Reuben Logan, & Sarah    To Deed    Geo. Bitsch
This Indenture made this thrity first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight-hundred and fifty-seven.
Between Reuben Logan and Sarah Logan his wife of the County of Washington and State of Illinois of the first part, and George Bitsch of the County of Washington and State of Illinois of the second partWitnessed that the said Reuben Logan and Sarah Logan his wife and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars to them in hand paid by the said George Bitsch the receipt thereof is herby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the Said George Bitsch and his heirs and assign forever all that tract or parcel of Land Situate and being in the County of Perry and State of Illinois and known and described as follows to wit. Being the South half of the North West quarter of the North West quarter of SectionNo. Nine (9) in Township No. four (4) South of Range No. three (3) West containing in all Twenty (20) more or less. Together with all and Singular the appurtenances there unto Belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the above described premises unto the Said George Bitsch and his heirs and assigns and against the Claim or claims of all and Every personwhomsoever we do will warrant and Forever defend By these Presents.
 
      In testimony Whereof the Said Reuben Logan and Sarah Logan his wife have hereunto set their hands and Seal the day and year first above Written.

I, Clark Gordan, a Justice of the peace
in and for Said County do Certify that this day personally appeared Before Me Reuben Logan and Sarah Logan his wife Who arepersonally known to me to be the identical persons who executed the foregoing deed and acknowledged that they signed the same for eh uses and purposes therein set forth and the Said Sarah Logan his wife after having been by me made acquainted with the contents thereof and examined Seperate and apart from her Said husband acknowledged She executed said deed for the uses and purposes therein set forth freely voluntarily and Without compulsion from her said husband and relinguished her right of Dower in the premises therein conveyed.
 
      In testimony Whereof I have unto set my hand and official seal this thrity first day of January AD Eighteen hundred and fifty seven
