of Centralia, Mrs. Cora Mc-
Kenzie and Mrs. Jesse Kohlmeyer
of Richview, Mrs. Nell Ingram of
St. Charles, Ill., Mrs. Della Reed
of Urbana and Mrs. Fannie Friley
of Bruceville, Ind; ten grandchil-
dren and ten great grandchildren.
