Will of
John Dickey
In the name of God Amen I John Dickey being weak in Body at present but of Sound Mind & Memory Blessed be God for his mercies to Me Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in Way and Manner following (viz)
I Give my soul up to God who Gave it me hoping in his mercies through Christ and my body to the Dust to be decently intered at the Discretion of my friends & executors and when my Just debts and funeral charges is defrayed I leave the rest of my Worldly Goods in way & manner following and first I leave to my loving wife Jean the half of my Worldly Goods both land & movable property her natural life to return to Joseph at her death to be at her Disposal while She lives So as to receive the profits of it and Next I do leave to my Son Joseph the other half of my Goods for to be his proper Right when come to a proper age to marriage the Same and I do leave to my Son James Dickey two Dollars as his Share as I have given to each of my first wife children What I allowed them and was able to spare I also allow to my son John two Dollars I leave to my daughter Betsy two dollars and I leave my daughter Peggy McCullough heirs two dollars and I do leave my Son Smith Dickey two dollars also my son Alexander Dickey two dollars to some off the whole of the Estate I also constitute Adam Harbison and James Harbison junr to be my Executors to see this my last Will put in proper Execution and I do hereby Revoke and Disannull all former wills or testament whatever and do constitute this as my last will and Testament
In witness hereof I hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 11th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Twenty six and in the fiftieth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
